They were professional, timely and explained what he did and what the next steps were. It was a Friday night and he help calm our concerns.

Work was done on time, at stated price, courteously, professionally. The new equipment seems to be working perfectly.

The first guy that came tried to use a thawing machine which didn't work. He also tried some other things from inside the basement with no results. The second guy came several days later and actually went into the crawlspace and was able to find and repair the damage. To be fair, it was also much warmer outside when the second guy came.

I’ve been very impressed with them. They came twice and they were excellent. I got 2 different plumbers that were really good. They both took care of the issues I had. They were very prompt, efficient and clean. I called them for something and they detected something else and it was a big thing. He found out that the pipe that’s going from under the toilet down to the basement, there was a crack on that pipe so he had to change that and he did it. He explained it to me and he went out and got the materials and he got it done and I have no problems since then. He took care of it in time because I was leaving for my vacation. These guys are excellent. They are little different in the sense that they don’t tell you what it will cause but they will deal with you later. They send the bill and it’s all laid out nicely but until the bill comes, I have no clue what it will cost me. I wish I’ve known but it was for the work done and it seems fine. They were on time. The second time, he was running a little late but he called me. So they were very good at least in letting me know he is delayed.

Excellent service! Came out on the same day we called, and performed the service in about an hour. Will definitely use K&S again for future heater service!

I can't say enough good things about Kirkland and Shaw. From the very first phone call they went "above and beyond". We asked six people to bid. Three came to see the job but never submitted a bid. Two others really didn't want to do everything. This was a big undertaking for us and we had lots of questions. Everyone at Kirkland and Shaw was exceptional - answering our questions, helping us along the way, even helping us navigate the National Grid minefield (another story). We started this project in May and we got heat on October 28th. They always returned phone calls and e-mails promptly and most of all did what they said they were going to do when they said they would - that doesn't happen anymore. The project manager (Tom) and the men they sent (Andy and Corey) were very professional and did excellent work. There was no skimping or corner cutting, all parts and materials were top notch. Everything turned on, started up, and is running perfectly. We were very satisfied and paid when we received the bill, Then they even sent a letter thanking us for being a customer. Kudos and thanks to everyone at Kirkland and Shaw.

They were fine. My water heater was under warranty so I didn't have to pay the full price of the new water heater.

Came the next day after being called. Did all the work required. To install the garbage disposal and fix the sink drain involved redoing the drain plumbing.

The installation was effortless for him. Our previous plumber unsuccessfully tried to do the install.

I called the office on a Sunday and left a message on the answering machine. The next morning I got a call back and was told that a serviceman would be there in an hour. In exactly one hour he showed up. I showed him the problem and he knew exactly where to go to resolve the problem. In fifteen minutes the problem was resolved and he was on his way. The serviceman was friendly and very professional and left no mess. My first thought when I received the bill was that it was too high for 15 minutes but then I thought of the normal service charge for just showing up and then I felt that the bill was fair and appropriate. I would definitely contact them again for any future plumbing problem

Plumber and apprentice arrived as scheduled. They were courteous and professional. Work was done quickly and efficiently. Job was successful. I would fully recommend Kirkland and Shaw.

Kirkland & Shaw was recommended to me as a plumbing company that was reliable, would be able to do the work I needed in a timely fashion. I called and talked to Steve who provided a quote for the work which involved replacing a toilet. He gave me a couple of options, asked a few questions to be sure he would be able to complete the work. His worker Mark arrived as scheduled, was able to do the work relatively quickly and took the time to explain what he was doing. I'd also asked if the bathroom sink's drain could be fixed and after looking at it, he said no and explained why, as well as what other work might be done in the future. He was polite, neat and cleaned up before he left. Since I'll need a plumber to remove/reinstall the toilet as well as update the pipes when the vanity is changed, I'll likely call Kirkland again.

Very positive experience from start to finish. Everything looked and worked perfectly upon completion. Would not hesitate to recommend this company.

I emailed them (I have a hearing loss). They replied within hours on the same day. An appt was set up the next day with a 2 hour window. Service showed up within the first hour. he replaced the inside plumbing mechanisms and set the water flow to make it a bit more efficient (toilet is old). The plumber was very nice and explained what he was doing and why. I would definitely use them again

They are not cheap but they are not the surely the most expensive either. I think they've got good people and they come promptly.

Steve Kirkland is a master at both the technology of heating conversion and the execution of intricate plumbing - but he only does what is necessary. I give Kirkland and Shaw my highest recommendation.

In 2008, around May 1st, I contacted Kirkland & Shaw about having some minor plumbing work done in my home. The scope of work was for them to: [1] fix two leaking toilets [2] fix a leaking bathtub waste [3] fix another toilet that was flushing itself If memory serves me, the employee arrived within the time negotiated on May 29, 2008. I recall having had the impression the employee did not wish to be observed while they worked. The employee completed the job and left. The results were: [1] toilet leak became much worse and became unusable; the other leak was fixed [2] a leak behind the bathtub faucet developed which made its way to the ceiling beneath [3] toilet did stop flushing itself Yes, this review is for work done almost five years ago. Yes, I have the receipt. No, I never contacted Kirkland & Shaw about the results. Yes, I would consider hiring them again.

It was a lot more money than we thought, so we couldn't really afford it. They're responsiveness was good and they only came out twice and were on time.

I contacted K & S because my gas heating system was malfunctioning; the burner was cycling on every 10 minutes nd staying on for 2.5 minutes. Also, it was sending forced hot-water to the third floor despite the fact that the thermostat for that zone was not calling for heat. and it was failing to send heat to the first and second floors which were calling for heat. I called K & S on 1/1/13. fully expecting I wouldn't get anybody to come out to my home on New Year's day unless it was an emergency ;and this was not one. The K & S representative said he would have a man at my home between 12 Noon and 2 Pm on 1/2/13. He showed up at exactly 1 PM He proceeded to the cellar and immediately went to work. Within 1 hour he had the problem resolved and the heating system back up and operational. He explained to me what the problem was and what he had done to resolve it. Approximately ten days later I received what I considered to be an exceedingly reasonable bill, which I promptly paid. I would recommend K & S without hesitation or reservation.

They were very easy to talk to on the phone and really took the time to listen to what my needs were. They were very accomodating in coming over for a quick visit. The gentleman who came over was very nice and did a very rapid job. I also really like that they send you a bill instead of making you pay at the time of service.

From the first phone call to completion of the job, everyone I dealt with at Kirkland & Shaw was extremely nice and professional. After receiving several recommendations for these guys from several friends of mine, I gave them a call. Someone came out the next day to estimate the job. The following week, I received a detailed written estimate that specified exactly what was going to be done and what it would cost. They even saved my lawn by doing the excavation by hand with shovels! No tire tracks from a backhoe. The project took about two and a half days, and there was minimal disruption. They made sure to leave everything functional (drains, laundry, etc.) before leaving each day, and clearly explained everything they were doing. The best part is that they found a way to run the vent pipe up through my laundry closet and upstairs bathroom closet, so they didn't have to open any of my walls, which was a relief for my wife and me. They cleaned up everything, even the concrete floor, as best they could and did a fantastic job. I will definitely call them again for my future plumbing needs.

My sump pump feeds into a PVC pipe that runs under the yard to a place in the back. It got blocked. I asked whether they could fix this and they said yes. When the plumber showed up, he told me there was nothing he could do about the blockage, but they charged me for a visit, anyway. A little while later, the house drain blocked up. The first person who showed up concluded this was more than he could handle, so they sent in the "drains guy". He took care of the main drain and then went after the sump pump drain. It was difficult, but he was persistent. Although he wasn't able to clear it all the way to the back of the yard, I'm pleased with his work. So, I had one bad experience and one good one. The charges for the two visits were $65 and $290, respectively. All the people who came to my house were punctual and pleasant to deal with.
