Lowe’s Air Duct Cleaning

During a routine furnace check, our technician told us that our ducts were filthy and causing us to go through furnace filters too quickly well as making the furnace work harder than necessary. He recommended a duct-cleaning service that was going to charge $500-plus for the job, but Angie's List had a deal for $239 for Lowe's, so I decided to give it a try. Lowe's contacted us quickly to make an appointment. The day of the service, the tech called when he was 30 minutes away to let us know he'd be arriving on time or a bit early. Upon arrival, he walked me through the process, which involved cutting and then patching entry points for his vacuum equipment in the cold air return and the main heat supply. The total job took about two hours and resulted in a rather disturbing amount of collected dust and pet hair (a rolling trashcan's worth). He showed me the ducts afterwards to demonstrate how clean they were (very--they'd been caked with grime previously), packed up his equipment and our dust, and was on his way. I would definitely hire Lowe's again, and certainly won't wait another decade between duct cleanings.

We were having trouble with our dryer taking a long time to dry a load, so we mostly needed the dryer vent cleaned. However, since we had never had the HVAC air ducts cleaned, we went with the big deal to have them all done. The technician arrived on time, after calling us about a half hour before to tell us he was on the way. He did a very through cleaning and sanitation of the air ducts. He went into our attic to try to access our dryer vent, which goes through the roof. Unfortunately, he had no way to open the vent, so had to go onto the roof. When he was cleaning the dryer vent, he found a large birds nest, in the top of the vent. He removed the nest and then cleaned the dryer vent. The dryer is now working as it should.

The individual was great. very nice. He was punctual. answered my questions. and made additional repairs to a damaged vent.

It was good. I ended up paying another $200 when he got here. The guy was really nice but I feel like it was probably a waste of $500. It's probably my own fault just because I don't know if I necessarily needed it done so they went ahead and did it. I just felt like I could see dust in the vent so I thought that would be helpful, but honestly it made no difference. He had to move a bunch of furniture to get to the vent and he didn't move any of it. It was more of a pain. It was so bad because the kid was late but he was apologetic. He was good and he did exactly what he was supposed to do, but he said he was late because he forgot something so he went back to get it. When he left our house, I asked if he has everything and he said yes, and he left this huge machine in our attic. He had to come back the next day.

Service man called in the morning asking if appointment for 5 pm could be moved up to 3 - no problem. Was 10 minutes early and immediately setup all equipment and got to work. Was clean, professional and clearly knew what he was doing. Dryer vent was last and he had to move the machine out onto the floor to reach the vent and duct. He cleaned the vent and duct as well as behind the dryer. Put everything back in place and finished by cleaning up the general area. Overall, a very good job!

No surprises. The tech was professional, knows what he was doing, responsive to my questions and cleaned up after the job. Also no jacking up price once on site. I purchased a deal via Angie's list and at the time of scheduling I informed about the extra system and they offered to do it for $199. And that's exactly what I paid. No surprises. I'd definitely use the service again.

It was okay. It was not too good but not too bad. It was more than the "Big Deal" price. They charged us $200 more. Their price was okay. I was not too satisfied with the quality of service. I didn't walk around with them while they were at the house. I don't know if they covered everything. I have a feeling they have missed out a few vents.

This company is clearly doing something right as their first available appointment was only in 3 weeks which was fine. They called on the day of the appointment and asked if they could arrive EARLY!!! What a pleasant surprise from home improvement services. The guys who serviced our system were polite and knowledgeable and walked me through the process. They were so conscious of not making anything dirty while they were working and cleaned up after themselves. He even apologized for some of the pipes he used being slightly wet (we were having a torrential downpour when they arrived so it was expected but nice of him to make sure I didn't mind and he wiped everything down afterwards). They moved all the furniture back into place too. The whole servicing went quickly and at the end they again walked me through to show me what they had done and places on the vent covers that wouldn't come clean due to old staining. I would highly recommend Lowes Air to service your HVAC systems. The Angie's List deal I bought made this service a steal.

Overall it was a good experience. The crew was very courteous and professional and they did a good job, and the services that were provided were a very decent value for the price. Only minor issue is they didn't clean up the dust in some areas, but otherwise it went well.

Everything went very well. They actually came a little early and called ahead to let me know. They were very courteous and professional and even notified us that the furnace filter was missing and told us the size and kind we needed to purchase. The house was clean when they left. Would certainly use their service again and will highly recommend them.

They guy called a few hours ahead of time and said he was free to come early if that was OK. The entire job took a few hours and the technician was professional and friendly. I asked exactly how they clean these ducts and he gave me quite a bit of detail, showed me the tools, let me watch for a bit (I work form home). He left everything exactly as he found it and checked with me before moving any furniture. Overall A+ experience.

Two men showed up and thoroughly cleaned my dryer air duct. They were very thorough and seemed quite proficient in their work removing a lot of collected fiber. I would recommend them.
