Great. Arrived at 9:00 am and finished at 7:00 pm. Bret had come to our home previously and gave us a quote on what was needed for our home. We chose KB based on their professionalism. We were not pressured to buy the most expensive system--- they worked to provide us with the most energy efficient and economical system for our home. They gave us their best price up front. Will use them for yearly service going forward.

It went very well both times. The appointment was made promptly and the serviceman arrived as scheduled. I had a different serviceman each time, but they both were knowledgable, friendly and finished the job promptly. I will use them again and would recommend them to my friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: I have used their service twice. The first time was to install a kitchen faucet and the second time was to rebuild a toilet.

I have a yearly maintenance contract with KB Complete from the intallation of a new Furnace in 2008. They informed me in 2012 that my AC unit (at least 20 years old) was on its last leg. They gave me several estimates for various size/brand/quality AC units that fell in a broad price range. The two-man team worked in the rain to install and test the new unit. The KB Complete technicians were respectful and communicative; they laid down tarps in my house and put on shoe covers when entering my home due to the rain/mud. Due to the excellence of their service, I am a long term customer and expect that to continue long into the future.

Job went well. Got several bids on a new AC unit. KB had a reasonable price and explained why a new unit would be the best way to go (as opposed to repairing old unit). Would use them again.

We called K&B to clean our drain to the sewer. According to their contract with me they were going to dig up the plugged drainage tile and replace the bad section of tile up to 10' They put the camera down the tile line and measured with the probe where they thought the bad piece of tile was but they were about 10' short of the blockage. So they then dug up my brick patio in the wrong place. They then tried to clear the bad tile with a router machine and tried to ram a piece of PVC pipe through the blockage with no success. Then they decided to dig in another spot just past the retaining wall to uncover the bad tile. They dug for about 4 hours and never found the tile. The supervisor finally showed up and told them to try to run a 1" cable from the house through the blockage all the way down to the main sewer line so they could pipe burst by pulling a new pipe through the old. That worked so the supervisor told them to fill in the giant hole they dug for no reason. Then they were able to dig another hold where the main sewer connected with the tile and they then started to pull the new line through the old pipe but the had one problem. They did not shore up the hydraulic pulling machine properly and instead of pulling the pipe it was pulling the machine causing my brick patio to bubble up. I then gave them a long 2 X 12 and told them to cut it into 3 pieces and use it to shore the hydraulic pulling machine so it stay in place. They tried and tried to pull the new pipe through the old but they got stuck. I was at work and the supervisor called me asking for more money over the $8,000.00 The new contract clearly stated that if they couldn't pull the new line they would dig a trench and lay a new line. So I called the main office and spoke with a manager and a short while later the supervisor called and said he was mistaken about asking for more money. They brought in a very minimal amount of gravel to put around the pipe and my neighbor is a retired engineer from many many years of construction projects and he was telling me that he was very surprised that they used so little gravel. My wife and I had to stay in hotels for 4 nights and our back yard is destroyed in 2 places for no reason except for the lack of experience and supervision. K&B is probably good at fixing small jobs like toilets and inside plumbing but I would never use them again for a big job.

They did an excellent job. They came out and looked at the unit. They did not pressure us to buy a new unit. They made a suggestion and we decided it was best to replace the system. They gave us a finance option which worked out. We were very glad they had that available. They came in the next day. They were here about 8 hours and put in a new furnace, air conditioner, and pad. We did not have to go without service so we never had to deal with the heat or the humidity. We were really thrilled with them.

The work was fine, but the cost was crazy for less than an hours work. I complained because they originally charged me for materials I supplied (water lines) and they reduced the cost by $70. Bottom line i will not use for simple plumbing work again, i will just find a handy man.

Plumber came out on time and spent 90 minutes and could not find source of odor. According to their office this was one of their more experienced people. He did a minor repair that likely was not needed. After calling the office the bill was adjusted so I guess I cannot complain as they made it right. I have used KB in the past however and they did an excellent job on a bigger project.

Our AC died at the beginning of the heatwave last year. KB sent out a sales rep the next day. The rep was very knowledgeable, and gave us a very detailed education about ACs. We finally decided to replace our heater as well, instead of just the AC as I didn't want to have my heat go out in the dead of winter. It was a Friday and our sales rep told us it would be a two day job as the heater and AC would be installed by two separate teams. They arrived on Monday and had two teams on site, and by the evening the AC and heater were installed. We have used them for our regular maintenance and a couple of smaller plumbing jobs. They always do a great job.

The tecnician ran the AC system and it was working and blowing cold air. At the AC unit, he said AC contactr had carbon build up and should probably be replaced for 130.00. I reluctantly agreed , but when the part was later taken off there was only the brass connections showing and no carbon! While he was replacing the part (before the part was off) I walked in the house to smell and see the thermostat on fire with a one foot flame going up my one inch thick wood panneled wall. Hot dripping thermostat plastic caught the living room rug on fire. I put the fires out and got the technician who fire extinguished the spots. The furnace cover was still open and the furnace control board looked burned or charred and was ruined also. The technician put in the new AC contactor. I have had to go through my home owners insurance policy as they will only settle the damages they owe through legal subrogation through insurances. If anyone else has had this happen with KB Complete HVAC please let me know. It has been 46 days. .
Description of Work: KB Complete HVAC Company called to say I have a free seasonal "maintenance sevice" that I was not aware of. I asked them twice not to come out because I wasn't ready to spend mopney right now on the HVAC system. Thety insisted it would be free.

Response from KB Complete Plumbing Heating & Cooling, Inc.
To Whom it May Concern, 11-9-2010 the member called and requested that we come out – his furnace was coming on for a few minutes and then shutting off. He purchased our KB Service Partner Plan and we proceeded to service the furnace. During that process, our technician found a very dangerous situation – the carbon monoxide levels were roller coastering up. We shut the furnace down and informed the member that the furnace needed to be replaced. He refused any help that day. He called a couple of weeks later and had one of our sales representatives out, but didn’t have us replace the furnace. The next time we were at the house was 6-18-2012. We contacted him because we owed him the other half of his KB Service Partner Plan. He informed us that he had been using space heaters to heat and had been doing without a/c for a year and a half, due to the cost. Our technician came out and began the a/c maintenance check. What you need to know here, because you may be wondering how he could have a/c if his furnace was condemned, is that you can use a furnace blower to push air for the a/c even though it is unsafe to use in the heat mode for carbon monoxide problems. During the a/c maintenance, our technician found a pitted contactor on the a/c and the member agreed to have it replaced. Our technician went to the truck to get the part and that is when the member’s thermostat caught on fire. After seeing it, out tech ran back out to the truck, retrieved his fire extinguisher and put out the flame. The fire was not caused by us. Our Service Manager, Dave Culver, met the member’s insurance adjuster over there and was able to explain why this was not caused by any negligence on our part. I believe his insurance adjuster said that it was inconclusive. We believed that to be the end of it and assumed the member had new equipment installed by another company with his insurance money, until we heard from him again. The member called threatening that he would slander our name, even accusing that our sales consultant had done something to cover up negligence on our part. Ridiculous. Karl, the owner, went over and met with the member and made arrangements to replace the furnace the next day. We were going to replace the furnace because the member was threatening us with slander and because we felt bad for him. Our only stipulation was that he sign our invoice that stated we were not admitting any fault. We showed up the next morning and began the removal of the old equipment and when we attempted to get his signature, he refused. We pulled off the job. The member assumes that simply because we were there, we caused the fire. The fact is that whoever turned on the a/c would have had the same result. We understand the member has been out of work for some time and that he is under duress, but we could not work anything out with him and requested that if his insurance company that it was our fault they would be in contact and we would let our insurance companies work it out. Instead of believing what his insurance company figured out, he slander us to you. I’m pretty sure that he must have received money from his insurance company for the repairs, you might follow up on that. If we had in any way caused this damage, we would have remedied it immediately and we would have not gone agreed with the a/c maintenance that day. We can only stand on our reputation and for the last 25 years we have provided honest and reliable service to our customers. Sincerely, Lesa Garcia, Sec/Treas. KB Complete, Inc.

They are on time, they call ahead and make sure that I am at home, they do the work promised. The two guys who have come over have been very good and one of them we actually found out that we had a lot in common with and I keep in contact with him. So far so good. Price wise I really did not compare price with anyone else. The guy who was servicing my units for years is a small mum and pop business and his prices were really fair and now I am on to the more commercial pricing.

I arrived home on the evening of 2/09/12 to a 57 degree house and called KB Complete. Technician Darin arrived within two hours and diagnosed the problem, which required a major part that was not carried on the truck. He clearly explained the options that I had to choose from and the pros and cons of each. I found this to be very helpful when trying to make a decision on a subject that I know little about. After I decided on an option, he told me that he would need to get the part from Lennox the next day and would be out to install the part. He also told me that if he ran into any issue in getting the part from Lennox, that he would call. He arrived around noon the next day and installed the part. He checked the furnace out to insure that everything was running as it should be before he left. I have used KBComplete three or four times for various HVAC and plumbing jobs and will continue to do so as they are always professional with regard to both their skill at diagnosing and repairing the problem and in their level of customer service - arriving promptly, discussing options, etc. I don't think that they are the lowest priced contractor out there, but I do think that you get what you pay for.

See above report; happy with KB Complete.
Description of Work: Contacted KB Complete for second estimate of new HVAC system; old Trane ran fine but was 34 yrs old and inefficient. The price difference between companies was impressive. KB was patient (we refuse to make rushed decisions on long term home improvement items). The salesman provided multiple quotes while we continued comparing efficiency of both air and heating units vs. costs. The installation was done in one long day; the men were quiet and cleaned up after themselves. We felt our rating of KB Complete should be based on total picture of purchase, installation and any needed service. After one year we are happy to report all follow up service has been without complaint; the service men have responded quickly and resolved all needs. One of our calls was on a cold day; they came same day but were unable to obtain needed part until next morning and were right back on the job. The added bonus has been the cost effectiveness of the new 20 seer Trane heat pump w/95% efficient heating unit. Choosing KB Complete and replacing the old unit were the right choices for us.
