O'Sullivan descended on the Cedarwood neighborhood of Waltham like locusts with asphalt, rollers, and thick Irish accents. Within a few days they had at least a dozen jobs. We were taken in by the reasonable price, but problems started immediately. Perhaps the weirdest was their asking us to "tip" the workmen. We thought they were joking at first, they were serious! Obviously, that didn't happen. Meanwhile, the asphalt wasn't drying, and wasn't evenly applied. Jim O'Connor tried to assure us it was only the warm weather that kept the asphalt soft - a frightening prospect for hot summer months. We talked to everyone in the the neighborhood with a "O'Sullivan Paving" sign in their front yard and found other dissatisfied customers, some waiting for a promised return fix-up. Hearing of our canvass, the guys returned and did repave the area. It did look better, and for a while we convinced ourselves it would be fine. But today, after two days of 80+ weather, we have a couple of soft areas, a crumpling patch at roadside, and two little pools in low spots. Guess that wasn't such a bargain after all.
Description of Work: They paved a short two car parking area at the front of our house.
