What a winter! I was finally afraid that the ice dam (or d*** ice) would slide off the roof and kill me and everything I hold dear. I talked to Chris on a Monday. He was very upfront about the price, took plenty of time describing the process, and thought he could schedule me later that week. Not bad considering how many people needed help. Chris called on Wednesday to say I was on their schedule for later that afternoon. As usually happens, the other jobs took longer, but he was good enough to let me know in the early afternoon. On Thursday, the crew showed up and worked like dogs. All the ice and snow was removed and hasn't returned. If you value professionalism and good hard work, you can't do better than Northeast Maintenance Services.

I came to Angie's List looking for someone to clear the snow and ice (and some ice dams) from my roof after the first blizzard of 2015. I contacted Chris by email. He got back to me late that night indicating that he was swamped, but he could get a crew to my home the next day. He explained that he charged $150 per man hour, sent out two person crews, and I should expect to pay between 400 and 600 dollars for the service. While that might sound expensive, I am sadly familiar with the cost and inconvenience of rebuilding a substantial part of a home after water damage. Given that I wasn't personally willing to go up on the icy roof to fix this, I was happy to pay them their requested rate for this work. The crew came out the next day. I was very impressed that they could get to us so quickly. However, part of how they did that was by budgeting no more than two hours to each service call. They were hitting the worst areas at each job and moving on. I was impressed with what they managed to get done in two hours. At the time, I thought that was fair of them. A lot of people needed their help, and they were getting to the worst of it on each job. I still think that. But it means that not everything was dealt with. In particular, I was able to roof-rake much of the front, but I can't get to the back of the house. They broke up the ice dams on the front, cleared a lot of the snow off, and shoveled out the walk and drive where they buried it. These were definitely the most important parts. But that meant the snow on the back roof was still there. It ended up causing some problems later as we added two more feet of snow in the following storms. So after a few weeks, I contacted Chris to see if they could return to revisit that part and remove some fresh ice dams from the front of the home. It took about a week and change for them to get to us this time, which was okay. I indicated in my email that I didn't have any active leaks in the house, so they were probably prioritizing appropriately. Eventually, during a lull between storms, they did get a crew back to finish the job. One note: There wassome damage done to the roof in removing this ice. By damage, I mean there are some small parts of shingles in the ice pile that came down off the roof. I don't hold that against them, as I think it's inherent in sending someone up to knock ice off a frozen roof. However, if you're going to be upset seeing shingle parts in your yard in the spring, it does appear that there are ice dam mitigation companies that use steam to do the work to avoid this problem. That's not how this work was done. It was brave souls on the roof with hand tools. Overall, I'm pleased with their work and I will hire them again.

I have a flat roof on the back of my house with some build up of ice and water coming in , I searched Angies list and found Northeast Maintenance Services and Chris .. I checked out all his reviews and comments by people that he did work for and was impressed with the glowing remarks and his prices seemed reasonable and fair. I looked at other places and was not overly impressed with the reviews that i was reading. I also noticed the Chris did other work and I am always looking for stuff to be done around the house. I sent Chris an message on 2/9/2015 asking if he would be able to come out and take a look at the flat roof and dam , i totally understood that it was a crazy time and didn't expect a response back that minute so I waited a few days and nothing. I then called the number listed on his Angie's list profile and left him a voice message with no return. I had to travel for work and my Mother staying at the house also left him a message asking if he could come by as now water was in the house. My brother was doing hat he could to keep things under control... but were not roofers and climb up on the roof is not something he or I were going to do alone hence why I asked for some help. I got back from work travel and sent another message to Chris on the 16th and still no word not even a call back or response. I understood that the world was in panic and people were calling and he has regular customers but at least call back because based on the new reviews you been doing work and answering your phone. Very disappointed in the lack of communication and professionalism especially after i was impressed with his reviews and work.

Had three ice dams caused by water sliding under the roof shield under shingles at the roof eaves edge. Due to the massive build up of ice on the gutters water was able to seep back up over the eaves and under the roof shield and shingles ( icicles had formed on the house itself) and eventually up and over the outer walls of the house. Called Chis on a Sunday night at 9:30 PM. He actually answered the call. Told me he might be able to send a crew out the next day. Now, this was a time when all roofers were booked solid and did not even return your calls. Chris's crew came out at 4:00PM the next day and worked into the night ( using miner type lights on their heads) to clear the roof and ice. Unbelivable response time and professional crew and job!!! Chris was just great!!

I manage my elderly mother's house in Newton and when she discovered she had ice dams on Tuesday night we had to act fast as there was water coming into the house from various places. Chris' crew came out the day he was contacted. The team was polite, on-time and very professional. They worked hard for 3+ hours and even came back later that night to finish their work. There pricing was very reasonable. It was quite a relief for the both of us to work with this company as they acted fast and got the job done. We highly recommend them.

Chris and Northeast Maintenance were great! Very responsive by phone, text, and email. They worked hard to make it to our house to clear roof during a VERY demanding time. Chris was clear and communicative on the phone and his team did a great job at a very reasonable price. Terrific experience and I recommend very highly!

We had an ice dam that we noticed was causing water to come into the house at around 8 pm at night. Chris answered the phone immediately and arranged for Jose and David to come round as soon as they had finished another job. They came round around 10 pm at night in freezing temperatures, got on the roof and fixed the problem. Service was excellent and I would certainly use them again. He also gave great advice over the phone, as did both David and Jose when they were at the house.

I had water coming into the house from an ice dam in the back. Chris answered my call immediately, juggled his crew's schedule so they could come by 2:00. They arrived at 1:30, and quickly resolved the problem. I was very impressed by Chris's professionalism and willingness to help someone who was not already a customer, in the middle of an already busy time cleaning up after the blizzard.

He was very nice and I was very pleased with his work. He was pleasant. He was very thorough and he explained things to my husband what needed to be done and whatever. What stood out was the fact that he actually came on a Sunday. I would definitely use him again. His work was excellent. He was very nice to my husband which is important. This is our first experience getting our gutters cleaned by a professional. It was just a pleasant experience to have somebody come and do that and do it correctly. He had given me a range of price and he was a little bit lower than the range he gave me, so I was delighted with that.

Chris does not service our area regularly but, I called him and submitted a request for service. I told him there was no rush. Within 1 or 2 weeks I got a call he was coming over. It was cold and snowing lightly but, he and his guys carefully moved my garbage cans and put a tarp over my deck to prevent the debris from falling on it. When they were done they noted that my drain pipe was clogged. Chris gave me advice on how to clear it and being a handy guy it was much appreciated. After a few minutes Chris grabbed his tools and cleared it himself.

I was very late (end of November) trying to find a company to clean my gutters. I found Northeast Maintenance through Angie's List. The company responded quickly to e-mails. They promised that they would be able to get the job done before winter. While cleaning the gutters, they found some areas where the gutters were pulling away and re-nailed those areas. They also suggested some other improvements that I might want to consider, but did not push me to sign up for more services. All around, I found Northeast Maintenance very professional, very responsive, and very courteous. I would definitely recommend them, and I plan to use them again.

From the first phone call, Chris was very kind and professional. He was able to give me a lot of information over the phone and answer my questions. He provided a rough estimate without seeing my house and the final price was in that range. He also provided a window of when he could perform the work and showed up within that time frame as promised. Chris and Rob did a great job and I plan on hiring them once a year to clean the gutters. I asked Chris about pressure washing the siding and he said they could do that as well in the future.

We are very happy with the work and will definitely call again!

Chris did a thorough job of cleaning out the gutters and downspouts and also checked the roof for any potential problems. He always leaves our property clean as he goes around the house picking up any debris left on the ground from the gutters. Chris definitely deserves the.Super Service Award again as he is dedicated to his customers and is someone you know you can count on in an emergency. For example:. a few years ago he came out at 10PM when it was sleeting out and cleaned the snow off our roof since we were expecting another 8 plus inches of snow again the next day. He had been cleaning roofs off all that day and when he says he will get to you he means it. Since then he has helped us out in that area many times. I highly recommend Chris and Northeast Maintenance as you can trust any job they do will be done properly and thoroughly plus they are reasonably priced. What makes him stand out is his extreme knowledge and expertise in many different areas and his compulsion to do the best job he can for his customer.

They did a great job. Upon initial contact Chris thoroughly explained how he does scheduling, talked about pricing, and gave me instructions what to do if I decided I wanted to use their services. We were given a 'ballpark' date as exact scheduling is difficult, but all that was explained up front. I was afraid they wouldn't be able to get to us with the early arrival of snow and low temperatures, but in their defense I did call late in the season, and I also asked for a late date hoping to get it done after all the leaves had come down, the leaves falling late this year. As it turned out, they were a few days later than the estimated date, but he had said to contact him again if that happened, and then he was better able to let me know when they would get to us. They came around dusk but were able to do the whole job very quickly, they were very professional, and they left everything clean. I am guessing about the final price, which I guessed at the higher end of what we discussed as our house is not typical with some out-of-the-way grooves that keep leaf piles, and gutters hard to reach. I thought his estimate was reasonable. I will update the review if the bill varies from his estimate dramatically, but I think that is unlikely.

I first contacted this provider via email. The office staff was quick in getting back to me regarding questions and dialogue. Then I called them directly and spoke with Chris-- he apologized that they had not gotten back to me with a date seeing as it is the busy season and of course weather is a factor when removing the leaves from gutters. Turns out he had availability that morning and was able to come by-- he was thorough, prompt and I was amazed well the clean up was-- both in the gutters and the surrounding areas. I am very pleased with the work and plan to have him come back next year.... and also have him give me an estimate regarding the condition of the gutters come the spring.

This is the 2nd year in a row that I've used Chris and his team to clean my gutters. They were on-time and friendly and while I haven't received the bill yet, last year's service was very reasonable. They will be coming back in the spring to rehang my gutters and repair the seam on the top of my roof.

This is the third time I've used Chris's services, and as always the results are great. Chris is a great communicator that discusses the details of the proposed work and then goes over the results with you when the job is complete.

Manny did a fantastic job. We had done some scraping and painting ourselves in the past and the paint in those areas did not quite match up so there were a couple of different hues of paint on the house. Manny is a fast and dedicated worker who does not stop once he gets going. He did not even leave for lunch so we had to beg him to take a break and eat something. All I can say is our house did not look this good when we had it painted originally. He even blended in the places that the paint was slightly different in color so everything is the same shade. He did such a great job with the scraping also and takes great pride in his work. I highly recommend Manny for painting and will be calling on him for any interior or exterior paint jobs in the future. Chris at Northeast Maintenance always comes through for us - he always hires the best of the best and he himself will go out of his way to take care of you. Definitely an A++ company.

As always, Chris did a great job. He not only put the tar on but checked the roof over for any potential problems as well as around the chimney and even did a quick check of the gutters. Chris is very thorough and we know when he leaves that we will not have any leaks from the roof over the winter. What a wonderful feeling as before we found Chris we had little faith in the expertise of anyone who did this for us. He was on his way to another job when he stopped at our house to do the work and always seems to be able to fit us in between jobs and never forgets us. I highly recommend Chris and Northeast Maintenance.

Chris is prompt in returning calls, great in clearing the ice dam even in the midst of a snowstorm. His professionalism is unmatched.

Chris and I set up an appointment a couple of months ago to have all our windows washed including our glassed-in/screened-in porch, confirmed by email last week, and after calling to let me know that he was on the way, he arrived promptly at the appointed time. His work is superb. The windows and screens were sparkling clean. The house was immaculate inside and out when he finished the job. His price was very competitive. I could not recommend Chris more highly. We will have him clean our gutters this fall after the leaves come down.
