I had a good experience with Joe and his team. It took a little while to get the job scheduled, but I wasn't in any rush. His price was competitive and driveway is certainly improved. I would use him again.

Joe gave me a price of $260 for the sealcoating of the driveway after he was done paving the driveway and said he could come back in several weeks to sealcoat. After calling him a couple of times he responded and let me know the weather being rainy was a problem and when it was dry again they could do it. He called today and got it done within 1.5 hours, sealcoating even parts of the driveway that he did not repave at the same quoted price. I would definitely use him again for any paving or concrete jobs I need done. He's down to earth, does the job well, and very often goes above and beyond the job required but always keeps his quoted price.

Dug up and repaved sunken and damaged areas of my driveway and added some new hot top to an area next to the driveway that is frequently driven over. Good communication and attention to detail. (Yes, as reported by others, Joe did initially ask me to call him back and leave a message, but it's understandable as contractors aren't always sitting and waiting for your call, pen in hand!) He made sure that the work was done to my liking and requested only a partial payment until the rest of the work (seal coating) is completed. I will report again when completed.

The job is 3/4 completed and I am extrememly satisfied with the work and level of professionalism that Joe and his crew demonstrated. He went over and above and spent a great deal of time taking care of the small details on the job such as grading the land around the garage he took down, sweeping the side walks and street, elevated a small garden on the parameter of the driveway and made numerous trips to Boston City Hall and Inspectional Services at my request. He has a great deal of patience and good sense of humor. He made me feel confident that this job was going to be executed in a professional manner.

Everything went excellently. He truly listened to our concerns and provided services accordingly. He did great work and completed everything on time.

I called and said I wanted to get my driveway repaved. A man answered the phone and told me to hang up, call back, and leave voicemail. That was kind of weird but okay, I did that. However nobody ever got back to me. It's like they're not interested in new business. Note: Based on another recent report it seemed like if they didn't call back after one message they also weren't going to call back after two messages. That's why I gave up on them after leaving only one message.

My husband and I called Primo twice and left messages explaining that we wanted an estimate for paving our driveway. The second time we explained that we hadn't heard back and really wanted the estimate given the high rating they had on Angie's List. We never heard a word from them. We have an answering machine and caller ID so it isn't possible that we simply missed their call. Their work may be good but their customer service is lousy! I'm surprised their rating is so high.

Primo Paving did an excellent job. I requested a quote from this company because of what I read of their prior work here on Angie's List. Joe of Primo Paving was a pleasure to do business with. He was very responsive, polite and accommodating. His price was very competitive and the work was excellent. Joe and his crew arrived and worked non stop even in the pouring rain. The only time they did stop was when Joe insisted his guys take a break and eat lunch. He clearly knows his business well and directed his men in a professional manner. He referred to his guy Rick who has more experience with plants and trees to ask his opinion on what would be the best way to move my split leaf maple tree. Rick took this over and did a wonderful job with that. It was a pleasure to see Joe, the owner, was not above being on the job and hopping on the equipment himself. As someone who grew up in a family business I was very impressed with this, because I know he doesn't have to do that, but did. He was there to make sure the job was done well, even though his men are more than capable. It was nice to see that the quality of the job done mattered to Joe enough that he was there himself. I love my new driveway and my split leaf maple is finally in a perfect spot. My neighbors who never noticed the tree before have commented on how nice it looks and have requested Primo Paving to do work for them. I would most definitely hire them again and in fact my brother and sister plan to use them in the future.

When Mr. Primeo estimated my job, I was looking for driveway repaving. He wanted a much bigger job- digging up the driveway, fitting a drain, repaving. He said his next job was cancelled. He offered me a good price if he could start right away. The price would be $7,000--total--including drain and sealing. He promised a written contract when he started. He did the work was promised but never gave a contract in spite of repeated requests. At the end of the job he asked for a personal check. He also said the job cost more than promised. He wanted $800 more. I paid the original $7,000 but could never get a receipt or invoice.In his visits and calls since, he has yelled, bullied and threatened legal action...but given no paperwork. The work was OK but communication, awful. I will meet Mr. Primeo halfway. I will pay an additional $340 for sealing but first I want a full written record of work and receipts for what I have paid. A proper, descriptive contract and invoice would have avoided the problem. My desired resolution is to get a contract and invoice in exchange for a final extra payment of $340 and a guarantee that this will conclude the matter.

I had called the company after seeing reviews here. Needed to seal coat the driveway. Joe gave me an estimate after I provided him with the approximate square footage of the driveway. He did give a $40 discount for being an Angies's List member. I reached him on a Saturday. Today I was home and I decided to follow up to ask him to do the job. He said he could come by within the hour as he was in the area (Lowell). He arrived on time. Job took less than an hour. Joe patched a small area where some loose asphalt had been dislodged. He gave me some advice on when to do the job again (about four years from now). I was very pleased with the job overall. It looks great. Only one minor complaint is that there was some overspray on to the edge of my grass, even though he edged it in first. Not a huge deal, but noticeable up close.

Joe and his young helper were very friendly and neat. Perhaps I should have pointed out a few minor cracks to their attention before their very efficient spraying operation. But overall, it was a satisfactory experience for a potentially "messy" job.

Joe provided me with an accurate quote and went above and beyond in terms of performance. He and his team were prompt, professional and efficient. I called on Thursday and they were able to accomodate the very next day! Highly recommend and my driveway looks great! Great attention to detail!

Initially, we were pleased with the work this company did. They were prompt and professional. This past Spring, after a cold winter, it became obvious that the quality of the asphalt used was poor. It would soften in the sun and our children would have tar on their clothes and shoes. I called the company in April and was told they would fix the problem. The problem was never fixed. I called 6 additional times there after, always being told they would come by to fix the problem. They never followed through with this and still the problem exists. Recently a bike kick-stand put a hole in the asphalt due to its softness. We are very dissatisfied with the end result of this work. We do not recommend this company since they did not stand behind their work and did not fix the problem as they verbally agreed to do.

Joe was easy to reach to obtain an estimate and schedule the work. He personally oversaw the work and ensured the quality and the work done was to my satisfaction before he left my property. I am very pleased with the quality of the work that was done and have had several neighbors comment positively about the work.

The gentleman Joe that came by was very patient with us. He came by three times. They were all hardworking guys, and he even did some work on my front door which he didn't have to do. I would recommend them to anyone that has paving work that needs done.

Joe did a very nice job. After the first time we made contact he was extremely professional and responsive. He came out immediately and provided a quote, warning me about what others would offer to do if they sold me a lower quote for cheaper quality work. I did not negotiate on price with him, because he offered to take out an old wrought-iron fence and add some pavers to a section of the driveway as part of the original estimate, and his estimate seemed reasonable to me based on what I had seen here and what I heard from others. Within 2 weeks, Joe and his team came out and completed the job over two days. The completed driveway looks excellent and Joe angled it the right way so that water (which used to collect in pools) now flows out of the driveway and into the street. He laid stones down to "side" the driveway and they looked good too. Joe was a pleasure to work with and clearly takes pride in his work. He asked me several times what I think about the quality of the work, and I have to say everything looks great. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

See previous post written immediately after work done in August 2008, which was positive. Subsequent hard rains washed away stone dust between the bricks in our walkway. I spoke to Joe 3 times regarding the problem, and each time he told me he would be back to fill in between bricks and/or leave stone dust for us. He never followed through. I then called last summer because of an indentation that developed in the driveway, and Joe said he would be out to take a look and possibly patch it, but he never showed. I gave up after a second call. We are left with an imperfect product in the end.

The job went extremely well. Joe called us back immediately, came out for the estimate when he said he would, booked the job shortly thereafter, and came with a huge crew and got everything done in a matter of hours. I really appreciated the "extra touches" as well, which included carefully digging up some forsythia bushes we were getting rid of and delivering them down the street to my neighbor - root ball and all - in perfect "replanting" condition. That was a nice customer service touch. But as for the driveway itself, it looks beautiful, and the grading looks perfect to me. I have already recommended Joe to some of my neighbors. He is not the the cheapest, but he did great work for us.

All in all I was very impressed with their efficiency, their speed and there major equipment. They brought it in on flatbed trailers, so the whole process went very fast. The paving machine is one of these gigantic machines. It was very efficient. He had a great crew working with him. They were all very good and they cleaned up after themselves. I had a little special request for things that would be nicer for my neighbor. They agreed to do it with no extra charge.

This contractor should get his act together for scheduling appointments. I called on 4/9/2010 and talked with someone who must have been on a cell phone as he had no access to writing anything. He said to call back the same number and leave a message to schedule an appointment. I did and did not hear back. I called again on 4/13/2010 and the same occured. I left a second message and he never called back. I eventually moved on and hired another contractor for my pavement job.

Great servive, quality and punctuality. Joe and his crew did everything while we were at work. We got home and everything was taken care of. Such a pleasure to work with Primo Paving. Highly recommended

It did not go well. They were twice as expensive as anyone else and they never followed up with a written proposal as they promised to do. I was very disappointed because they are highly rated. I was less than impressed. They were totally out of line with everyone else and I did not think they were professional. I think they are taking advantage of the fact that they are so highly rated and gouging people. I am a landscape designer and I deal with driveway people but I will never call this company again.

I called Mr. Deprimeo and he responded right away. He came out promptly as promised, reviewed the work needed, and gave me an estimate. He completed the work promptly and did an excellent job with all the repairs. This is the second time that I have used Primo Paving (He paved my driveway) and I am totally satisfied. I recommend him highly!

Quick to respond. Excellent service. Accurate estimate. The job was done within 1 week of the estimate. Excellent job, very professional. We would use Primo again and recommend to others.
