Two years after I purchased it I started having problems with the freezer. I contacted Whirlpool for repairs and it cost me $200.00 to fix it. I have to purchase icemaker filters every 3 months which is also costly. Lowes scatched my floor due to a nail that was on the bottom of the box, but I let it go.

They have a shipper deliver it and there was couple of times I had to reschedule the delivery and they were very fine with that so they came in and brought it inside I don't like it when shippers leave things out on the curb.

When I bought the dishwasher, they told me it would be delivered on 8/19 (a Saturday), so I decided not to pick it up in person. Later, they called and left a message saying it would be delivered on 8/25 (a Friday). I had to take off work to have it delivered, and they called at 8pm the day before to let me know it would be sometime between 12 and 2pm. At 7:30am on the morning of the delivery day, they called to say they noticed it was damaged. I decided to see it in person, and see how much of a discount they would give me. When I called the store, they tried transferring me twice, and dropped the call both times. The delivery guy called the manager, who was apparently in a warehouse or something, and he tried to explain how I would get the refunded amount. I was worried about this process, because the exact same thing happened when I had a dryer delivered two years ago, and I never got the refunded amount. Eventually, that call was dropped, and the manager didn't answer when the delivery guy called him back. They took the dishwasher back to the store, and I won't be ordering an appliance from Lowe's again.

The machine I was looking for was out of stock and wouldn't be available until December. The other machine I was looking for wasn't going to be available. And both were on the sales floor. I wasn't told I needed a new hose, so the delivery people left the machine in the hallway without hooking it up. Then I was charged $80 more than the actual cost. I called Lowes' credit customer service line, and they told me I needed to speak to the Dedham store. When I called, I asked for the store manager, was put on hold, and the call went back to the operator. There is no answering service. She connected me to the assistant manager, who says he straightened out the problem. I have not yet received a Lowes update on my credit to know if that is the case.

I purchased a dishwasher and had Lowes install. The installer damaged counter requiring a carpenter to come out and repair. The dishwasher was not installed properly as it was put atop of some tiles, it has now shifted and caused water to spill from dishwasher damaging floor. The company is refusing to do anything about it when all that had to be done is install correctly from the beginning. I will never purchase anything there again. Their solution was to buy a new dishwasher.

They came through for us and gave us extra service; they were phenomenal. My husband went to another store first, but they weren't open until 10 o'clock and that wasn't good enough for us so we just spent the extra $100 and went to Lowe's who are open at 8, which is more accommodating. They were actually able to get us in that morning and fix it for us and we had hot water that afternoon. They were here by 11 o'clock Tuesday morning and had the water-tank in for us.
Description of Work: I went to Lowe's after my hot-water heater tank broke. It was a gas installation.

The whole process was very smooth. The sales staff helped me pick out the carpet. I think they had a contractor who did the installation and the contractor was very good. It's been a while and I forget his name.

Overall I was happy with their work. The buying portion was fine and I really liked the contractor they used. They were really professional and the finished product looked really good. They were responsive and they did a good job with selecting contractors for installation. They didn't have the lowest price but they were close.

I was wary of purchasing something from these guys, because I (stupidly) assumed that if their prices are low, their customer service must be terrible. Actually, their delivery team was the best I have ever encountered. So nice and careful. After the delivery, later in the day I got a phone call asking me to rate the delivery team. I had to give them highest marks on everything. Cynic that I am, I wouldn't be surprised if the delivery people's compensation depends in part on how they do on those surveys. They were so nice and helpful and courteous. Don't assume that just because the prices are low, the service will be bad. Actually, from what I can see, they are providing outstanding customer service in addition to very low prices.

custom ordered a storm door. I also wanted installation. The door arrived on time . The installer did not return any calls and picked the time of installation that fit him. He did not show on that day.When I called , I was told the door was not there, call back. Long story short, 4 different people, 4 different stories. I finally stopped payment on the door ( thru the credit card co) and then they started calling me back. Once again the installer did not show. Almost two month later, the door sits at Lowes. Now I need to find someone to install it.

I probably could have found a way to do this that would have been cheaper, but I can't imagine it could have been easier. It's astonishing to me that I could make a call on Friday and have a newly installed carpet on Monday! I had a 10% off coupon from Lowe's and they had a sale on carpet installation, they also deducted the cost of getting the estimate from my total cost, so it reduced some of the 'pain'. Ali was great, the Lowe's staff were helpful; overall, it was completely painless and I'd recommend them again, without hesitation.
Description of Work: I called Lowe's on Friday and had them send an installer to estimate the size of the rooms and amount of carpet needed. (Cost $35). He came out the next day. On Sunday, I went to the Lowe's in Dedham, where Ali (their installer) had sent all the info. I selected a carpet and then scheduled Ali to do everything else - rip up and haul away the existing carpet, install the new carpet and padding. Both times, Ali arrived a bit early, was friendly and on target with his timing. He did a great job and even left us some extra carpet in case we needed to replace it.

Very smoothly! Joe Hayes was helpful and knowledgeable. Very professional in the purchase and arrangements for installation. Pleasantly surprised that dealing with a "big box store" was so satisfying. Company called afterward to ask how it went.

The up front work went very well. Lowe's did the initial layout, sent a contractor to measure the space, and did a final layout with the final design, fit, and finish. Lowe's was easy to work with and responsive. The design fit with no problems. The cabinets arrived right on time and delivers was prompt and uneventful. The total package was good but missing a minor bit; There were no toe kicks for under the cabinets. Installation was considerably delayed as we finished up the rest of the kitchen and Lowe's accommodated our delays with no problems. Coordinating our efforts with the Lowe's installation was awkward but we managed. There was some confusion which could have been avoided concerning ducting for the vent over the range. The installation itself was - adequate. The installation was finished in one day. The cabinets are in, level, and, secure. There is some sloppy work on the final product. The installer did not take the time to align the cabinet doors well, the door knobs are slightly uneven on some of the door pairs, and a shim was exposed along the edge. The holes cut for the vent ducting were badly placed. We've cut off the shims - a trivial job - and expanded the holes to fit the ducting, we can probably align the doors better, and we'll live with the uneven door knobs. Overall the cabinets are very nice, the toe kicks still need to be finished, and installation is fundamentally sound but a bit sloppy.
Description of Work: Measured, laid out, and installed cabinets as part of a kitchen remodel. There are upper cabinets along two walls and lower cabinets on all four - the kitchen has a G shaped layout.

At first, I was at ease about using Lowe's for my new doors; Joe in sales was very nice and informative. Doors took two weeks+ to come in. From there, it all went downhill. Very disappointed about the bolt locks and the wrong hardware. This was July, and the two bolt locks are STILL NOT INSTALLED. In addition, I ordered a new door in August, and again, it is October, and it is still not installed. I have phoned Lowe's contractor SEVERAL times, and the installer forgets appointments, and does not return calls in a timely manner. While Jenny at the Lowe's Install Department has been fantastic to work with, her manager Rick is rude, curt, and downright not concerned about customer service. Absolutely the WORST experience and customer service I've ever experienced.
Description of Work: Installed two interior condo doors with door frames (pre-hung). Installed hardware as well. Despite correct paperwork, both doors did not come with the pre-cut hole for the bolt locks. Therefore, bolt locks were not installed. In addition, wrong hardware installed. Before the install (and the mishap), I ordered another interior door for my unit. Ordered it in early August, and it is October, and it is STILL not installed.

Lowe's was great when it came to our carpeting installation job. They came in, they didn't waste time, they did not leave a mess, and they did everything correctly the first time. I had been a little concerned because the carpeting we picked out had almost a pattern to it and our basement has kind of two separate sections. I was worried they would lay them in opposing directions and that if you looked closely it would look weird. They did not though. They were on the ball and did everything perfectly, so at least in terms of their carpet installation work, I can tell you they really earned big points with us.
Description of Work: Lowe's came and installed brand new carpeting in the basement of our 2,000 square foot home after we had that area refinished this spring. There had previously been no carpeting in that room since it had been an unfinished area before.

Their installer was extremely unreliable. He didn't show up. It was supposed to take 3-4 months and it took 6-8 and never was completed. They ended up giving me money back instead of finishing my job as I requested. The installer was not qualified to do the work and they ended up returning about half of the cost. It was a very frustrating experience. They damaged things during installation which I had to pay to have fixed. If it weren't for the store manager getting my money refunded, I'd have to grade professionalism as an 'F'.

My overall experience was very poor. I will not shop at Lowe's again.
Description of Work: Work was not performed. I purchased an air conditioner from Lowe's & told the clerk I wanted it installed. After more than a month, & much miscommunication (mostly between employees of Lowe's), my AC was still not installed. I ended up hiring a private contractor to install it & requested that Lowe's reimburse me for the time I spent at the store & on the phone trying to set the matter straight. After six months, Lowe's has not fulfilled their 100% satisfaction guarantee.
