Williams Comfort Air

Williams was very professional in all aspects of how they responded to our needs. They have very courteous and knowledgable technicians. They discovered many installations errors from our previous HVAC company Thiele. Williams Comfort Air corrected everything to get our equipment running correctly and efficiently. I would highly recommend Williams Comfort Air and I will promote their company to everyone!

I ended up buying a service package from them where they came out three different times to service the air conditioner. They did a great job and the air conditioner worked great afterwards. They were punctual and had great pricing. I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

They did a great a great job. The installers were very thorough. They came back to double check the sealing of the duct work. Overall it was a good experience.

During the hottest days of the summer, our A/C was not able to function to desired temperature level. On 7/19/11, we called Williams Comfort Air to come out and take a look at the existing units and also made an appointment for a salesperson to come out anticipating we would need a new one (units were 14 years old and we had trouble with them in the past few years). I was delighted to hear they were able to come out the same day we called (for both service and sales calls). The service call was estimated to be around $200 ($100 per unit), but we were told that if we purchased new units, that cost would be applied to the new units (and they kept their word). After looking at the existing units, we had determined that new ones were needed for two reasons: 1.) the existing units were too small for our 3800 sqft home so they could not keep up in the 90+ degree temps; and 2.) we did not want to spend yet more money repairing one or more of the units just to have to replace sooner or later. The salesperson showed us our options for A/C units, heat pumps, and furnace units. We ended up purchasing two Trane 2.5 ton units (one with a heat pump on the downstairs unit); the serviceman indicated we did not need to replace the furnace units at that time (thank goodness!) and we were also appreciative that the salesman did not push the sale of the furnace unit or a heat pump on the upstairs unit. Another great thing is that they were able to install the very next day - again thank goodness because our home got up to 92 degrees; it was an awful night at the house. We would have gone to a hotel, but didn't want to leave all the pets by themselves. On installation day, they sent out five men and they arrived around 8:30 (on time) and they were finished by 2:30 (which included them having to remove/put back the water heater to access the furnace during installation). The installation team left the worksite the way they found it and they always put on their booties before entering the house. They were also kind enough to show us how to operate the thermostat vs. just showing us where the handbook was in the packet. We would recommend this provider to friends and family.

This company is responsive to the customer's need! We called before a holiday weekend and were able to have our whole heating and cooling system replaced with no wait or delays. The installers were pleasant well mannered and left the house clean.

Air conditioning and furnace replacement

The first year service was included in the purchase price of the system and so I didn’t spend anything for the service. The job went fine and he seemed to know what he was doing. I went with them for the air conditioner because of their price.

I just liked their professionalism about the way they installed the furnace. I liked the product that they sold. I picked the company itself after reading their reviews on Angie’s List. They did an excellent job in taking out the old furnace and putting in the new one. There were three workers and they were great. I would definitely recommend them to others. I didn’t get a quote from anyone else.

I purchased a contract from them for my furnace and air conditioning unit. They come out twice a year. In fact, I need to call them again to do the air conditioning. I never had any problem with them. I am pleased with them. They are reliable. They were responsive. They came when they said they would come. Their price was reasonable. They did everything that I wanted them to do. I would use their service in the future too.

PERFECT! He was on time, professional and done a great job no problems, complaints or issues I recently used Irish heating and cooling to install a heat pump and that was a huge mistake. Was not professional, one of the installers was playing with my son's basketball in the garage. They could not get it to work properly so another person came out, still did not work properly. Next day a couple more guys came out, still did not work properly. Another day a guy came out and got it to work because the other guy did not install properly. The wires are not installed properly and used electrical tape to tape them to the side of the furnace and remain there today. Hole in the foundation to run lines was not filled so I purchased supplies and patched myself. They cashed my check faster then I could write it because I tried to stop payment. Another heating and cooling contractor looked at it and actually laughed. At this point I will be calling Shelby heating and cooling to inspect and correct all mistakes.

They were very professional and did a good job. They also did some other small jobs like installing a new vent. They were very efficient.

They did an exceptional job. They did really well and did exactly what they said they were going to. It was a big job but they were here for a couple of days. They worked professionally. When they came in they worked the whole time and finished the job and cleaned up and left. That was all we wanted to have done and the system works; so we really got everything that we wanted to out of it. I’d say the price was average compared to the others.

I was quoted a little over $8000 before the $2100 discount so the final cost would be a little over $6000. The saleman was very polite, professional and responsive to the emails I sent him with follow up questions after receiving the estimate. However, I have used another AC / Furnace repair company (Appel) for many years, so I contacted them to see if they had a similar special promotion occurring. Appel did not have a similar offer, however their regular (not via a 'special offer') estimate to replace both our AC and furnace was CHEAPER than the estimate from William's Comfort Air even with William's Comfort Air 'special offer' for a "free" furnace. Turns out the 'special offer' from William's Comfort Air was not so special! Additonally, Appel advised me, whether continuing to use Appel or switching to another company, that I should not to replace the AC and furnace units unless I was having problems with the units. While the William's Comfort Air salesman did not do a hard push sell, he didn't provide this guidance either. I really appreciated Appel's honesty and guidance!!! I will be sticking with Appel for my heating and AC needs. Lastly, to note, I have used William's Comfort Air/Metzler's Mr. Plumber and would recommend Metzler's Mr. Plumber....Larry Metzler is great.

I received an estimate and the unit was installed the next day. The sales associate was very professional and didn't try to pressure me into making a decision. I felt he was honest in estimating how much I should expect to save on heating costs with the heat pump. I did get three estimates and Williams price was in the middle. Based on the good reports I got from Angie's List I decided to go with Williams. I felt the installers did a good job and they were eager to answer any questions I asked. I would recommend them to my neighbors and family.

The technician from Williams Comfort Air Company did a good job. He seemed like a very kind man. I didn’t feel ripped off. I was happy with the overall service. I would use them again in the future.

The experience was okay. I think the service is good and the company is honest. All their exorbitant charges are written down and explained but their pricing structure forces one to sign up for ‘care free maintenance agreement’ or the charge for the work is much higher. I feel bullied by the company policy. They charged us $219 when they attended the heat call and charged $387 when they attended the plumbing call. I would use them again because I am trapped in their endless cycle of ‘free’ service maintenance agreements.

I called Williams on May 31st with no air conditioning. They came out later that day and gave me an idea of what needed to be done. I had urgent needs to get this fixed with company coming later that week. I think they went over and above the usual effort to get my air conditioner replaced in a timely fashion fitting around my schedule. Another company I called couldn't even sent anyone out for a week. They did a nice job of cleaning up around the area in the basement as well.

The fan on the outside compressor unit locked up and no A/C during the first early wave of heat in Indy area. Called a few reputable companies in the area for quotes. Although Williams Comfort Air was slightly higher, they could come out the next day to replace the entire system. The salesperson, Frederick, was very professional and did a good job of explaining the various systems available and coordinating the service. The 2 installers arrived @ approx 9 am and finished around 4:30. They worked hard, were very clean - putting down tarps, wearing shoe coverings and took away the old systems and all trash, etc. They were not very personable but were there to focus on the purpose of getting it all installed in one day.

I had Thiele out to check out my broken Rheem blower in June of 2010. They said the blower couldn't be repaired/replaced because my furnace was done. I would need to have a new furnace installed. Received a quote from Boone at Thiele that I thought was high. I also got an estimated from Broad Ripple Heating and Cooling which was much more competitive. One of my friend's mom works at Williams so I got a quote from them. Their unit was a little more expensive than Broad Ripple's, but it was for a Carrier furnace and AC. In addition it came with an outstanding warranty from Carrier and Williams Comfort Air. The warranty is 15 years parts and labor through Williams Comfort air, and 10 years parts and labor through Carrier which are both unheard of. Lennox (Broad Ripple) and Rheem (Thiele) were no where near this generous with their warranties. My initial quote was $6799 for both high efficiency units. I would get $200 back from Duke, $220 from Vectren, and $1365 was my remaining credit for the 2009/2010 Energy credit. I called them to offer $6500 paid in full with a check, and they counter offered $6600 which I accepted. Installation went smoothly and I have been very happy so far. I received my Duke rebate within about 1 week to 10 days and sent in my Vectren rebate. My net was about $4850 which i think is pretty good for 2 high efficiency units. In addition I received a 1 year CAIR FREE agreement through Williams Comfort Air, good for a furnace and AC inspection and cleaning the 1st year. I used my furnace cleaning in March and the technician was very helpful. I will get my A/C unit serviced in July and then am planning on renewing my CAIR FREE agreement for another year. My advice for those of you needing a new Furnace & or A/C is to get at least 3 different proposals. Also, the HVAC sales industry is much like buying a car. The salesmen can negotiate. Don't take the 1st offer or you could have buyer's remorse.

They were very nice. They gave some tips on other things. The gentleman was very nice. He finished fast. I will probably call them back.

Our sales representative was knowledgeable and competent. They did a thorough planning on site for the job and arrived with the right equipment to do the job. The conversion required a water heater and part of the water softener to be relocated. Additional duct work was required of the existing installation to improve the air flow. They protected the flooring and cleaned up after themselves over the 2 day installation. We are very pleased with the product and installation quality.

When the service tech arrived, he stated that my entire system was pretty much shot after performing some tests on it. These are tests of course that I paid for. I immediately told him that I would just go ahead and purchase an entire new unit. He called the sales department and had a rep come that same day. I paid for the service call and all of the tests that were done and then he left. A couple of hours later the sales rep came and presented me with a few options of their higher end units. I selected one and the crew came out the next day for installation. The installation crew was actually the best part of the whole experience, they were very fast, knowledgeable and clean. At the end they took time to go over the new system with me and answered all of my questions. What I did not like about this experience was that they did not seem to work with me on paying the initial service call charge when I in fact turned around and immediately without getting any other quotes and did business with them. I just think for almost 10,000 dollars, and not seeking other estimates, they could have done more. Or maybe this is just my lesson learned for not doing so???

I have a service agreement with them. They come twice a year, in the fall to check the heating system and in the spring to check the air conditioner. I didn’t spend anything this time because I have a service plan which I paid for last September. They check everything to make sure it is running properly. I have two units. We did have a problem on one unit but it was under warranty. The system is just two and a half years old. They clean everything and make sure the thermostats are working properly. They are very thorough. They are here for a couple of hours. I like them. I have never had a problem. I would continue to use them in the future.

Sales person came to home and spoke about their business. We were more interested in how they trained their installers and if they kept their training up-to-date with current changes in AC/Heating. Sales person answer all our questions showed us the different AC/furnace we could select for the size of our house and allowed us to make the decision as to what AC/Furnace we wanted to purchase. We did on line research so had a general idea what to ask and knew pretty much what we were looking for. The sales person did not try to push a certain product allowed us to make the selection. The installers contacted me on the day of the installation and told me they were on their way to my home and approximately how soon they would be arriving. I showed them where the AC/Furnace was located and that I had 4 cats and that the one door had to be kept close while they working on the furnace. They started the installation at 9:00am and finished at 3:15pm. they went over the features we selected on the furnace and went over the thermostat functions. The only thing that upset me at the end was that we had applied for financing with them. The installers said that they were to collect a payment for the job it was a COD job. I told the installer that we arranged financing and the installer called someone got a recording and left. I called the salesperson and he said that our financing was approved and that the main office had a new software that printed out all jobs as COD. We did receiving the paperwork for the financing in the mail a couple of days later. Otherwise I was very well please with the work performed and received a 10 warranty Plus that includes 3 Yr Money-Back Guarantee, 3-Yr lemon guarantee, 3 yr performance guarantee 10 yr parts & labor warranty, $100 no-frustration guarantee, Property protection guarantee, and a $250.00 installation date guarantee. In the long run we paid a high price but sometimes you have to pay a high price to receive good quality products and service. . We received a 1 year free maintenance on the AC/Furnace.
