In November I purchased a used car with approximately 15,000 miles on it. The vehicle had the 100 point Shawnee Mission Group inspection that indicated the car had been checked out mechanically, had no issues and everything was in working order. The following spring I discovered the air conditioner did not work. When I took the car in to the manufacture's dealer for repair, I found out the car had been in a very significant front end collision, the AC compressor leaked and had to be replace, the wiring harness to the AC fan had been crushed and had to be replaced and the wrong AC fan had been installed when originally repaired and had to be replaced. Because the problems were due to an accident, the repairs were not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Repairs to the AC cost me nearly $2000. The manufacturer's dealer service department told me that any mechanic who actually inspected the car would have seen that it had been in an accident. So either the Shawnee Mission Toyota lied about the condition of the car (saying everything was in order with no problems) or they simply didn't inspect it. When I contacted Shwnee Mission Toyota, they insisted that they had no responsibility despite their mis-representing the condition of the car they sold me. I was extremely disappointed that they acknowledged no responsibility in this matter.

They are courteous with everybody they deal with. They are timely in their service. We are able to make an appointment and they get us out at the scheduled time. They are efficient. Two years ago they found a problem that we were not aware of and they said that we could either reschedule or we could wait and it would take 1 1/2 hours. We had them go ahead and do the work and they were on time for the extra work. That time something was broken on the steering so we were glad they found it. We will absolutely continue to use them.
Description of Work: We use Superior Toyota for our auto maintenance. Our last visit was for an oil charge, rotate and balance and alignment.

They know my automobile. Replacements are Toyota brand so I'm never worried about them shoving in something that might kind of fit. They're prompt. They tell you when something is wrong and explain it so you understand. I've never felt ripped off. I've felt most prices were appropriate. When I bought my car, I received three years of free maintenance.
Description of Work: Superior Toyota is my auto service. I also buy my cars there. I have been using them for about 28 years.

This is where I bought my vehicle. It is a convenient location to me. The gentleman who sold me my car seemed honest and fair. They have good service and they give me advice. I don't price compare because of their convenient location.
Description of Work: I took my Toyota in for a 60,000 mile tune up. They changed and checked all of the fluids. They changed necessary filters and checked all of the necessary areas of the car. I don't remember the cost.

Excellent! I wanted the advertised lease rate which I got and when there was a misunderstanding concerning the down payment, the dealership completely rewrote the loan to accommodate the lower down payment I wanted. They were responsive to the letter and provided the sort of service that guarantees I will return.
Description of Work: I wanted to lease a bottom-of-the-line Corolla, a lease most dealers were not interested in. Superior snapped up the business, traded in my old Lexus for blue book value, and gave me what I wanted, a $160 per month payment, exactly what was advertised on the Toyota web site.

We take our Camry in every 5,000 miles to be serviced. They have done fine with the routine work, but like many auto shops they try to get you to do extra work every time. The last time my wife took our car there they changed out our cabin air filter for $50, and the time before that they my wife had hit a curb and they charged $90 for a balance and alignment, which both seems a bit steep. When my wife hit the curb it gashed some rubber out of the sidewall, so I put the spare tire on, which was brand new, even though the maintenance plan said they would rotate the spare tire into the rotation so it would have similar wear as the other tires. (Our spare is the same tire as all the others). I would recommend finding a trusted local mechanic, the dealer places are always expensive and no better than anywhere else. They are available at most times and can do the routine checkup in about two hours if you feel like waiting.
Description of Work: We bought the maintenance plan when we purchased our new 2005 Toyota Camry. They have performed our routine maintenance for the first 40,000 miles. The quality of their work is ok, but they are expensive as you would expect from a dealer, and they shortcut a few minor areas such as rotating the spare tire in with the rest.

The salesman was helpful and did not use too many pressure tactics the day I stopped to browse. I got a better price and bought it at another local dealership. When I called to inform the first salesman, he expressed dismay in an unprofessional manner.

WORK WAS PERFORMED AS REQUESTED. SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW AIR FILTER AND TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGE. WE TOLD THE ADVISOR WE WOULD CONSIDER IT WHEN THE CAR WAS DUE FOR THE 30,000 MILE CHECK. HE SAID THE AIR CLEANER WOULD COST 59.83 (AN AMOUNT I THOUGHT WAS OUTRAGEOUS.) WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED TO SEE IF ALL OF THE FLUIDS HAD BEEN TOPPED OFF LIKE THEY SAID IT WOULD BE DONE. THE WINDOW WASH RESERVOIR HAD NOT BEEN FILLED. WHILE IT WAS NOT THAT IMPORTANT, THIS IS THE 3RD TIME (AT DIFFERENT DEALERS) WHAT THEY SAID WOULD BE DONE, WAS NOT. I FELT IT HAD BECOME A MATTER OF PRINCIPAL, SO I CALLED SUPERIOR. THEY WERE VERY APOLOGETIC AND SAID I WOULD GET A FREE OIL CHANGE NEXT VISIT. I VERY MUCH QUESTION WHETHER WE NEED A NEW AIR FILTER NOW (TO EVEN CHECK THE FILTER, THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR NEEDS TO BE REMOVED - DID THEY DO THAT TO CHECK IT???) I NOW WONDER ABOUT THEIR TACTICS/HONESTY. I WILL TRY THEIR SERVICE ONE MORE TIME.

WE VISITED THE DEALER THREE TIMES BECAUSE WE WERE CONTINUALLY LED TO BELIEVE THAT THEY REALLY WANTED TO MAKE A DEAL WHERE WE BUY TWO NEW CARS AND TRADE TWO USED CARS. WE SHOPPED ON THE INTERNET FIRST TO SEE WHAT THE "BLUE BOOK" VALUE FOR OUR ZIP CODE IS FOR ALL FOUR VEHICLES. WE KNEW WHAT PRICE RANGE TO EXPECT GIVEN WHAT THE INTERNET ESTIMATED. THE DEALER ENDED UP HIGHBALLING THE COST OF THE TWO NEW CARS AND LOWBALLING THE TRADE-IN VALUE OF BOTH OF OUR CARS. THE COST DIFFERENCE WAS $10,000 TOO HIGH ACCORDING TO THE VERY SPECIFIC INFORMATION GATHERED FROM THE INTERNET SITE FOR KELLY BLUE BOOK.
