Straight Shooters General Contracting LLC

We haven't yet used Straight Shooters for any painting or home projects, but we do use them for snow plowing and snow removal and they are AMAZING. We have probably the worst driveway in all of MA (Sean agrees, it's one of the worst driveways they've ever plowed). It's a very steep hill which goes right up and into the garage so there is not a lot of places for the snow to go. We've been using SS now for the past 3 or 4 winters. They come by every 2.5/3 inches (which we asked for), they get out and shovel what they can't remove with the plow, and they've even left and come back with a different truck and other equipment if what they originally came with doesn't get the job done. They also suggested to us that every time they come, they lay down sand/salt, which makes it easier all around for everyone. This service is a little more money, but it's WAY worth it. We didn't have one incident this past winter where we couldn't make it up or down the driveway thanks to them. The best part about SS is that they are reliable. In the past we've had trouble with plow services not showing up, or agreeing to plow and then not even returning our phone calls when they don't come back (probably after they realize how difficult our driveway is) - which leaves us stranded in the morning with no way to get out and get off to work. Sean always returns my texts, and calls and they always show up right when they say they will be there. I have even had several times where the town has plowed me out of my own driveway, and I called Sean crying with my baby in my car because I couldn't get to my house and he sent someone right over to help. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to contract a plow service. I can't speak to their other offerings, but I would assume they are great. We will certainly be giving them a try for other things since we've been so happy with them thus far!

Our experience with Straight Shooters was great. Our roof needed replacing, especially after years of roof raking. Sean and his crew gave us a good price and timeline, showed up when they said they would and finished when they said they would. I would highly recommend Straight Shooters.

Our original plow guy we got this year stopped coming in the last storm, he was always late and never did the driveway the way we wanted it done. Our neighbor used the Straight Shooters to plow for the last two years and had nothing but good things to say about them. We called them up after the storm and they took care of us, they plowed it the way we wanted, and they shoveled our roof off and took off the ice dams. It was a pleasure dealing with Sean and the Straight Shooters, we finally have a reliable plow guy!

Excellent. My wife and I would highly recommend Straight Shooters to anyone looking to remodel a bathroom or kitchen. We were recommended to Straight Shooters by one of my coworkers. She told us that they were "unlike any contractor she had ever dealt with." We are very happy to say, that she was right. The two things that stood out to us the most was the attention to detail and how clean the job site was every day they left. The owner Sean let us know from the start of the estimating process that his team was very busy, and gave us a realistic timeline of when they could start and finish the projects. We called 5 other contractors, and only 2 called us back, and one actually followed through with an estimate. The job was on budget and on schedule, every single member of the crew was great and very easy to talk to if we had any questions. It was a pleasure to work with the Straight Shooters, and we look forward to working with them in the future!

It was wonderful. I use crutches to walk so there are times during the winter where I would get stuck in the house for weeks at a time. Which is why I called Straight Shooters. I told them what I needed - and they did such a great job, every time it snowed. Salted and shoveled. And this was during a really intense Winter! I'm really indebted to them for doing the job they did, truly. The only reason I don't use them anymore is because I moved out of their area.

My husband and I went away on vacation, finally got some time to relax! Just to get home to a very nice welcoming gift... we had a pipe burst causing water damage throughout the home.After doing a walk through with Sean, he put us at ease. He was able to communicate exactly what needed to be done. We felt comfortable with him and his crew doing the work, they were very knowledgable. So, we decided to go with Straight Shooters upon receiving the estimate later on that night. They were a pleasure to work with, both my husband and I, were extremely happy with how the finished product came out. The crew of carpenters and painters did an excellent job of making the interior of our house from a water damaged mess, to a place we can call home again. We would recommend Straight Shooters for any work that you may need done.

Pauline called me to set up an appointment for Thursday October 8, 2015 at 12:30. I told her I would use my lunchtime to meet the estimator. I came home at 12:15pm and waited until 1:00pm at which time I called and left a message that I was home and would need to get back to work at 1:30. They never showed up nor did they return my call to reschedule.

We met Sean by accident, he and his crew were at our neighbors this winter clearing roofs. We had another contractor quote us triple what Sean quoted us, and the other contractor didn't even show up. Luckily, I was able to walk over to our neighbor's house and ask him if he and his crew could come over and clear our roof. It was getting late, and he and his crew did it for me. I was very happy with them, considering how reasonable they were and I was willing to pay almost anything to get it done. I told Sean I would call him once we got all of our insurance numbers, we got on the schedule for early August in February. They are extremely busy, which I can understand after knowing how hard and well the Straight Shooters work. I was incredibly happy with everything Sean and his team did for us, from replacing all the rot due to the ice dams, and cutting out the water damaged dry wall and replacing it. They were very clean and polite, Matt the crew leader was able to always answer my questions, and it never felt like I was bothering him with anyone of my numerous questions. We concur with all of the reviews, they are as good as advertised. They have us in the schedule for Spring when they can remodel our old Master Bathroom, we are looking forward to that. Thanks Guys

Straight Shooters General Contractors did a great job painting my house trim. They were professional, quick, and cleaned up after the job was done.

They called on a Friday and said they would be there at 9:00 am Monday. There was snow overnight and they said they would be there at 12:15 pm as they had plowing to do. They removed ice from three different areas on the roof.and put a pail of ice melt up behind the ice dams.

After leaving messages with 8 other companies about removing snow and ice dams from my house, I was worried that everyone was too busy from the recent snowstorms and warnings of roof collapses. I was also wary about price gouging, as I had heard horror stories of people being quoted $2500 to clear snow from small ranches. After leaving a message with Straight Shooters, Sean called me back within minutes, quoted me a very reasonable price ($500), and said he could be at the house within a couple of hours. He and his crew (4 men total) arrived on time, cleared the roof quickly, and took care not to take off any shingles as they removed the ice dams. Sean also carefully explained what he was doing.

Sean & his team were fantastic, especially compared to the other contractors I called (2 never called back and a third said I had to commit to paying a MINIMUM of $900, regardless of actual amount of time involved, and that was BEFORE this most recent -- 2/14 -- snow storm). Sean asked me several questions about my particular snow/ice dam situation which gave me a lot of confidence he knew how to approach and prioritize jobs. He then committed to being here today with his people, after last night's additional 8" of snow and during today's high wind/bitter cold conditions, and followed through MORE THAN 100%. I say that because not only did he clear the roofs of snow, but he and his co-worker also removed all of the snow from my front stoop and back deck and they shoveled a path from the driveway to each of them for the same, initially quoted price. Oh, and when I discovered during his visit that my electric garage door was getting stuck after opening only 1-1/2 feet and then at 3 feet? He helped me with that, too....... for no extra charge. Sean & his team were there for me when I really needed them. And I look forward to hiring them again this spring for several home remodeling projects I've had on a list but have been too timid to pursue: interior & exterior painting, some new flooring, powerwashing, and maybe more. Polite, friendly, courteous, quality service. Kept their promises in the toughest of circumstances. I think I'm in love!

Overall, we were very pleased with Straight Shooters. The job was quite delayed from the original start day (May to August), but we told them we were in not rush and okayed the initial move. Seeing how much detail they put into the work, I can understand why there calendar was so off. They work long days to ensure every part of the job was done right. We were happy with the final outcome of the job - the painting looks great and my roof looks brand new. My only "gripe" are our decks - they convinced them to have them power washed and stained, but they actually look worse. I really wish we had just kept them as-is. It was not worth the price, at all. The crew was nice. The first batch of guys didn't do a thorough job though, so they had to stay longer to re-do the work. I appreciate that the project manager was honest and upfront about that. Communications overall could have been a little better, if we didn't chase them down each day I would not have known what was going on. I also would have liked a final "walk through" on their very last day as there was a few small items that I never got to address. I think small additions like this would have really improved the process. However, the house looks nice, so we'd still recommend them and the work.

From the start they were the easiest contractors to reach for an estimate, we called Sean and he actually answered the phone. He was on time to the estimate and clearly explained each step of the job to my husband and I. We had scheduled to meet with 4 local contractors and only 3 showed up and the only one that didn't call to move the time was Sean. We decided to go with Sean and the Straight Shooters after receiving a very detailed estimate. Of course we had a lot of questions, which he answered for us over the phone. The straight shooters team came into our house and did a fabulous job of completing the project on time and on budget. The one thing that blew our minds was how clean it was every day when we came home from work, with all of the demo and cutting that went on, there was no dust! Our kitchen and bathroom now look like I have always wanted, thanks to Sean and his team. My husband and I highly recommend the Straight Shooters.

First of all the quality was excellent. I was concerned with how much of a mess would come with a paint job but I was happy to see that they cleaned up very well. The exterior paint job only took a week to complete. When the job was finished sean and I did a walk through to make sure that I was happy with how everything turned out and I was. I have even received complements on how great my home looks now!

Working with Sean and the Shooters was a fantastic experience. The finished product was immaculate and my wife and I could not be happier. Sean and his team were friendly, on time, clean and explained every detail of the job. Sean was extremely reliable with giving me proper pricing and finishing before the estimated time of completion. He coordinated his schedule around mine and made everything run smoothly with the electrician, plumber, and painters. My phone calls were answered promptly and my questions were answered soon there after. In this day and age it is very difficult to find reliable people and with 20 years of dealing with contractors under my belt, this was by far the best experience I have had. I would highly refer Straight Shooters to do anybody's home improvement work.

The experience was wonderful. The estimate they gave me was clear and explained all of the details. The entire process went extremely smooth from the estimate to the final touches. There was no aggravation using the Straight Shooters like we have had with other contractors. Sean and his crew were reliable, on time every day and their eye for detail was spectacular. They are hands down the cleanest contractors we have had work on our house and we have had many! I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs any work done to their house. We are actually going to have them remodel our kitchen this winter.

I found Sean and his team online when I was looking for a local contractor to wash my house. Sean was very responsive and easy to work with. He gave me an estimate over the phone and came to the house the following day to meet me. His team was able to do the job within the next week. They were very helpful and my house came out great. Very happy with them and would recommend them in the future for power washing and deck washing.

They did fine job in fixing initially (roof moss cleanup), and promised to come back and fix anything left later. But they didn t follow through with their promise, which to me is much more important in this kind of business - which depends on word of mouth - than really being the most skill full contractors in the world. In fact the guy wouldn t even answer my calls, and only after many calls he picked up the phone and he was impolite and discourteous - this was just for saving around 50 dollars! In summary, Straight Shooters are anything but

I used them several times and they are still working on our house. They are very responsive. They come out. They care of things. I trust them implicitly and they are very good people to work with. Their price is reasonable.

We hired Sean and his team to clean our gutters late in the season! He was easy to reach (via email, yay) and very responsive. We set up a time for him to come by and we didn't even need to be home. We just left a check for him. Unfortunately, it snowed the week he was supposed to come so the gutters froze and the job ended up taking the team over 4 hours on two different days to remove all the snow. When I asked Sean if he needed us to pay more for the unplanned hours, he said that he would honor the original price. And, you can be sure we will be calling Sean and team every year for our gutter removal and will consider them for other projects. Good customer service goes a long way!

I really wanted to like Straight Shooters. I had them clean my neglected gutters in the fall shortly after I bought my house. They said they were busy and could get to it "next week." Three weeks and several phone calls later I finally got them out to clean the gutters. They gave me a discount to make things right. Because they seemed genuinely apologetic, I was willing to give them a second chance. I asked them to clean the gutters again after all the leaves came down. They said they would get to it Friday Dec 13. I taped a check to the house that day, but they didn't come. It was going to snow Saturday and I really wanted them clean before it snowed. I left messages Friday afternoon and Saturday. I never got a call back and assumed they didn't want my business. Imagine my surprise when they showed up on Dec 23 and cleaned my gutters. No discount this time. Both times, they did a fine job, but I can't recommend them for anything you need done on a schedule. I'll be looking for someone else to do the bigger remodeling jobs I want to do.

Sean and Leigh, came to our house for an estimate, both extremely clean cut and sharp young men, which is not what we have seen before in the previous few estimates we had with other painting contractors. They explained to us what needed to be done while walking around the house, my husband and I knew we wanted them right away, it is hard to put into words, but they were so different from the rest, it was refreshing. We received a very organized estimate with a bunch of references, and of course we went with them to paint the exterior of our house and fix rotted wood. We also added in some interior work as well, and we again were very pleased. They stared the job on time, and finished it on time. We both work in the city so, we would see Sean and Leigh early before heading in, and one of the services they provide is actually throughout the day you can see your house transform with the use of twitter. Sean or Leigh would take pictures and upload them, so that we both could see what was going on. Both Sean and Leigh were very easy to get a hold of through email, which is the only way both my husband and I can communicate during the day. We had high expectations and the exceeded everyone one of them, overall we haven't had that easy of a time with a contractor since we moved in here 13 years ago. We have a beautiful home once again thanks to the Straight Shooters. Thanks Guys

My wife and I have dealt with many contractors in the past 20 years of owning our home. The Straight Shooters had been mentioned to us by a friend, who has never once gave a good review of the contractors she had used in the past. I called them up, left a message on a Saturday, and Sean called us right back within the hour. We set up a time for the estimate and he was right on time and we walked around the house and felt very comfortable with him. Most estimates are uncomfortable, but Sean's personality and knowledge about painting and carpentry put us at ease. After the walk around he pointed out some things we didn't notice and told us that he would have the estimate to us by the end of the day. Which I have heard a lot in my time, but again, the Straight Shooters came through with the most detailed estimate we have ever recieved. We had three estimates to choose from, and they were right in the middle, and we went with them not just because of the estimate or the price, but because we felt as if they would take care of our house the best. The job was started on time and finished on time, with absolutely no issues. It was the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. The Straight Shooters crew were all very nice, clean, and very hard working. Jim the master carpenter was a magician, fixing what needed to be fixed and saving what he could to save some us some money. Sean and his partner Leigh was always on the job site, answered everyone of our questions, no matter how crazy they seemed, politely and with a smile. They were very easily accesible via phone or email, which again is not true with most contractors we have dealt with. We had used Straight Shooters to clean the inside of our gutters the previous year, and based on that experience we had no hesitation calling them for this job. Since we had slightly neglected our gutters until last year, the outside of the gutters had suffered from overflow (due to the insides not being cleaned out as often as they should), and thus the outside of the gutters had the build up making them look grimy. When I called Straight Shooters, I asked about cleaning the outside of the gutters, and they said they do that using a environmentally friendly bleach product that is safe on plants. I mentioned that we had new plantings immediately below the front gutters and they took extra care to keep those safe. They came when they told me they would, did the job, and cleaned up the area to the point I would not have known they were there. The gutters look great now, and of course the rain run off is going down through gutters as opposed to over them. Overall, Straight Shooters did an excellent job and I will be using them again in the future.
