From the start when we were looking at other homes, I could see marks on the walls from staples. Stan, the sailsman at Oak Creek, told us that we would not see any marks on the walls of any of his homes. He garanteed that if we had any problem with the finished product they would send out a contractor to take care of any details. When the home arrived the movers had driven nails through the roof, through their cigarett butts all over my property that I paid a lot of money to clear and clean, left their trash from the move, and tried to get out of instaling all the tie-downs. After inspection of the brand new $45,000 home I could see every stapeled area of the wall, their was paint on the carpet, missed painted areas, molding that was not straight, construction dust everywhere, a deep scratch or break in the livingroom floor, cabinett door not strait, and on and on. The next day my wife showed up at Oak Creek to complain. Stan greeted her at the door and asked if everything was allrite. She began to complain, beginning with the walls, rember he was the one that promised we would not see the stapeled areas. All of a sudden she herd a ruff voice from the back office " BRING HER BACK HERE, NOW ". This unplesent person was Donna. She was with us when we sined the paperwork and is over the service department. My wife said she would not even look at her when she spoke and did not even listen to the complaint. Donna demanded a complete list of problems to be addressed and told her she had one chance to have a contractor repair whatever needed repair. My wife, being a professional, explained that we had a seven year waranty and she could see that we had made a mistake doing buissness with the likes of her. Then walked out. Stan called me to appoligize and promised they would take care of any problems. I made an extensive list and submitted it to Donna by e mail. Linda, from the manufactured home site in Texas, called me to clearify the list. I told her that most of the problems could have been fixed if someone would have inspected the home before shipment. She then dispached a contractor to repair the items on the list. The contractor showed up and began repairing the areas. He said that he could dress up the stapeled areas on the wall but he said this was normal and that is how the walls are going to look. but he did admitt that there was some slopy work from the manufacturer. He dressed up what he could and did a great job of covering the break the the floor allthough I know its there you can only see it up real close. In the areas where the texture on the ceiling were cracked (I understand this does happen durring the move) he repaired them but left lines from where he taped the area off. A different contractor came and installed the skirting and did a good job but left a bunch of cut pices piled on the side and after a good wind I had to pick them up all over the place. I spoke with Donna about all this over the phone and she said Linda would call me back. A few days later I spoke with Linda, I explained how disappointed we were with the product and service we recieved, that I was a member of Angies List, and I am going to write a review covering my entire experience with Oak Creek. I could have bought a manufactured home from another place for $30,000.00 TTL. Had the walls striped, taped, floated, and textured for a lot less than $15,000.00. And had a lot less headache. Her reply was she would send the contractor back out to fix the lines left in the ceiling. That was in January, its now March and I have not heard anything from them and don't care to. You know, the worst thing about the service we recieved was that none of the people I spoke to ever even asked or attempted to come out and look at the product after it came to me.
Description of Work: My wife and I cleared off an acre of land to put a manufactured home on for our son and his brand new family. After looking around and speaking to most manufactured home dealerships in the area we decided to spend the extra money and buy the higher qualty home through Oak Creek Homes. They offered a seven year bumper to bumper warranty. Most others offered a one year with an option of one or two year extended warranty.
