GLASSHOPPERS

Every mom's worst nightmare: I locked myself out of the house with my 10 month old roaming freely through the house. With no means of contacting anyone, I had to break my master bedroom window in order to get back into the house. This happened late on a Friday afternoon, and Glasshoppers was able to pull one of their workers from another job and get him to my house within and hour and a half. He removed the whole broken window (frame and all) to take back to the shop so he could get a perfect measurement and fit the first time and to make re-installation a breeze. He also boarded up the open space, securing it with screws and weather-proofing it with silicone. The following Tuesday, I got a call that from Glasshoppers saying they were on their way with my window. The two workers removed the board (and said the previous worker definitely didn't skimp with the screws and silicone, because they had a hard time getting it off! It was comforting to know he took the time to install the board in a way that insured we'd be safe from intruders and the elements), scraped off/cleaned up the silicone, and replaced my window in about 10 minutes. After I mentioned some other projects I had been wanting to do (replacing screens, installing mini blinds in the back doors, and replacing the glass piece in my front door), they thoroughly measured everything so they could get back to me with more exact quotes for the cost of parts and labor. Overall, I'm very satisfied with their work and promptness. All the workers I encountered seemed a little rough around the edges, but they were all definitely friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The labor cost seemed a little high to me, but I honestly didn't do any price comparing given the emergent nature of the incident. And after witnessing the quality and timeliness of their work, I can't say the extra cost wasn't worth it. I'll definitely be calling them if/when I decide to replace the screens and install the mini blinds.
