Description of Work: A coupon was used that was good. The basement crack was filled using some kind of epoxy putty from inside (hand applied) and the crack was painted with similar epoxy cleanly. |My only concern is putty/filler may not completely fill the crack from inside of wall to outside, as it was hand applied. The water may freeze in winter, inside the crack and problem can start again. It will take couple of winters to see if this really worked.

Description of Work: We had major flooding in our basement and expected to need to undergo significant repairs. Others came out and gave us exorbitant quotes for french drains or alternative major undertakings. Jeremy came and just wanted to figure out a solution. He made a quick tweak to our sump pump and suggested that we consider resealing our basement floor. Well it seems that the minor sump pump fix may have solved our problem, at least for now. If it turns out we need more work, I will definitely call Jeremy and Done Right Services. He didn't charge me for the fix, he didn't pressure or steer me toward costly repairs. He was service and solutions oriented each time we interacted. I can't reccommend him enough, particularly in cases where you're venturing out of your own areas of expertise and are concerned about taking on unnecessary work or exorbitant costs. Jeremy takes a consultative approach and just wants to help you figure out what's best for you.

We never showed up because we were never hired by this client to do any work. And if we were we would've asked for a deposit when signing contracts. And no one has asked for a deposit back. It's unfortunate Angie's list cant contact this client and ask them to double check their review and make sure they reviewed the right company.

They came today to do an inspection and they also provided me with an estimate and a detailed proposal to have all the work completed. He was very knowledgable and explained everything to me as I did not realize the damage that I had. It was a great experience. He was very straight forward with me and did not try to upsell any projects that I did not need. He assured me that he could complete the project and that my home would be okay. He also provided me with a senior citizen discount and an extension on my coupon.

Price was an Angie's List Deal. Done Right Services normal price is competitive with other similar services. Unlike some others, however, Done Right handled the whole matter professionally, showing up on time, getting right to the repair and completing same with no mess or other cleanup that, in the past, I've had to do myself. I will certainly check in with Done Right at such time I decide to have some basement waterproofing done.

I had to wait a couple of weeks for the repair because of a recent severe storm that had damaged many houses. Communication was very good. I was out of town during the repair but outside water faucet was available. Things went smoothly. The color of the new cement matches that of the rest of the house.

I spent $9000 on their services. They’re good. The people and the quality of work are all good and it was good. They were kind of in the middle of the road in terms of price. I think it was fine. They are good. I can’t really comment on the quality because they just did the work. They’re good with responsiveness. I would use their services again in the future if needed.

I saw Jeremy Custeau at a home show representing Done Right Services (as the "Owner"), and liked his product, so I gave him my name and number at the show. He never called (I should have taken the hint!). I called him and made an appointment for an estimate, and he said he could do the crack repair the same day as the estimate, if I liked the estimate. When he got here, he said he couldn't do the repair that day cause he had to grind down the wall first, and he didn't have his grinder with him (we previously talked about the condition of the wall, but yet he came unprepared to do the work... hint #2), plus he said we had to take out studs and plumbing for baseboard heat to use the grinder cause it was so big (ya think he could have told me that before he came for the estimate/work!). Before he left, he wanted a deposit of $200 to come back and do the work. The total for the job would be $600. I paid him the deposit cause getting scammed was the last thing on my mind, since I saw only good reviews when I checked him out on Angie's List. Well, the day he was scheduled to fix the crack arrived, and I got a call around 9am saying he was tied up at another job and could not be here until 1pm. I sincerely thanked him for letting me know, and said I'd see him at 1pm. He never showed. He never called. It's been three days, and I still haven't heard from him. I sent him an email yesterday to ask why, since I figured there was a small chance he might have been in a car accident or something, but I got no response to my email. Today I sent him an email asking for my deposit back. I'll update this later to let you know if he returns my money!
Description of Work: Estimated crack repair for crack in poured foundation wall, and scheduled with me to do the job on 10/26/2011. He never showed. It's been 3 days since, but he has not called to tell me why he didn't show up, and he still has my $200 deposit!!

As Member states we met at a home show in 2011. I explained to her how we repair cracks in foundations, including our grinding method for removal of previous applications and that the crack must be accesable to work on i.e.. framing and baseboard pluming should not be obstructing the crack in any way. Member stated that there were no previous attempts at repairing the crack in question and therefore no grinding would be necessary. After taking her information, I explained to her that we were meeting a lot of potential clients at the home show and if we did not get back to her within the timeframe that she would like, that she should call to schedule an estimate. Member then scheduled the estimate and we went out to the her home at the scheduled time. After seeing the crack it was clear that the crack had been previously patched over and required grinding. However, I did not have the grinding tool as I did not plan on needing it. Also, there were studs obstructing the crack, as well as, the baseboard heating making it impossible to grind the crack. I wrote Member a contract that included a $200 deposit after she told me that she would have another contractor remove the obstructions. I took her deposit and waited for her to call me when she was ready for us to come out. She called and scheduled for us to come out not too long after. The day we were scheduled to go out to her house, we got tied up at another customers house and we called to reschedule the time for later that day. Due to circumstances out of our control we were unable to make it out to her house on that day and called to reschedule with no answer. We called again the next day and still no answer. The next time we heard from Member she called to request her money back. We apologized and sent her a check for her $200 deposit the very next day.

I contacted them because they did the work that I was looking for and they did a good job once they came. I had a hard time getting in touch with them because the guy was getting married so I certainly understood. It is difficult to know if the work was done right but they did a good job and cleaned up. They did the work in a reasonable amount of time. I won't know if the work was done properly until the spring. The price was reasonable but it actually went up once they got in there and starting ripping things apart. Once we had a date and they didn't come. I did contact him again and he did call and come on time. I think he was backed up because of being gone for several weeks.

We hired Done Right Services to waterproof our basement foundation. Before the job began, complications arose which required much more extensive repairs. The job went from 2 weeks to 2 months and involved repairs that had to be done in stages. Jeremy was great throughout the entire process. He always showed up when we needed him and his crew did a nice job in a difficult situation.
Description of Work: Done Right Services repaired and waterproofed our basement foundation.
JEREMY and DONE RIGHT SERVICES and a crew of two, arrived at my house early on Monday, 11/01, to perform waterproofing service on my basement. They worked, almost without pause, to complete the job. When finished, I was amazed with how great the basement looked. It hadn't looked so good since the house was built some 58 years ago. They picked up everything and the basement was swept clean. Since the completion date on Monday, 11/08, we have had a inch and a half of rain, which has provided a good test for his sealant. My basement is bone dry....AND WHAT A RELIEF THAT IS! I would not hesitate in recommending JEREMY CUSTEAU and DONE RIGHT SERVICES of Billerica, MA to others for his exceptional waterproofing method.
Description of Work: Removed unwanted items from basement, and placed those items in dumpster. Removed wanted items and placed them in UHAUL and secured. Filled drain pits (2) with concrete. Pressure washed walls and floor. Air dried entire basement with several fans. After all was dry, applied special sealant to walls and floor. After sealant was dry, returned wanted items from truck to basement.

Since I published this review I heard from another customer who had the same experience as I did. His basement leaked after Jeremy "waterproofed" it, and Jeremy blew him off and refused to honor his warranty when the customer complained to him. I've reported Done Right Services to the BBB and am considering a law suit. I've never written a negative review of a company before, nor have I ever reported anyone to the BBB or sued them. The final word I got from Jeremy is that because I wrote negative comments about him on the internet, "he can't work with me." Here is my experience with this company: I hired Done Right Services when my basement flooded -- for the first time in the 15 years I've owned my house -- in the heavy rains of spring 2010. I was persuaded to use them when Jeremy told me that his method works by creating a waterproof seal which ensures that water can't come in. He claims to guarantee this seal for 30 years against flooding. This sounded much better to me than traditional methods which work by getting water out only after it comes in, so I was sold. Jeremy charged me $15,000, and it was clear from what he said that he inflated his price because I live in Brookline and he could tell by the size of my home that I could afford more than his usual customers. I'm not the greatest of negotiators, and I was excited by the idea that my basement would be clean, dry, and permanently waterproof. Plus, because of the amount of money I was paying him, Jeremy made my basement a priority at a time basements all over MA had flooded and people were clamoring for help. (It would have been months before a company that installs traditional waterproofing methods such a french drain could have come to even give me an estimate.) Jeremy has loads of positive reviews on another website. So, I fell for his pitch. Jeremy and his assistant were prompt and polite on the job. They came in within a week and proceded to gut my entire basement, taking down all the walls, the sheetrock, and the heating, leaving me with dangling electric outlets and little else. They power washed and pointed the foundation, and then they applied their waterproof seal. Jeremy issued me my 30 year warranty and gave me specific instructions as to how a contractor needed to refinish the basement in order not to penetrate his seal (i.e. rubber nails, etc.). I was shocked at the state Done Right Services left my basement in, but still happy enough to renovate in the belief that my foundation was clean, solid, and waterproof. It cost me over $100,000 to finish the basement including Jeremy's waterproofing, an architect, and the contracting work. (I did nothing fancy except put in a half bath.) I was queasy at the cost, and had four different contractors come through to give me bids. Every one of them, including one that Jeremy knew personally and had referred to me, shook their heads in disbelief that the thin coat of polymer Jeremy had painted on my floor and foundation could possibly be waterproof. None of them had heard of such a thing. (Jeremy's friend the plumber said, "That Jeremy has balls! Not exactly a confidence inspiring statement.) The contractor I hired consulted with Jeremy before starting on the job and did everything Jeremy told him to the letter. After the renovations were done, Jeremy came back to paint his polymer over the places where the seal was compromised. I was extremely careful to make sure it was all done properly, because obviously the most important thing to me was that the basement was fully waterproof and guaranteed not to flood. The polymer was chipped in various spots all over the basement floor -- in fact, it chipped with very little impact! When Jeremy came back he brought a can of his waterproofing agent and a paintbrush and spent something like half an hour painting over the compromised spots. He charged me $1,200 and told me -- with a straight face -- that the actual price was $1,800 and he was giving me a discount! Again I paid -- although this time much more reluctantly because he was so clearly gouging me (who gets $1,200 for half an hour of work?) -- because I was already $100,000 in, and my most pressing concern was that the basement was sealed and the 30 year warranty was good. A couple of weeks ago, the Saturday night before the Sunday when Tropical Storm Irene hit the Boston area, my basement started flooding. It was clear where water was coming in -- right through Done Right Services "waterproof" seal. It spread throughout the basement, ruining my new flooring. It would have destroyed the furniture, but I called people in to lift it off the floor (costing me yet more $$). My newly finished basement is presently uninhabitable. I emailed Jeremy immediately when the basement started flooding and got no response. I emailed him again several days later and still no response. I waited for more than a week. Then I wrote an angry negative review on this website and heard from him immediately!!! (By the way, Jeremy actively solicits reviews from customers -- something I haven't seen with other service people. I gave him several positive reviews on various sites at the time I believed my basement was waterproof.) Jeremy first told me that he hadn't responded because he didn't get my emails. Then he told me that the reason he didn't respond is because his company is too small to cope with email and I should have called him on the phone to have him come in and develop a "game plan." He is now telling me that he can't work with me because I attacked him and his company publicly. I'm left with a basement which is every bit as vulnerable to flooding as before Done Right Services applied their "waterproof seal," Jeremy is voiding his "warranty" because I emailed instead of called and attacked him on the internet. I didn't want him back anyway because I have no faith in his method. I'm now going to have to put out more money to figure out how to cope with an expensively finished basement that floods in heavy rains. Jeremy has all the makings of a con man. He's deceitful and a price gouger and once he takes your money, he won't cover his warranty. Since writing the above review, my basement has flooded twice more. Jeremy's "waterproof seal" might as well be a coat of regular paint for all the protection it provides. Jeremy got off scott free and is gouging his next customers. BUYER BEWARE. JEREMY CUSTEAU IS A CON MAN.

In response to the member's review, yes it did take me a couple of days to get back to her, when a storm like Irene hits we get a huge call volume and emails so yes I didn't get her email right away. but as I tell all my clients once im done waterproofing a basement, if you get water in your basement call us right away so we can find the source and stop it. there are a lot of false statements such as" inflate my prices because she lives in brookline " the fact that she does have an oversized basement and the reason for the cost of the project, not only did we water proof it we also moved all her personal belongings out of the basement into a uhaul truck, the we removed all the sheetrock walls and studs to expose the foundation walls and hauled all the debris out of the basement into a dumpster. then we waterproofed the walls and floor. once we were done we then returned all the items from the uhaul back into the basement as an idea of the amount of stuff we moved, we rented an 18 foot uhaul truck and filled it. she claims we destroyed her basement but i explained it to her step by step she new what we were doing its all in the contract she signed ! as we removed the walls we discovered tons of mold growing on the sheetrock, i stopped got the member and showed her the amount of mold growing in her walls. she was happy to know we were getting rid of the mold. it wasnt because she lives in brookline the cost was so high it was the amount of work that went into it. I explained to annettte when she is ready to finish the basement have her contractor call me before he does anything, she said she would be adding a bathroom down stairs. that would mean jack hammering the concrete floor that was sealed to add plumbing. we would then have to reseal the areas also the joints where the old concrete and new concrete come together. well he did call me we talked over the phone, we set up a time to meet at the member's house. to my surprise the basement was already finished ! i thought i was meeting him to get an idea of when he was going to jack up the areas how much of an area so we can talk about cost to reseal when the plumbing was done. The member claims i charged her $1,200.00 for a half an hour, it was more like 3 hours dealing with her contractor, telling me he wasnt going to remove walls and toliet, i explained to him if we dont there is a chance she could get water in the basement. once we were finished the member asked me if i got it all, my response was im not 100% sure, because of the amount of framing in this area because it was a custom tv entertainment center and on the other side of the wall was the bathroom. the builder refused to work with us to expose the area 100%. i told the member i can guarantee it. the builder shouldve called me in after he poured the concrete so we couldve sealed it 100% . but he didnt he finished the entire basement including the bathroom without resealing any of the areas. but yet the member calls me a con man, she wants to take me to court she wants to write nasty reviews all over the internet about how my company failed her, when she should be angry with the builder. it is in our warranty if you do any work in a basement that has been sealed by us we need to be notified before any work is done. The member or her builder did not. it wouldve been a lot easier if the member gave us a chance to work with her in helping solve her water issue. but she didnt.

I have used Jeremy at Done Right Serivces before in the past with a basement waterproofing problem we were having, so we knew he was the professional company we were looking for to complete our garage floor coating project.Jeremy came out to provide us with a written estimate which we felt was a good price. we scheduled a time for Jeremy and his crew to start the job. The start date was delayed a couple of days due to the weather but Jeremy kept us informed every step of the way. When the got started, everything went as scheduled. Jeremy and crew started by removing everything from the garage putting it into a box truck. they cleaned the entire garage walls and floors removing the old paint, once that was complete and everything was cleaned the started to apply the new coatings to the walls and floors. filling all the cracks and holes. 2 days later and the job was complete. after everything was dried they put everthing back into the garage. job well done.
Description of Work: Jeremy with Done Right Services installed a new garage floor coating, 1 st removing everything from our garage and putting it into storage truck that was parked in my driveway. cleaning out the entire garage. even hauling away items we no longer wanted. Jeremy then removed the old coatings from the walls and floors cleaned the concrete and put new coatings ont the floors and walls.

It is sort of hard to tell early in the job if the quality of work is good or bad; it looks fine but what we really want to see is that it holds up and prevents any water damage over the winter with the spring thaw. They were punctual, professional and available. They were pretty clear about what work they could do, what timeline they could do it in and what the options were for how extensive we wanted the work to be. We could have also received quotes for more extensive work from them. I don?t have a lot to compare their price to - it is a condo association and my neighbor actually solicited most of the quotes. We spent $1400 to do mortar repair around the whole perimeter of the foundation.
Description of Work: We have an older fieldstone foundation and some of the mortar between the stones was starting to undergo water damage. So we used Done Right Services to replace and repair the mortar wherever required.

"My basement experienced significant water problems during and after heavy rains. Sometimes I would observe thin leaks squirting out of the wall several inches - a bit disturbing. Jeremy at Done Right Services was very knowledgeable and good at communicating what he wanted to do and the pros and cons of other approaches. He convinced me that the sump pump solution was not something that I needed for my situation. At this point, about 4 months later, I am extremely happy. We have already experienced some very heavy rains and I have not seen a drop of water in the basement. Basement has a nice, clean and DRY look. Great job - highly recommend."
