I was very satisfied with their service and I have signed a contract to have them come out annually to service my heating and air conditioning. They were very careful to wear boots over their shoes so that they didn't track and dirt on my carpet.

Three years ago this company sold us a new air conditioner without a new coil. Recently the unit was not coolng so we called them. Found out from thier technician the air conditioning unit should no have been installed without a new coil three years previously. Charge $251.00 to ad two pounds of R-22. Thirty days later, the unit was no cooling. Called them back out. Technician wanted $74.00 to tell us we need a new coil for $2000.00. We got a second opinion and coil was quoted @ $1300.00.

It was explained and noted in your contract in 2006 that the replacement of only the air conditioner was not the best thing to do. You declined the coil replacement as recommended in 2006, citing that you only wanted to spend what you had to and that was it. It is not fair to our company your allegations and I hope others make example of this. The coil was not quoted at $2000, it was quoted at $1602. Please feel free to discuss this. I have personally been involved with calls from technicians at your home and we have been extremely fair in pricing, informative on your options and have been expiditious in service. They said they refused to fix it. He felt it was too old to fix, and I said I am the customer and told him that if I wanted it fixed that I should be able to get it fixed. I did call out someone else and they put in the freon and it was fixed.
Description of Work: They come out to service the Air Conditioner. We knew the unit needed freon. I asked for them to check for a leak. I had to pay for the service even though they never checked for a leak or put in any freon.

Our company has to maintain ethical standards - sometimes at the loss of a customer (in this case a new customer). It is against the law to continually pump pound after pound of Freon into an air conditioner that is and has been leaking for a very, very long time. Unfortunately it has been the many owners and participants in my industry that allow this "gas and go" process as we call it to continue. All of the years and visits that your service stickers shows equates to thousands of dollars of over payment of utilities, service and diagnostic fees that could have been prevented, and so on. "Gasing" system is by no means fixing it - it is simply prolonging failure and costing you the couple hundred dollars for the freon and labor to put it in. Looking at it this way, your version of fixing is truly doing a dis-service only to you. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your concerns, I stand by my technicians decision to do the right thing. Tony Locker showed up on time as promised and was very professional. We had a new system installed in 2006 by another company that has since gone out of business so we have been looking for a good company to replace them and after several attempts with other companies that did not go well we decided to try Williams Comfort Air after reading their profile on Angie's List. So glad we did. Tony is a true professional. He listened as I explained all our issues and addressed each one. Tony explained how our system was supposed to work and why it wasn't doing what it was designed to due. Most of the problems were in the intial programming of the electronic brain when the system was installed. He fixed all the issues and did the most detailed clean and inspect I have ever seen done on an AC unit. We purchased a service agreement.
Description of Work: Had AC unit serviced and inspected. Troubleshot and fixed problem with air flow coming out of ductwork.

Tom Panyard was the rep that came to assess our house and discuss options for replacing our HVAC system. Tom was very professional and timely. He called to let me know he may be a few minutes delayed due to traffic. We got a lot of information and pleasantly surprised by the options and prices. We have decided not to do the work right now but plan on using Williams Comfort Air when the time comes to replace our HVAC.

I have used Williams in the past and have been very happy with them and had expected to use them on this job. I calledalled Williams for an estimate on a brand new Carrier Air Conditioning and Furnance. They came out and were very knowledgeable but at what cost? There quote was over $4,5000 more than what I actually got the same exact equipment and job done for. You are reading that correctly over $4,500 higher than other quote....My advice is while Williams knows what they are doing...Shop around or you will pay Thousands more than you have to for the same knowledge and equipment elsewhere. I am very happy with my new system that someone else sold me and installed at thousands and thousands less than Williams would have.

I am glad to hear that you are satisfied with your new system. Williams Comfort Air is a good sized company. With are size we definitely receive great pricing on equipment and materials because of the scale that we purchase in. Unfortunately, many people view a heating and cooling system as a commodity item. There are a number of manufacturers that build product as a commodity and thus charge commodity prices. It is not humanly possible that the product that we estimated is remotely close to the product that was quoted $4000 less. There are several brands (as stated above) that make workable entry level products that do not offer comparable efficiencies, warranties and performance as many of the products that we offer. This can in no way shape or form be comparing apples to apples and I hope that this experience can serve education to others. We ALWAYS encourage other estimates and will never claim to be the lowest cost provider in this market – that is not us. I apologize if our consultant assumed the level of quality you were looking for in the products that he recommended. It is possible that he didn’t acquire the correct answers to questions or maybe did not educate you on these vast differences. Maybe both decision makers were not available and there was a loss of translation. I will never know because we were not awarded the opportunity to analyze your other offers. Regardless, our presentation did not appeal to you as it should have, and I apologize. I hope that this does not deter you from using our services in the future. Technician diagnosed problem as bad capacitor and bad contactor. Quoted price to replace at approximately $500. Since we have a new baby and no A/C didn't really have much choice to get unit running and the temps in the 90's predicted. Repair was made and unit works fine. Wrote check for $498 and called it a day. Found out that the parts installed cost less than $25 a piece. Don't fall for or be victim to "FLAT RATE PRICING". It benefits only the company not the consumer. Williams Comfort Air should be ashamed of themselves for gouging their customers

I am confused with your inquiry – I show that on 6/9 we ran $351, not $500 – is there something that I have missed? Please contact me if our accounting records are not correct (317-844-3944 – Josh Huck). Please do not be confused with the breakdown of the charges from this visit. The flat-rate charges were $182. You agreed to participate in an annual maintenance agreement which earns you priority service and discounted repairs. This agreement costs $169, bringing the total to $351. I assure you the part costs more than $25. It is very costly to run a business and get that technician to your door. Many people complain of price - especially lately with the economy. Our pricing is built in with a 10% profit – but is most times below 5% - which is used to invest in employees, trucks, inventory, training and much more. McDonald’s publically boasts 27%, Yahoo and Google both greater than 45% profit. Knowing this, everyone continues using their search engines and continues buying cheeseburgers knowing that $0.30 of the $1.00 you give them goes straight into their pocket! We on the other hand provide products and services that are managed and owned locally, provide services that keep your home safe and comfortable, yet get condemned when we ask what is owed. Our price three months ago (out of season) was no different than on this 90 degree day. If you would like the estimated $30 that we ideally would have profited returned to you, I can definitely arrange to make this happen. We have been pleased with Williams Comfort Air. This is the second heating and cooling system we have purchased from them and they do what they say.
Description of Work: This was a followup annual service call. We purchased a new heat pump heating and cooling system from Williams Comfort Air last year. All air filters were cleaned and one item was noted to need repair. The technician put in an order for parts and will be back to complete the repair. All covered under warranty.

I had an appointment with Rick White a sales representative for Williams Comfort Air. He seemed to be knowledgeable and cordial as he presented the different options for our heating and cooling needs. Williams installs Carrier and Trane systems. I liked this because I found out that Carrier is manufactured in Indianapolis. We finally decided on a system that seemed to meet all our needs. He gave us a few minutes to make up our mind we decided that we would like to get one or two more estimates from a different company. When he came back in the house and we would not sign on the dotted line, the price was no longer good that he quoted us if we did not accept the offer today. His whole demeanor changed. He ended up slamming his brief case together and storming out of the house. I don?t know about other members but I don?t appreciate high-pressure tactics. We probably would have ended up purchasing a system from Williams had it not been for this type of salesmanship. Fellow members there?s better choices out there, you should always get more than one estimate. We ended up going with another company that is top rated on Angie?s List and had no high pressure

From the initial phone contact, through the sales visit and installation, the experience was excellent. Each of the contacts exhibited professionalism in their area. The installation was scheduled for the next day after agreement and was completed in an uneventful and professional manner. The installation was completed in one day. The workmanship was neat and the installing team thoroughly cleaned all work areas. The installer even corrected, without being asked, a poorly designed condensate drain of the furnace (installed a few years ago by an other vendor).

This process was pretty seamless and professional. Jay provided me with the estimate, and I chose to go with Williams and the Carrier product because of Jay and the rebate that manufacturer provided. The 2 guys who put in the system were awesome. They kept the house clean and worked diligently to get everything done, despite the 90 degree temps outside. I would highly recommend them. Competitive pricing, professional staff over the phone, and easy to use website were other advantages.

Worked with Tom on the job. He estimated the job but we had a couple of issues before we got to the end. First the original system configuring turned out not to qualify for the tax credit and then there was a $1000 math error on a subsequent estimate. We got through all that and came up with a system that works. The installation crew did an excellent job. The price shown above is before manufacturer rebates and tax credits, so the net amount is lower.

Tony Locker was Service person and was honest timely and a pleasure to work with. He said unit could be repaired and a cost estimate. He said it would take an hour but that he could only check certain things and would not be able to give final verdict until work was done. Within hour it was repaired and Tony said there were no other problems.

Tony was pleasant and answered all my questions. He worked within my constraints and what he advised was the best way to solve the problem.
Description of Work: Tony came out for routine maintenance on my A/C. The unit is very old and needs to be replaced, he did a thorough inspection and explained the problems with the system and what I needed to due to make an informed decision. There were additional repairs that had to be done to make the unit continue running until replaced.

Pretty smooth installation, considering the complexity of this project. Williams was patient with us during the RFQ phase, and negotiated honestly and agreeably during the pricing phase. They listened and understood our concerns regarding minimizing damage to our landscaping during the loop installation, and worked hard to minimize actual and unavoidable damage. They were very comprehensive in redesigning the airflow in our installation, and the finished product is very satisfying.
Description of Work: Installed a geothermal heating/cooling system, including vertical ground loop, zone controllers, and gas auxilliary furnace. Mitigated return-airflow issues.

GREAT JOB! The first service tech, Nick, who I met to do our preventative maintenance visit found a leak in our evaporate coil. The repair would cost more than a new air handler. Tom, the sales consultant, explained all of the different options available. The research I did on the internet matched the information Tom shared with me. Tom and I spent about an hour and a half together discussing my needs and measuring the rooms of the house. The rebates and the federal tax credit were a strong factor in me picking this system. Comfort Air was able to accommodate our schedule to install the unit. I was not able to be home so my wife spent the day at home with the installers. The installers showed up on time! They were professional and knowledgeable. I received one phone call from my wife explaining that Steve and Bashar were installing an air filtration system and had a humidifer system ready to put onto the system. She knew these were items we had not agreed to in the contract. She explained this to Steve and Bashar and they contacted Tom. I also contacted Tom. Tom and I agreed that the filtration system and the humidifer were their mistake. Tom stated that the air filtration system would be a gift to us no charge and they would not install the humidifer system. I arrived home from work about an hour before the installers finished the project. It is very satisfing to find a company that follows through on their committments. Williams Comfort Air was not the least expensive of the estimates I received, but it was a fair price for the outstanding service we received. We now have a heating and cooling company we can count on for continued service.
Description of Work: Bashar and Steve, the technicians, installed a new Infinity heat pump system with a matching Infinity air handler. They installed a new pad, snow legs, sevice safety disconnect box and new refrigerant lines for the heat pump. They also installed the necessary duct transitions at the new furnace (air handler). They also installed a matching thermostat and a new return air vent and duct in the master bedroom. All of the old equipment was hauled away and the job site cleaned.
