The guy who installed the new unit was very professional. He was very friendly and helpful in showing me how to use my new system. He even installed a new intelligent thermostat i hadwith no extra charge. He taught me how to use that too!

 + -1 moreNew Trane Heat Pump installed a few weeks earlier was not operating properly. Under warranty Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning came out the same day I called. Even though I did not do a good job of explaining the symptoms, the technician was able to figure out what was wrong, find the part that was not working and fix it all within the same trip to my house. There was no question about the work done by Comfort for the installation, but there was just a bad part in the unit. They were prepared and has the necessary parts on the service truck to fix the problem. Very little time taken by me to get the problem fixed. Following the service Comfort Heating and Air conditioning has been working with me to provide a means to take care of my concerns about the unit and the correct operation. Comfort is very responsive when there is a heating or cooling problem that needs fixing. They are good at communicating with me by email on my questions that were involved in the follow up.
Description of Work: New Heat pump recently installed was not operating properly. Comfort came the same day I called and fixed the issue with no questions under warranty.

Their employees were respectful and courteous. Please keep up this level of customer service- you have a repeat customer. I called two other companies in town twice with no returned phone call (Stewart and Monthie) you'd think they would call back when I'm asking to give them business!

 + -1 moreThe provider was called on a Monday morning and arrived at our home before 11AM. The inspection took over 1 hour and then JR spent another 30 minutes giving me the options for repair and also options for a new replacement unit. That afternoon the owner of the company called me to give me even more options for the financing of the new unit I had decided to try to purchase. I was very impressed with his help as he led me to a solution that was much better for me but involved using Lowe's for the purchase of the unit and I still was able to have Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning do the installation which went very well the following day.
Description of Work: Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning came out the same morning I called when the Heat Pump in our home stopped cooling. The tech did a thorough check of the coils and examination of both the compressor and air handler and determined that the refrigerant had all leaked from the system.

 + -1 moreCharged $175 for a two minute diagnosis of heat pump fan motor failure. Wanted $900 to replace defective part which another HVAC firm said should have cost about $200. Charged $75 per hour for2.5 hours their time finding the part which should have been covered by warranty. Another firm confirmed the warranty coverage and the bill was reduced to "only"$ 237. If it weren't for the other firm (who installed the system initially) they would have gouged me for almost $1100 for a repair that local firm would have done for $200.t
Description of Work: Called for a Saturday HVAC repair due to hot weather. Diagnosed problem as a seized fan motor. Initial diagnosis was charged at flat rate of $175 which was not disclosed initially.

We kind of checked them out pretty thoroughly before we engaged them to put in a new HVAC system. We've been very happy with the service. Everything has been working well since.  + -1 moreThe work was prompt (only had to go a few days in-between waiting for the unit to ship, with warm temps in the house). The work was done efficiently and respectfully. Immediately with install, the house was back with cool airs running, though better than ever. A few weeks later, the owner closed out our sale and personally met with me at our home. He, and all of the staff, were a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Comfort came out for our bi-yearly check and discovered we were in need of a new HVAC. We were given solid advice between fixing our prior unit (a gamble) or replacing the unit with a Comfort unit that came with a 10 year warranty. Weighing the costs, it was much more assuring and beneficial to buy a new unit.

 + -1 moreThe fact that they tried to get us another service because they were booked up, and then called back to check on us means they care about their customers! I will definitely use them again. The service man had to crouch down in a very hot attic area to scrape off old grime from the coils. He advised us to think about an upgrade, but there was no pressure to buy from their company.
Description of Work: A hot week was coming up and our old a/c unit was blowing tepid air. The company was booked up, but said they would give us a name of another business associate. After waiting a few days, they called back to check on us! since the other associate had neglected to follow-up, Comfort Air came right out and cleaned the coils which were black from use. I expected a much bigger bill and was glad they only charged $119.00 overall.

They were prompt and professional and took care of the problem. It did seem the cost was high but I suspect all of the Heating & A/C people have high pricing these days so I am not sure it is out of line.

Description of Work: Just got my ac unit installed this past Friday, and I am very pleased with the service. We ran into some bad weather and they were unable to finish the install on the same day.  + -1 moreThe initial visit to assess the problem was very prompt and the service was very professional. A price for repair was given, which I thought to very high compared to others I had received. The company offered to provide a free estimate for the cost of a replacement system, and I agreed. The reason that I give this company a low rating is that the company took over a week to get me the cost estimate. This was a very frustrating experience being without a heating and air system for over a week; and being told every day for a week that we will get you a number by tomorrow. Exactly one week later, I did finally get a number from the estimator over the phone, and it was nearly double the cost of the company that I had install the new system.
Description of Work: Evaluated broken heat pump system and provided quote for repair and for a new system.

 + -1 moreCompany was very nice on phone, but after estimate was given Nathan (I think that was his name) never seemed like he could work with us on price. He gave many different estimates of different units but was not much help on directing us on the direction which should work best for our home. He was supposed to get back to us on financing, but never did. I think it worked out for the best because the Service we ended up using directed us in the right direction and we are very happy with the results.

I called before noon, and although very late in the day, they did get there that day. The serviceman had a difficult repair at another location was the cause for delay. I also started a care plan with Comfort. Their servicemen were very professional and I highly recommend Comfort Heating and Air.

 + -1 moreThe whole experience was really good. They had the best price by $400 versus comparable units from other companies. The did not try to sell me more than I needed. The installers were polite and friendly and answered all of my questions, and they left the area cleaner than they found it. I am updating this review at this time because there has been ZERO follow up since my unit was installed. The company has not sent me any warranty information, nor any paperwork on the service plan that is supposed to be provided foir one year with the purchase. They have also not contacted me to tell me how to set up the inspection by the local government that is required. I have emailed my salesman twice, the first go no response, the second response was one line saying they are waiting on the warranty information from the manufacturer, that's it.
Description of Work: They replaced my existing HVAC system. Heat pump, air handler, line-set, and thermostat.

 + 0 moreSee above. Drilling an eight inch hole down 100 to 300 feet brings up a huge amount of dirt, and ground-up limestone, and dust, dust, dust - even with constant spraying. That is about 34 cubic feet per 100 foot deep hole. They haul everything away, but it is definitely an intrusion for a while.
Description of Work: This was an interesting installation. They made a quote to install a geothermal HVAC system to replace 2 forced-air gas furnaces. When their subcontracted driller hit water at 100 ft., it pretty much shut us down - with large quantities of water coming out of the ground. We didn't have the space in our tiny drill-area to complete the job. Darren (the actual Comfort Man) worked hard to find an alternative driller who had a horizontal drill allowing us to try another drill-area. Both Darren and owner, Mike Buckley, spent a lot of their own time to come up with a "Plan B" approach - including meeting with a difficult neighbor who was concerned about potential water run-off from the aquifer that runs beneath the property - among other things. All was successfully completed and the system works great! I would definitely hire them again. In an urban area where space can be a little tight, having access to a horizontal drill can be really helpful. As much as is possible, it would also be helpful to try sample drilling, since in Lexington - built on top of karst (limestone, dolomite, and gypsum) you can go from finding a major aquifer, to a large cavern down deep. Not sure how practical it is to do that testing first.

The Rep that came to see me, wasn't all that professional. He was impatient and didn't go out of his way to make me feel like there was something they could do to keep my business. He acted like they didn't care if they had my business or not, and he could go on his way.
Description of Work: I needed my furnace replaced, and I had this company out to look at it and give an estimate. I needed a brand new furnace installed.

Comfort was one of the quickest to respond and provided a complete set of services. Their price was higher than their competitors but do include more services. They do stand behind their services. I had some questions, not that there were any problems, I just wanted to better understand the service and what was done and how pricing was determined. The president of the company responded to my email within a few business hours and then called to discuss the situation fully with me. My confidence in the expertise and honesty of this company was high, but is even higher now that I have discussed issues with the president of the company and received straight and honest answers, even when the answer was not the easiest thing for him to say. Complete trust in this company. Service person and truck was well organized, knowledgeable and wore booties over his shoes when in the house. Great job.
Description of Work: Signed up for Comfort Plan which has monthly charge and includes two annual inspections/cleanings, etc.Also has repairs made to my system to make sure all equipment was working properly. All services were described in detail and options given as to what is needed now and what could be delayed.
