The Job went horrible.  Missed deadline, some days they left as early as 1pm, and wondered why they missed deadline.  Owner is rude and very confrontational, does not take criticism very well. When we tried to discuss missed deadline & expectations, owner became very mad.  Had to  call him back a few months after jobs were done because grout in 1st shower was cracking, he said it was a bad batch.....have called him  back 2 times, this last time he wanted to charge me for caulking around the tub that he never caulked the 1st time.  So I have had to  hire a contractor that actually knows how to do tile work to fix Cedarwood lakes work.  NEVER again....to many good people out there to give your money to..

Response from Cedarwood Lakes Tile
"First, This negative review(s) automatically begins with a lie. This woman's name is [Member Name Removed] and the job was at [Member Name Removed] Haus B&B in Bellevue, KY. The project(s) went very well and there was NO specific deadline to meet. The contract shows this. I have never given a specific end date on any "remodel" project, b/c, as any small construction business contractor can verify, remodel work comes with a lot of surprises and reverse engineering that cannot be precisely pinpointed until uncovered. Therefore, it is not wise to give a customer false hope or anticipation of completion when dealing with unknown variables. Although, It is a must to maintain a presence on site from Day 1, until completion, regardless of any changes or surprises that pop up effecting time-frame. This is exactly how I operate. ALL work related dealings on this project were handled by the on-site manager [Member Name Removed]? I believe was her name. I gave [Member Name Removed] specific and detailed updates each workday's end and she never once balked or questioned time-frame. Once I began the whirlpool tub bathroom [Member Name Removed] and her partner changed what they wanted to do from re-tiling the tub decking to wood veneer wrapping. (Not my everyday forte', but can and did accomplish) They also decided to change vanities, and the new vanities purchased did not fit the location and the plumbing needed to be rerouted. The handyman they hired to do the plumbing could only schedule on one particular day and time. Hence, why, yes, I did leave at 1 pm on that day b/c the handyman showed up and I couldn't necessarily tile around him. I had to stop in order to allow for him to access the area. There was a grout issue in the smaller bath floor. Not cracking, but it actually did not set up. It was basically dust. This was the first and only time this scenario has occurred on one of my projects in 18 years tiling. Once notified, I immediately remedied the problem, removed the existing grout and re-grouted with a different batch. I contacted Florida Tile and the GM there contacted the grout maker. I was told it is a highly uncommon occurrence, but I likely received a bad lot of grout. Btw, this call from [Member Name Removed] about the grout was not month's later. It was a matter of days and they had not yet placed the room back into service. The issue was found while a worker was final cleaning the room in preparation for it to be rented. [Member Name Removed] was never on site until the project was wrapped up and it was time for payment. [Member Name Removed]'s reputation preceded her, and I found that she had snuckered her previous tile contractor out of what she owed him at the end of his project at the same location. She attempted to do the same to me, but I did not allow it. I DO NOT bow down to bullies, and I was Paid In Full. After, [Member Name Removed] asked me if I could tile a tub surround in a separate room on the lower level, which I could not b/c I had a full schedule, and her request was last minute. So, I'm thinking my work was satisfactory for this request after the original project(s) were completed. Bullies do not like being told NO. Also, [Member Name Removed] has left another false review, using the same false name, on this site under an address I have never been to, nor conducted any work at. [Member Name Removed] is not being truthful."

Rob Girkin is very professional in his work. He does not waste time. His assistants are reliable and trust worthy as well. He did an excellent job in design and finish. My floor is beautiful now.
