The technician from Burkhardt Air Conditioning was professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. During the air conditioner inspection, it was discovered that a drainage line was blocked, which was then flushed and restored by the technician. The technician took the time to explain the importance of this line and what to look for in the future should the line become blocked again. It was also discovered that the unit was low on refrigerant (a reason that the house was not cooling down properly) and refrigerant was added at a very reasonable cost. Due to the fact there is a leak somewhere in the ac system that caused the low refrigerant, a return visit in the fall was discussed in order to locate the leak and perform routine maintenance. I was extremely pleased with the service I received and look forward to continuing service with this company.

Awesome service. Very professional. Came when they said they would and the charge was reasonable.

Lousy. Wish I'd called someone else. Never even offered any alternative or lower priced systems just shoved the full boat down our throat. Had to come out 7 yes seven times since install for substandard installation. Failed to provide requested additional service (attic access stairs) as requested befor the install. Damaged our closet walls during install. Never repaired the damage. The attic stairs we requested to be installed was to prevent damage, instead they ignored the request and did what they wanted to do anyway. The carpenter they insist to come out and install the requested stairs never holds his appointment time, is rude vulgar and insulting. His name is David Senez.. David has promised to install the stairs as far back as December 20th and todays date is February 20th. I wanted the job done during the HVAC install to have it all billed on one invoice for finance purposes. Burkhardts will not use any other carpenter or assist with any other carpenter to have this job on one bill. to this day one vent still does not blow properly and I'm simply tired of dealing with these people. Choose another Heating/Air Conditioning contractor and not these people....... that is if you don't mind 7 follow ups because it's not done right.

They previously did a very good job of setting up a home generator. They also get very high marks for being responsive. When you call them they answer. I have had somewhat less luck with my air-conditioning system. It had stopped working and they clean the fan and now it is able to function. The charge was substantial and the fan now makes much more noise. I later consult with them because the fan was operating at different speeds in the cooling and heating mode. They came out and inspected the entire system again. The charge for that was again substantial. All they really had to do was to tell me that The fast and slow fan speed is the way the system is supposed to work. And the fan still makes too much noise?

The price was terrible for the quality of work.

Work was done in a single day. I was very satisfied with the quality of the work and the speed with which it was done.

Our Katrina contractor hired Total Maintenance Inc. to install our AC system, and we initially used them to maintain it. We gradually discovered (our suspicions grew over time) that they had mis-sized ducts, left large opening in the back of the attic portion of the unit, sucking in hot, dirty air, and countless other errors (this is not their review). The system never worked properly despite many ($$) efforts by TMI. We hired Burkhardt to diagnose and clean up the mess. It took $$$, and a number of visits (to discover all of the bizarre screwups (byTMI), but we now have new ducts, no holes, no sweating, good flow to all rooms, and much higher efficiency.

Excellent. The Service Technician arrived on time and was very professional. He explained about each AC unit and heating system he inspected and fully cleaned. The service visit was followed up by professional phone call asking my opinion of the service performed and Technician. I will use Burkhardt again and would recommend this company to my neighbors and friends.

Everything we smoothly and they were very professional, but be willing to spend a pretty penny.

This is not the first AC company I've called since moving to the Northshore, it's also not the second, but it's surely my last. Burkhardt seems to be on top of their game and are open to all of the new technologies now available. Seth was knowledgable, polite, honest, and he went way above and beyond while on the job. I'm keeping their number close for all my future AC and Generator work. I will be using, and recommending Burkhardt in the future.

They did a great job, on time, with a great attitude. I would recommend them to everyone.

We have used Burkhardt for three years' worth of A/C issues. They are always on-time, professional, and conservative. No runaround or upselling here. The last occasion was in July 2013, when one of our A/C stopped blowing cold air. We called Burkhardt, and they made an evening call that same day to fix the problem. (There was a small additional charge, which we were all too happy to pay.) They came right out, had the parts in stock, and made the fixes within a half hour. Previously, they performed similar services for us, all timely, professional, and did not cost an arm and a leg. In sum, they are quick, professional, and trustworthy, and highly recommended.

My AC was not blowing cool air. I called Burkhardts and spoke with Josh. He was friendly and had his technician out there that afternoon. Their technician Seth was very friendly and professional. He found a locked compressor. Due to the age of my system he recommended that I replace it rather than put the money into my old system. He did a great job of explaining the problem and recommending several options to me. I felt very comfortable and confident in his recommendations. The installation crew came the next day and were extremely nice. They made sure my house was clean and explained everything (the t-stat and first year of my agreement) before they left. I highly recommend this company to anyone who wants professional and honest service.

We schedule service twice a year with Burkhardt to check our A/C before summer months and furnace before winter months. On the last A/C visit the tech recognized a valve that could potential break off and cause our a/c to go out in an untimely event. $60 additional to replace, no biggie. In replacing the valve, the freon completely leaked out and he had to recharge the entire system in addition to the other service provided. at the end of it all we had close to a $400 bill in addition to the bi-annual service that we have already paid for. Disappointing, but the team Tyler and Brian were very professional and courteous. They both took the time to explain what happened and what could have happened. I do not know if all the services provided were necessary or not, however I do trust the Burkhardt team and approved the services after speaking with them while the tech was at the house. I received a follow up call from John Burkhardt to make sure we understood what happened. General concern and customer service goes a long way in a sticky situation.

Burkhardt Air Conditioning was the lowest of 4 contractors I requested estimates from. Tyler (sales rep) was extremely attentive to my requests and promptly returned all my phone calls...even answering email late in the evening when I did not expect a reply until the following morning. The installation crew was great. My installation presented some unique challenges that they handled very professionally. I am extremely satisfied with the 2.5 ton Mitsubishi Mini-Split AC/Heat Pump Tyler recommended. It cools the den, kitchen, living, laundry rooms better than I can remember in many many years. Not that it really matters to me but the Mitsubishi is very very quiet. I would highly recommend anyone in Burkhardt's service area that needs anything AC/Heating related from new installation to service to definitely give them a shot.

00.00 Very prompt; I called on a weekend and they showed up and began work early Monday morning. The work was done outside on the compressor and inside on the air handler. The work on the compressor was difficult to do because it required getting into the unit to accomplish the necessary welding. All of the work was done professionaly. I regret that I can't remember the names of the two men who did the work, but you, and they, know who they are. Thank you for the prompt service!!

Always on time and efficient

Burkhardt's Air Conditioning. I had a new unit installed by them. Everything was okay. I am getting ready to call them again soon, so I'm glad about that you know. They were courteous. The installation was alright. I am going to have them check it, I think I may be having a problem, I'm not sure. They were professional. I spent about $1,000 it was for a new unit inside and out. They came out about a year ago, I did have service from on another unit, it was very professional and reasonable and everything else.

It went extremely well. People were prompt, competent [I assume] and professional in every way.

When I called they had very short notice but responded quickly and to get things done before the weekend. They were very flexible with scheduling. Everything was delivered as promised and their communication was great. Once the work was completed they followed up twice. The workers that came were very professional and neat. After they were done they cleaned up nicely and left their area clean.

They gave me a great discount on their services so what is $14000 would have been $20000. They are at the top of their field at what they do. They are knowledgeable, professional all the way round. We would use them again.

There was a $94.00 "diagnostic charge" to come to my house to evaluate the problem. We were told the fan motor had to be changed. My husband thought the charges were excessive, especially when we were told the $94.00 evaluation fee was not waived when we hired them to do the job.This is the first time I have ever been charged the estimate fee unless the job was not awarded. The repairman said "well if you don't want to do the work, you still owe me the $94". That's common, however if you give the company the work, the estimate charges in my experiences have always been waived. Then this person tells us he doesn't have the motor and will have to go to the distributor to pick it up and charges us a $58 "pick-up fee". We felt we didn't want to waste $94 so he left, picked up the motor and it took about 15 minutes to do the actual work. I feel like I have been overcharged and really screwed over with the "pick up fee". It's not my fault they didn't have the motor. Very unprofessional, hidden charges. ******7/20/2012 I feel in all fairness I needed to respond, the $58.00 pick up fee was not stated anywhere, as I said in the original report, hidden fees. I stand by that statement. The 2nd unit that was replaced was under warranty, not replaced out of the goodness of their hearts. We were very dissatisfied and would not recommend or call again due to attitude and unprofessionalism of employees.
