The customer service representative was very friendly about getting a service technician to us quickly. We were very impressed with Drexler's service and professionalism. Mike H. was quick in diagnosing our problem, which was an issue with the dishwasher rather than a frozen pipe. Thanks for the late evening service call at a reasonable price. We will certainly call again for our plumbing needs.

My husband had purchased a 25 foot snake from a hardware store and had unstopped our sink a few months ago. In December, the sink was stopped up again. We called Tom Drexler, who was very prompt. They accessed the problem and told us how much it would cost before they started any work. The plumber ran a 25 foot snake (larger in diameter than my husband used) and unclogged the drain. He told me that this would be guaranteed for 30 days. He sold me a powder solution ($49 for a two year supply) to put in the drain once a month. It's been almost two months and the drain is still clear. Our total bill (with the powder solution) was $147.50.
Description of Work: The plumber ran a 25 foot snake through our kitchen pipes to unclog the sink.

Everything was done quickly and efficiently. Very professional. Had used another company for several years. They were very expensive & didn't solve the problem. Drexler took care of the problem in one visit and cost 1/3 the cost of previous company. I will be using Drexler for any & all future needs!!

We had a scheduled arrival time of 3 to 5pm and they called to say they could send someone sooner at 130pm and I was thrilled. Chuck went to basement and my husband showed him the clean out. He went to work right away after giving us special price.. He took off clean out and we gave him buckets to let it drain and he used a pipe we had to clean out drain. He said that the cast iron T pipe would need replaced eventually because it was coming through the basement on an angle downward that caused the build up. He gave us an estimate for future repair job. Very impressed with company professionalism and giving us a time slot. I had called 2 other plumbers in my area and both were booked but one said they could squeeze us in by end of the day with no time and would call us. So I called Tom Drexler plumbing after seeing their ad in my Angies November book with ad saying they had a special to unclog a drain for 99.00 Later that day we got a followup call from company to ask how our service was and what we thought . I told them it went great and Chuck was so down to earth and professional and nice and would use them next time we have a plumbing issue. So glad I called and they exceeded our expectations!! Thanks so much for prompt professional affordable service in an emergency situation.

We had a leak from our bathroom over the kitchen. I was told that with the trip charge and cutting into my drywall, it would cost $178. I agreed. He told me it wouldn't cost much more to fix. So I agreed to let them do it. This was my first mistake. Then he told me he would have to replace the drain. By that time, he was at nearly $600. I felt like it was bait-and-switch because I was at his mercy at this point. I paid in cash but did get a receipt. Before he left, he told me that one of the upstairs toilets seemed to run a bit and that he could fix it for another $150. I told him I was tapped and that I didn't even realize there was a problem with the toilet. He told me it was the flapper. So... I went to Walmart and bought a flapper for $3 and fixed it in 17 seconds. That makes me wonder, if they would charge $150 for that, I was totally ripped off on the first service. Will not use this plumber again.

Thank you for your comments. Tom Drexler Plumbing , Air and Electric appreciates all feedback, positive or negative. Included in the upfront price you paid of $476 is not only the exceptional quality of work we provide, but also our professionalism & cleanliness, our accountability, our satisfaction guarantee and our exceptional warranty. All of this is provided to each customer with no trip charge. The initial price paid was for our technician to find the source of the leak, which required drywall removal and leak detection. The additional price paid was for our technician to repair the leak, which in your case required the entirety of the drain pipe to be replaced. We understand that you do not wish to use our services in the future, but we hope this helps explain the charge of your services.

If I had accepted the bid for the installation the work would have been completed that morning which was great for my schedule. I determined that the bid of $1325 was shocking, at least to me as I do not have experience with large plumbing companies. The employee did offer to reduce the price to $1225.00 which I still determined was too high. His bid included the cutting out of a section of cast iron pipe which would be replaced with PVC. Also the sink did not have a board installed beneath wallboard at a position which would have used screws to secure rather than by the use of toggle bolts. The water supply valves needed to be shortened and shut off valves installed. I and a friend who later helped me with the installation of both the sink and flush determined that the cast iron drain pipe which had worked fine for many years did not need to be replaced therefore the collar I had at my location also would work rather than being changed for another due to a new PVC pipe. The Tom Drexler employee was polite, professional, wore booties into my house and spread rug across outside threshold - doorstep which I really appreciated as I believe I remember that it had or was raining. My ONLY objection was the price. Due to various situations through the years I had either watched, supervised, assisted with or actually installed a number of flush/sink combinations. Due to multiple issues I determined to hire an outside party to handle this installation and this company had been recommended by a friend due to the Tom Drexler employees professionalism. The friends work which I believe was completed was part of the ongoing MSD project involving the installation of check valves so a cost comparison was not applicable. My previous experience with flush sink combinations lead me to think and say to the TD employee that the time to install would create a $350 - $400 per hour labor charge for work by the one employee. I indicated that I knew that he was only an employee and did not set company rates but that the job to be performed was so over priced that I had no interest in agreeing to the price. This is when the bid went from $1300+ to $1225.00. I guess he still did not realize how shocked I was of the amount indicated that a reduction to $1225 did not matter. I again indicated what I estimated as a generous amount of time to complete the work which would result in over $300 and more likely $400 an hour for labor. He was still very polite but did not dispute or try to correct my time estimate for the job. He did say that other plumbing companies such as theirs would charge similar prices which more than likely is so. Later in the week the installation was completed without the pipe replacement and easily in less than 3.5 hours. all is working great.
Description of Work: A Tom Drexler employee came to my home and provided a bid for the re- installation of a new sink and flush which were already at the site. The collar for flush, shut off valves and supply lines were also on site.

They told me all the work that needed to be done and they did it. I did not believe it needed to be done but went ahead with it. They said I had leaking valves which I never witnessed. They said i need to replace all my pipes which I cannot understand. The work has been done in a terrible manner. I have hot water running to my hose outside instead of cold. I have outside valves that move around. They wanted to charge me another 2600 dollars to rip up my patio to just inspect the drains. I called another plumber to come look at the drain and fix it and they charged 600 dollars to do it all. I do not think they needed to do all the work on the pipes in my house, but since I let them I figured the problem would be fixed, but it wasn't. They had many pipes in my house reversed including to my sink and my washer/dryer. I called them and had a supervisor come out and he didn't seem to do much. He just stood there and watched them work.

Repairman arrived on time. was very pleasant. started working right away on the problem drain. Couldn't get it cleaned out with basic snake and determined he needed to go down to main drain in the crawl space. Found no clean out there so he had to cut in a clean out and then snaked it from there which was successful. They have set pricing and he showed me their schedule and how much it would cost. The cost was reasonable for the work done. Very happy with work. I like the scheduled pricing.

The floor neath the water heater rotted away due to a valve leak. The water heater was basically hanging by its pipes. I called Tom Drexler. They put me on the emergency list, and within the hour a plumber was at the door. he was a very professional fellow, He explained what he would do and gave me an estimate right up front. The floor was repaired, the water heater reinstalled and the main valve was replaced and moved to a more convenient location. The $1100 charge may seem high, but it was an emergency run, and he was here for at least 6 hours. I'm happy with the cost and the work he did.

Called on Tuesday afternoon. Made appointment for Wednesday morning. Office called and because the technician was tied up with a gas repair arranged to delay until 3 - 5 PM. Chuck Krekel the technician came on time. I described the problem of when I flushed the upstairs toilet it overflowed out of the first floor toilet. He proposed that it could be a plugged line or the septic tank was backing up. He asked if I wanted to have him snake the line out or have the septic tank pumped first. I chose to have the line snaked out. He opened the clean out and tried to snake the line out. The snake would not go past about 4 foot. He used a smaller head with the same problem. He showed me the break in the line outside of the basement wall. He did not have the materials and camera to do the work. He provided me a worst case estimate for repair of $1600. We arranged for him to return on Thursday morning at 9:30. Because the line is below my deck I spent the evening removing the deck boards so Chuck would have access to dig up the sewer line. Chuck returned on Thursday morning with Ryan to assist him. They found the broken cast iron pipe. It looked like it had been broken a long time. I did wonder why my sump pit smelled like sewage and it was because the broken line allowed the sewage to travel down the concrete basement wall to the sump. Chuck removed the cast iron pipe up to the beginning of the plastic sewage pipe. The line from the beginning of the plastic pipe up to the septic tank was sewer looked at with sewer video cam and found to be in good shape. Chuck showed me the break and called me to watch the video of the sewer line. The repair was done with new plastic pipe, rubber sleeve from cast iron to plastic and at Chuck's suggestion a clean out was added outside of the basement in case of future problems. Chuck and Ryan were very professional and had their booties on when ever they entered the house. The bill was reduced with the coupon magnet that we had and special that Drexler had on drain cleaning. I think the price was fair based on the amount of time and material that they used.

From setting the appointment to finishing the project, everyone was polite, professional and very helpful. I had a leak in the main water line leading into my house. A technician came out the day following my call, assessed the situation, explained what was needed, quoted a price and someone marked the locations of all the other utility lines that afternoon. Ryan and Jessie arrived on time, worked steady, finishing in the late afternoon. They worked around large tree roots, answered all my questions, removed all the debris, and put out grass seed and straw. I will certainly recommend Tom Drexler Plumbing to my neighbors. I also became a Service Partner which offers some pretty nice benefits!
Description of Work: They dug a trench from the junction box at the edge of my property to the side of my house. They installed the pipe, reconnecting it to the main source in the yard and creating a new junction in my house with a more secure on-off valve. Once they were certain the system was working properly and the problem was corrected, they filled the trench up, took away root and rock debris, and put down grass seed and straw.

Contacted Tom Drexler Plumbing at 8:00 a.m. Receptionist said they could come out between 9:00 and 11:00, they would give us a call prior to the visit. We received a call they were on their way and they arrived at 10:00. Roman explained that the problem was most likely the dishwasher, not a drain clog. He quoted us a price to install a new dishwasher. He then checked our water heater and a dripping faucet, all at no charge. We were impressed with their professionalism and knowledge.

This drain has been a great pain since we have lived in this house. We have had it cleaned three times in the past ten years. The same problem continues and it gets backed up. When the plumber from Tom Drexler arrived he told us the special price that was listed in the ad was if the clog was under so many feet. I knew that and told him to clear the drain. With in the hour it was cleared and he ran hot water till there was no more hot water, I feel he did a great job!

Because our bathroom sink was draining very slow which seems to occur approxixmately every three years, we contacted Drexler as they have been advertising "any drain unclogged for $99". On opening the vanity door , his first comment was he did not like the looks of the trap. Then, he suggested that because this is an older home, he may have to go through the closet to get down to where the T or some such is may be stopped - this would make the $99 now $199. - just wanted to let us know, he said. As he did the routine snaking and opening the drain, I retrieved the invioce from United Plumbing from Jan. 2010 where itshowed they had replaced the trap and unstopped the drain for $191. I asked how much to replace our present 3 year old trap and was quoted $298.. I suggested that he just put the old trap back on but he insisted that it looked rather gerryricked to him and that it would probably leak and that a house inspector (we are planning on moving in 2 months) would tell us it needed to be replaced . He said he would work with us on the price and came down to $254.14. Bottom line, our sink is unstopped and we have a new trap that I am not convinced we needed. My husband completely disagrees with this review.
