Description of Work: Both of our gas fireplaces had an unusual smell when they were burning; it was not a gas smell. We had Henges do some cleaning/maintenance work. The service person was friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions. Now that the maintenance work has been done, we no longer notice the smell when we burn either fireplace.

+ -1 moreThe truck arrived early on the scheduled day. I think there were 3 or 4 men on the crew. They were very polite and very hard workers. There were no problems with the installation or clean up after it was completed. I picked them originally for a bid because they were one of two members of the KC remodelers association (NARI). Their bid was better than the others I received and they made it clear what was to be performed.
Description of Work: R30 cellulose added to existing attic insulation and foam board added to vertical attic walls.

Description of Work: I have had trouble with a new gas fireplace insert and needed expert advice on the cause. Mr. Henges came and listened to the symptoms and evaluated the fireplace problems. He explained the cause and told me how to manage the trouble. I tried to pay him but he told me he would not charge for this call and to keep him in mind if/when I needed work done.

+ -1 moreI DON'T QUITE UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON'T GIVE A PRICE PER SQUARE FOOT. THEY GAVE ME A SQUARE FOOTAGE NUMBER, BUT SAID SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TO CALL ME BACK WITH THE ESTIMATE. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME.
Description of Work: THEY CAME OUT AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE, BUT NEVER CALLED ME BACK WITH A QUOTE LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD. AFTER THREE PHONE CALLS TO TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND STILL NO CALL BACK, I'VE DECIDED THAT THIS IS NOT A COMPANY THAT I WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH.

+ -1 moreALTHOUGH, NO WORK WAS DONE. MR GROGMAN TOOK A GOOD HALF HOUR TO EXAMINE THE INSULATION IN THE ATTIC AND IN A SMALL ATTIC AREA OFF MY DAUGHTER'S CLOSET AREA. HE TOLD US THAT THE INSULATION IN MOST OF OUR ATTIC WAS IN GOOD SHAPE AND WE WOULD NOT BENEFIT FROM MORE. HE SUGGESTED THAT WE COULD HELP THE SITUATION BY SPENDING A FRACTION OF THE COST INSULATING THE SMALL ATTIC AREA OURSELVES. HIS COMPANY DOES NOT COME OUT FOR UNDER $300.00. HE TOLD ME HOW TO DO IT. HE ALSO SHARED WITH ME HOW I MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THE AIRFLOW IN THE DUCT SYSTEM AND IDEAS HOW TO BETTER INSULATE OUR GARAGE.
Description of Work: A BEDROOM DIRECTLY OVER THE GARAGE IS OFTEN COLD IN WINTER AND HOT IN SUMMER. I WAS LOOKING TO ADD INSULATION TO THE ATTIC AREA AND ANY OTHER AREA TO HELP THE SITUATION.
