The sales engineer came and looked over the situation and designed and laid out a system to take care of the water seepage problem and quoted a price that was reasonable. The sump pump would be installed under the stair well that is space of little utility. When the installers arrived they said they could not install the sump pump as designed and would have to move its location to an open corner in the family room which I would need to cover up or construct a cabinet around it. Also, I had already paid $100 for an electrician to install electric outlets under the stairs for the sump pumps. This was a disappointment in that there was not good coordination between the engineering and the installers. But, since they were here and ready to go to work, I let them go ahead with the revised installation. Other than that, the work progressed quite well and as far as I can determine, the installation has been successful. But, we have not had a severe enough storm since the installation to determine if it will take care of the problem.
Description of Work: Installed a water guard and sump pumps to isolate and pump out water seepage along the east side of the basement after storms.

The salesman inspected our basement for water residue on our basment wall in one corner. He said that the water was entering over the foundation wall. He said that the high level of mulch outside that wall was causing the rain water to spill over the foundation. He recommended installing a membrane to catch the water. When the installers came, they suggested black charcoal instead of the membrane and we liked that idea, since our mulch is very dark in color and the charcoal does not show as well as the other material. They removed some of the mulch and dug down next to the basement wall. Then they installed a black firm plastic barrier and then filled the area with black charcoal. They also extended the downspout about 9-10 feet to keep water away from that corner of the basement. The job was completed in a few hours, they worked very quickly. The landscaping was not disturbed and they cleaned the area well after completion of those tasks. We are pleased with the job.
Description of Work: The company removed some of our mulch and dug down along our basement exterior wall and filled in with charcoal to absorb the water that may enter over the sill plate. They also extended out downspout about 10 more feet.

Can I just first say that Tyrone and Zach, the two workers at our property, were beyond amazing? Phenomenal customer service, super friendly, and generally just two great guys to interact with. And the quality of their work? Even better. IFS was chosen by the sellers of our house to do $4,200 of foundation repair that was discovered through the inspection process. Some of the information, such as removing bushes and patio bricks in advance, was not relayed to us. Zach and Tyrone to the rescue! They carefully removed our plants and bushes, and put them back when finished. Same with the patio bricks, Zach even took the time to lay the bricks in the exact pattern on the opposite side of the patio. Loved my experience with Indiana Foundation, and you will too.

We have had a lot of problems with water coming in and we have not had any problems after Indiana Foundation Service fixed our basement. So far everything has been dry and it's been wonderful because we have done the basement 3 times. We didn’t want to do it again anymore.
Description of Work: We used Indiana Foundation Service to put in a kind of drainage system so that if water ever gets in the house, it goes around the outside wall. They dug a trench so that if water ever gets in the basement, it is supposed to go through the trench and out and not get all over the place.

Indiana Foundation encapsulated our crawlspace last fall and installed a sump pump. During the recent rains we noticed that the drain they installed was holding water and not emptying. We called them to come check it and the two man crew was there waiting for us at the appointed time. They scoped out the problem and immediately set about to realign the drain so it would work properly at no extra charge. We were very pleased with their service.

We were experiencing some settling in the foundation and shifting door jams and cabinet doors. Keith came out and looked at our problems. He spent quite a bit of time explaining to us what we were seeing and why. He also explained what would indicate serious problems that would need repair. He did not feel we needed to make any changes right now, but showed us what to look for in the future. We will definitely call on them if we need this type of service. We would definitely recommend Indiana Foundation for their reliability, knowledge and trustworthiness.

We were considering the purchase of a home where IFS had recently done some work, and I called to find out what had been done and whether anything else was needed. I left a message for Keith, who got back to me within minutes even though I was clear in my message that I was not the homeowner and I was not calling for any reason other than to ask him some questions. Keith spent a great deal of time on the phone with me going through every detail about the property, what he had done, and what he recommended should still be done. He told me some "tricks of the trade" type things that would help us stay on top of any basement problems if we bought the house, and he gave me detailed information on how the sumps he installed work. Among these was a fix that, depending on our plans for the property, I could do myself and that would prevent the need for the other work he recommended having done, which would have otherwise cost me (or the seller) $3000. Keith also offered to come out to the property if we decided to buy it, to meet with me and go over everything in person. You have to keep in mind - this property is about 40 miles from him and the work is already done. He was very clear that he would come out without a charge to meet with me at my convenience. We decided not to purchase the home for reasons unrelated to Keith's work or his comments, but I was really impressed with his approach to my call. If I have the need in the future, I will definitely work with this company.

Over all it went very well they finished in 2 days the only thing that happened was a miss communication on how long the drain was suppose to run away from the house.
Description of Work: I had them install the clean system in my crawl space, which consist of removing the old plastic that was on the ground, dig all along the walls of the crawl space drilling holes in the brick and install drinage piping connecting it to a sump pump which they ran the discharge out thru the wall into my yard, than they installed a 20 mil reinforced plastic total encapulating the crawl space.

Went OK. The salesman that I met talked so fast and raced through the presentation that I did not feel like I wanted to make the decision for the owners although they had OK'd me to do so. The waterproofing had to be done so I had no choice. It was this firm or another that I didn't feel as comfortable with. These are messy jobs. My main disappointment was they left the job and said it was finished and it wasn't until I spoke to the tenant that lived there that I found out the system had NOT been "plugged in" to an electrical outlet. I would have thought that someone would have checked it before they left. For $6,800 I feel that was a glaring mistake.

They did a fine job, cleaned up afterwords and we are pleased with their service and the outcome. Their foreman, Chuck, was very knowledgeable and professional and took time each day to inform us of how they had progressed and what they planned the next day.
Description of Work: Our foundation had settled cracking the basement wall which resulted in a water leak. Dave Harting came to our home and using a lazer device and his experience confirmed that the from of our foundation had settled at least one inch. He spent a good amount of time assessing the condition and than spent at least 45 minutes explaining to us in detail what would be required to correct the condition. He indicated 26 steel piers would be driven to bed rock and they would hydraulically lift the foundation. He responded to our questions of how many of these operations they had performed and provided a list of persons they had done this work for to call and obtain their opinions. Although we had other quotations we chose them because of their experience, knowledge, and equipment to perform the job. They worked steadily in rain, cold, and good weather and did the job in nine days very professionally.

I was greeted by a pleasant associate when I called the company to schedule our job. On the initial call she told me the name of who would be doing the estimate. She also let me know I would receive a packet prior to the visit which would include a picture of the person who would be knocking on my door and a list of customers who had used their service in my area. The list that came was extensive and arrived the next day. I had to cancel the appointment because our project scope changed but this would be the first company I would call in the future if the need arises.
Description of Work: We ended up cancelling our appointment with the company because the scope of our project changed abruptly. However, I was very impressed with the scheduling experience that I felt compelled to share it on Angie's List.

The crew showed up on time to begin work. Less than an hour into the project, we were informed that our 1920's house had no footings under the foundation, and that to continue with the original plan was unwise, as the basement walls could fall in. Demolition of insulation in the crawl space also showed evidence of standing water that had not been visible before. The foreman for the project reworked the estimate, given the new information, and we were told the project would almost double in scope and cost. We expressed concern about the cost, and he called the main office, spoke with them a while, and was able to decrease the overall cost a great deal. While it was still more than the original estimate, it was within our reach. The crew worked very hard. The project was messy and extensive, but in the end it is all that we could have wished for. Our basement is warm for the first time in years. It is dry, and during the last rainstorm, we had no water on the floor. We have gained more storage space, and we can tell the house itself is warmer and dryer. There is no longer a "cellar" type of odor. Shortly after the project began, one of my daughters, who has allergies, began coughing due to the dust kicked up by the project. After the work was done, Indiana Foundation provided us with a very large air purifier and dehumidifier as a loaner until the air was clean and her cough stopped. They were responsive to my concerns in all things, and especially re: my daughters health. We are so pleased we did the work, even with the increased cost. I believe that the value of what was done for our home was well worth it, and Indiana Foundation was a pleasure to work with. We would use them again in a heartbeat, and would highly recommend them to anyone else with these issues.
Description of Work: We contacted Indiana Foundation to look into wrapping our crawl space. Paige came out and gave us an estimate for that service, but also spoke with us about going farther. He spoke about what could be done in our wet basement, and was knowledgable about products and services. We were surprised at the affordability of the whole project, and so contracted with them to seal and wrap our dirt/gravel crawl space, as well as drain and waterproof the open part of the basement. A dehumidifier would be installed.

We would like to thank this member for sharing their experience with our company. It is true that with foundation repair, unforeseen issues arise once the crew begins concrete removal. We appreciate your patience and willingness to rework the plans and move forward with the additional work required. We are pleased to hear this member is satisfied with the work done and hope they enjoy the extra storage space and dry, warm basement.

We had a rough start with the company from the begining. We first had to be rescheduled our original appointment because another job they were working required more time/effort. Once the appointment was scheduled and Indiana foundations employees arrived on the job, the company that was contracted to expand our crawlspace opening did not show because of their prior commitments to another job. The contracted company, which was through Indiana Foundation, arrived the next morning after the Cleansystem was completed and used their wet saw to expand the opening. Which of course allowed slush and slewy from the wet saw to land on the newly installed Cleansystem. I was upset because then there was a big mess on the work that had just been completed. Once Indiana Foundation was contacted about this situation, they immediately sent an employee out to clean the crawlspace. The other situation with Indiana Foundation arose with the expansion of the crawlspace access from the basement and the header support. I kept asking about supporting the opening that was being made larger but was not getting complete answers. (Customer Service, Sales Rep., Crew Leader) So I requested a general manager or someone with an an engineering degree to look at the problem and offer some educated suggestions. After a couple meetings, the generals manager After about four visits we were finally done and I am very happy with the out comeon
Description of Work: We had two lentels filled with concrete in the foundation and the crawlspace enterance widened. We also had the crawlspace encapsulated with their "Cleanspace System" which is a 30 mil. bisqueen with taped seems.

We had an area along the foundation of our house where a significant amount of dirt had washed away and we were concerned that we may have had some foundation problems. Our appointment was set for about a week after we called and it was raining on the day of the quote so we were able to move the appointment time to a time that worked better for us. Dave told us that we did not have any foundation issues and provided some options for preventing this from happening again. The quote was free and Dave was very professional. We would definitely use Indiana Foundation Service again.

Our Indiana Foundation serviceman checked the function of our Sump Pump & found the power was off. Evidently the power switch had flipped off in the fuse box at sometime. Once that was rectified, the sump pump worked fine. He did caution me to check the fuse box periodically to confirm the Sump Pump power is on. He also told me something I did not know. When the Sump Pump is changed after 5 yrs of usage, the old one, if still functional & in good condition, can remain as a back-up running & sitting along side the newly replaced sump pump. I'm not sure how that would work, but it is an idea & something to remember when you have one replaced. He found & notified me of a functional problem with our dehumidifier in our crawl space - the pump light was on - indicating it was not working properly. Thus, I notified the company that installed the dehumidifier to come out for an inspection & repair.
Description of Work: This was our annual Indiana Foundation service inspection/service call of our crawl space/Clean-Space installed several years ago and of the Sump Pump. Our sump pump was checked by adding water to the well, to make sure it was functioning properly, and our crawl space/Clean-Space was inspected for any leaks or any other problems.

It went great overall. Great workers doing a great job. They ran into some big tree roots and had to use a ax to get through. They also had to run the line under my sidewalk. They leveled and reseeded where needed. The ground was so hard from lack of rain that I know it took them longer than anticipated to complete the job. The estimator was on time and kept in touch with me several times from start to finish. We were getting some water in the basement when it really poured, but it wasn't the basement that was the problem, but rather the outside downspouts that weren't flowing right.
Description of Work: They installed roughly 125 feet of both 4 and 6 inch drain corrugated pipe. They used a ditch witch to dig the tunnel from the downspouts to the center of the yard. Installed caps on the ends to prevent critters from getting in.
