I did go back a week later so he could re-bolt the cover via the wheel well. I paid him $20, though he did not request it -- it was worth it to me to have my car looking decent again, and not paying $100 to the other shop for the same job. Only took a few minutes. He was very pleasant. Overall, an excellent experience.
Once I get a chance to have the job done fully, I expect I'll have him do the work.
Barry fixed my 1999 Infiniti G-20 a few years back (I wrote about that experience here on Angie's List). Barry and his wife Janette run a completely professional and trustworthy operation that I highly recommend.
The key to the service here is that Barry stands up for the customer when it comes to the insurance company. What you don't know can really hurt you when it comes to collision repairs. Barry made sure to take the rear panels off of the car before the adjuster paid a visit, to carefully inspect the car for all signs of damage, no matter how small, before the adjuster saw anything. Collision car damage is like an iceberg; what you see on the surface amounts to only a fraction of the total. Barry is a smart dude who knows his stuff down to the last detail. I can't see an adjuster arguing with Barry for very long.
Janette and Barry kept me informed with regular updates about the car on the phone. We had to wait for a part for a few days and they were apologetic even though it wasn't a big deal at all to me. When I picked the car it looked and drived like new and even had the "new car smell" we all know and love.
If you end up getting into an automobile accident in the Metrowest area of Boston, don't freak out about your car damage. Peace of mind is at 10 Cochituate Road in Natick at Barry's Auto Body.
