Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

It was awesome. It was all good. He came on a Sunday and fixed it and it was done.

I live in a condo and the unit above me had a plumbing accident. Water flowed from its bathroom area and flooded my bathroom and kitchen area. Chase Cheramie with Roto Rooter (and Craig Humphrey) came within a few hours of the accident and began restoration services. By the next day, I had about a dozen fans & dehumidifiers working in my unit. I was very impressed with the professionalism of Chase and Craig. They knew what was needed. And their equipment was first rate. Every piece was clean. Every piece that had a filter looked like the filter was brand new. The water restoration was completed as promised -- and the water restoration saved my (expensive) wood floors and kitchen cabinets. Thank goodness. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chase, Craig and Roto Rooter.

I called them once, and they were fantastic. I would use them again in a heartbeat. They were very punctual.

The two guys were not professional at all. They have no kind of personality. When they did the testing, I have a pipe that was broken and they didn’t give me a clear explanation of what is the cost was. It was about $800 and it was a lower cost than the rest but because of their personality, I don’t think I’d call them back again. I was kind of skeptical about them because the rest that I have gotten before explained to me about everything. When I went outside, I showed them the pipe and they didn’t look. They put on the garments and went under the house then they just looked. They showed no interest. They didn’t do anything because I wanted to get an estimate. I will not let them do anything. They didn’t explain what pipe it is, what’s exactly wrong with the pipe and what kind of pipe they would put in. They could have given me a little more explanation. Everything was lousy.

Sunday, June 29, 2014 my husband was cutting the yard on our riding mower when he noticed that there was water bubbling out of the ground around the water meter. We immediately contacted the water company and they came out to inspect. Yes, I know hard to believe the water company came out on Sunday. The water company dug from the meter toward the house exposing the shut off valve and pipe, and discovered that we had a broken pipe on our side of the meter. They shut off the water and advised us to call a plumber. My husband immediately called the Thibodaux Roto-Rooter number, explained to the representative what the problem was and they gave us an 8 am - 12 pm time slot for the next morning. The two gentleman got to my house around 9:30 am, which I was more than please with since they did have to drive from New Orleans to get to my home. I asked later if I was their first appointment and they said yes. They asked what the issue was and I explained what had happened and brought them over to the site. They assessed the situation and agreed with the water company that it was a break on our side of the meter right behind the shut off valve about 2 feet from the meter. They went upfront to the hardware store and purchased the parts needed to fix the pipe. They installed a new shut off valve and the pvc pipe from the valve to the meter. They put back the original piece of pvc on top of the valve that makes it accessible from above ground. Finally they put the dirt that the water company had dug up back into the hole to cover everything up again. They were very friendly and patient with me since I kind of stood over them watching the progress lol...I am suggesting that Roto-Rooter get their workers umbrellas like the phone companies have so that way they can have some shade while working in this hot sun. From the time they arrived to the time they left (a trip to the hardware store included) they finished the job in about 1.75 to 2.00 hours. Ok now the part where everyone cringes...paying the bill. Now let's think about this who LIKES to pay a bill? Anyone? Anyone? Exactly! So with that being said, when he first told me the price I thought, and quot;wow that's a little priceyand quot; since the digging was already done and damaged assessed by the water company the day before, but then I thought about it and this is what I came up. 1) I called on Sunday and got the first appointment for the next day. 2) They have to travel from New Orleans to Raceland (about 35 - 45 miles) 3) I had 2 very friendly and professional, licensed plumbers doing the work. 4) They travel and take care of the supplies for the job. 5) They can fix my problem, I can't. 6) They were out in the sun and heat with no shade. 7) They got the job done! 8) The price was reasonable and competitive with other local service providers. So with all that being said, I was very satisfied with every aspect of my experience with Roto-Rooter and would call them again in a heartbeat!

Very polite, very nice, very professional. When I called them they said they would be there in 30 min and they were. I would not hesitate calling them again.

I didn't end up hiring them because of costs, but the gentlemen was kind and explained to me what I needed to do (probably as least condescendingly as he knew how) and I went ahead and figured out how to do it myself over a period of time. It was great that the estimate was free, even though I didn't hire them for services, the information proved to be very helpful to my work.

The company was very responsive. The technician was friendly and helpful. He gave us advice on trying to avoid the problem in the future.

After making my appointment for service, I was contacted before my appointment time to confirm, again to explain a delay the tech had, and just prior to arrival. Even with the tech's delay, he still came in my appointment window. The tech was very thorough and explained every aspect of the problem. He was able to clean my clog, but showed me on the scope that my drain pipes were not aligned, He explained exactly what needed to be done, the approximate cost, and even though he was unable to unclog the tub, he made suggestions and told me the approximate cost. He was very professional and even though it was nearly 10 PM when he finished, and still had another job to go on, he did not rush his explanation and cleaned up after the job.

The technician arrived within an hour of my call. He fixed the problem quickly and efficiently, and was very courteous. I think that's great service!

Drain line was clogged, called Roto Rooter on a Friday and a plumber showed up that evening. Tried to snake down the toilet drain and kept snaking up the vent instead - the plumber had no idea how to snake a drain. Next plumber to come out with camera on next day from 8-12. Instead, plumber arrived at 3 p.m. without camera. Snaked same drain and hit the clog, but said drain was still backing up. Called supervisor and said plumber would come out with camera on Sunday from 12-2. Left church early to meet plumber but no show. Called dispatcher and said we weren't on the schedule for that day. Set up plumber for Monday from 8 - 12, but plumber arrived at 5 p.m. but this time with camera. Plumber put camera out 90 feet into the main sewer line and found no clog - evidently the Saturday plumber freed the clog but didn't realize it? The last plumber was the only truly competent plumber of the three that came out. Service call is expensive, but they do come out on weekends and evenings. Would use again as a last resort.

Our sewer lines backed up unexpectedly (no previous signs of slowing, etc.) on a Sunday morning. We checked under our house and water was seeping out of every drain pipe joint, indicating something systemic. The plumber arrived within the hour of my request, which was easy to make. He put on booties to enter the house and was very polite. The total job took maybe an hour and all seems to be working just fine now. I didn't comparison shop due to the nature and timing of the problem. I did use a coupon for the service, which was available both on this website and the provider's site.

I had some trouble with a slow kitchen sink drain, which eventually became a blocked kitchen sink drain. I was able to clear the blockage from the kitchen sink, but then realized all the water from the kitchen sink was backing up in the bathtub. Of course all of this would happen late Saturday night. By Sunday morning, the water in the tub had not gone down even a little bit, so I gave Roto-Rooter a call. They were able to send a serviceman to the house within an hour of my calling on Sunday. The serviceman was very professional and he was able to clear the blockage without issue.

This was my first time working with them. The whole service went smoothly. They were pleasant to work with and I would recommend their services.

They were great, fantastic, came out and did the job in a timely manner. They had great customer service.

Called the day before and was told to be home between 8am and 12pm for the guy. I get a call at 12:30pm and was told he would be there as soon as possible. guy calls again at 2:55pm and says he is almost here then does not show up until 4:20pm. Comes out takes one look under my house then says he needs to pull my toilet to snake the drain and it would be $360 to even attempt to clean it out. If he gets is working or not it was going to be $360... ahhh no I will try someone else first thanks but no thanks

At 8:50 am, I received a call informing me that the dispatcher would call back when the plumber was finished with his current job. At 9:39, I received a second call informing me that he would be calling back within an hour to tell me what the progress was. by 11:15, I had not received a phone call. I called and was connected to the dispatcher. He repeated his spiel that he had told me at 8:50 and 9:39. When I said, "You've told me that twice. Can you give me a time?" He started yelling at me, "No, I can't give you a time!" He continued yelling, but I cut him off and told him not to come. I then called back to tell the person who answered the phone that I didn't need the service any longer because of the way I was treated. The person who answered the phone suggested that I tell the manager. After telling the story to the "manager" (who said his name was Tom), he said, "I will listen to the tape and talk to him. I apologize." I asked why I had to tell him if that's all he had to say, and he said, "What do you want me to say?" At which point I laughed and hung up the phone.

They showed up on time and did a good job. I was a bit apprehensive since I just Googled their information and took a chance in hiring them. But they showed up when promised and did the work that was needed. He also explained the work he was doing. What was convenient was I was able to pay over the phone.

I had just gotten my new Washing Machine and Dryer delivered and installed that day by Home Depot. I began to use it and heard loud banging noises. I went to my Laundry area of my garage to check, and stepped into 2" of water. I saw the drain pipe from the washer was on the floor. I placed it back in the drain pipe in the wall, and saw that the water was backing up and out. I called Roto-Rooter and told the answering service I wanted to schedule an appointment for Monday, as I did not want to pay exorbitant prices due to it being Saturday 6pm. He asked me what the problem was and informed me that their charges are the same 7 days per week. He said he would have someone out in an hour. Greg the serviceman was at my house within 45 minutes. He serviced my washing machine problem, noted the PVC piping was not up to code, changed this out with the connector, and told me that the washer and dryer was hooked up wrong and he fixed that as well. He then did an inspection of my entire home plumbing. He was extremely efficient and had a very professional demeanor.

They did excellent work. Punctual, and professional. Very determined to do the job.

Did not keep the appointment date.

Trey came in and quickly did the work. He spent time checking to make sure the leak was taken care of. Roto Rooter has never let me down.
