Our whole home humidifier broke down but I never realized it until I went down in the basement to investigate static shocks that I had been getting all winter. We decided to go with Williams Comfort Air based on positive reviews on angieslist. Bought a coupon for $50 in service. They scheduled an in-home service on a weekend day (about 18 hours after I called in to schedule appt). This was great. Service personel who visited my house went through checking each and every aspect of my HVAC unit and explained on how to check each one of them for faults in the future. Our hudifier's intake valve was broken and it would have cost me $$$ to replace it. Decided to buy a more efficient modern humidifier instead. Service guy brought in a honeywell unit and installed it the same day. They even credited the $50 service coupon charge towards the final bill. I am one extremely satisfied customer. We have decided to buy a new furnace and heat pump from them later this year. Will definitely recommend their courteous and professional staff to everyone.

They are fabulous. Their work is really great. We have them on a regular maintenance plan.

My furnace was not able to maintain the set temperature in the new house we'd just moved into. Called at 6 am and someone answered the phone, took my info and said a service guy would be out as soon as possible though they were very busy on a 0 degree day. Service guy called and was at the house by 9. Checked the whole system - turned out to be the filter. Signed up for the annual maintenance plan due to the friendly, fast and efficient service. The only charge was for the maintenance plan.

It went very well. This was a second estimate on a repair/replacement of the motor on our 3 1/2 year old furnace. The technician (Nick) was professional and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service skills. He concurred with the first estimate as to the problem, however the cost for labor was over $100 less than the first estimate. With his excellent service we were happy to switch our maintenance plan to Williams Comfort Air. The price above includes the replacement of the motor and the $189 Annual Fee for twice yearly maintenance. We told Nick of the problems we have been having with dust and allergens and with our clothes dryer vent. We will be calling him to do our total vent cleaning as soon as we are done with repainting the interior of the house and installing a new fireplace. If the rest of the company is as good as Nick, I can see why they have been rated so highly on Angie's List.
Description of Work: Replacement motor installed on our 3 year old furnace. The cost above includes $189 for a new annual maintenance plan.

Technician came and checked over the furnace, pointed out that the thermostat was wired wrong and that my fancy furnace filter was bogging my furnace down. Technician was informative, helpful, and professional! I will absolutely call again next year for an annual inspection, just to make sure all is still well!

My only complaint was scheduling the appointment. I don't know if it was because this was purchased as a Big Deal, but it was almost 6 weeks between making the appointment and the actual call. Also, they would not specify a time of day until the day of the appointment, which makes it very difficult to plan your day. If that is standard practice, I would be hesitant to use them again because of scheduling problems for my wife and me. Otherwise, the actual service went just fine. .

First the good, all the technicians (about 7 or 8) with which I've dealt have been excellent. The GeoThermal installers were very professional, clean, well-spoken and answered many of my questions about how things worked when they were doing the install. I had called several other installers in the area and decided to use WCA because of their verti-zontal drilling technique. The install went very well, though it may have taken an extra 1/2 day overall than what they had originally anticipated; which meant it took about 3.5 days to do the install vs. 3. The dig site was roughly 4 feet by 8 feet and maybe 5 feet deep. Now that it has been 18 months since the install, the mound is fairly level (maybe 3 or 4 inches higher than the ground around it). The smaller hole by the house evened out in only a few months. The inside install looks fantastic and was cleaned very well prior to their departure. I have referred two of my friends to install Geos as well to WCA. While I can't comment on their opinions, I know one went very well, and other, well.. had some issues.. A.> they dug when he was on vacation when he specifically said not to, B.> didn't dig where he wanted them to, and C.> nicked an electrical line which caused them to lose a lot of food because their power was out while they were on vacation; and the nicked line also gave their kids a bit of a shock (literally) when they got in their pool. I believe WCA and my friend are now on good terms as WCA helped out in a proper way. The issue I have with WCA started with their sales rep (who is no longer with the company). The rep had informed me (and a friend of mine who also had them do a Geo install) that the 15 year warranty only required a 1 time per year maintenance (because the Geo is internal, you don't have to worry about the different heating and cooling cycles.. same unit, just running in a different direction essentially). However, after further discussion the following year, I've been informed that in order to get the extra 5 years of maintenance, there has to be maintenance done twice a year... which obviously was not part of my original ROI calculations and add another roughly 1.5 years to break even. And, to WCA defense, the contract does state 2/year (so I've learned to never trust a salesman ... silly me) I was also told that everything was covered (including my water heater), but I'm not overly confident that's included with my current twice per year maintenance agreement. My other frustration occurred today when I called for a quote on a humidifier. I asked roughly how much one would cost and was told that I had to have someone come out; though I could have the same guy that was at my home last week if I wanted to (it's a small purchase and I don't have time to be at home for both another quote and then again when they come back to do the install). After hanging up I found a decent offer (though not the cheapest) here on Angie's list for WCA to install a whole house humidifier for about $40 more than a competitor. I called to find out what model of Honeywell it was and was told it was the "Advanced" one; though, the kind ladies didn't know which model it was (my assumption is it is the HE300). So, in conclusion, I like the work of WCA very much. I believe they train their service technicians very well. My main beef is with their sales department (which may be better now that certain personnel is no longer there). Thus, I'd definitely select WCA again because of their Verti-Zontal Drilling technique and "competitive" pricing (though they were not the cheapest solution). I do look forward to having their professional technicians service my existing equipment, but I will be shopping other minor purchases (like a whole house filter) around to see if other HVAC companies have an easier to work with sales department.
Description of Work: WCA installed a 3 ton WaterFurnace GeoThermal System for my 2400 square foot suburban house (typical Carmel neighborhood) along with a new water heater and desuperheater as well. Since the install, they've been out twice for regular maintenance.

Overall the service went Great! - no high pressure to buy a new furnace, just advised me to keep in mind that as the furnace ages, parts can fail, adding up to big dollars -at some point, I might want to consider a new furnace. They suggested if financially possible to replace ac/and furnace at same time for great savings. I hope to do just that in a few years.
Description of Work: Furnace would not fire up, kept short cycling, I turned the furnace off and called Williams Comfort Air. Technician came out and after testing determined a new circuit board was needed, the furnace is 9 years old.

In this our most recent use of the services of Williams the appointment was made by phone, we were contacted by the plumber when he was on the way, he arrived on schedule, performed the required services, gave us copies of the paperwork, cleaned up and left. This is typically the kind of service we have received from Williams.

The base price for majority of their service was extremely expensive. They offered a coupon to waive the service call, as far as they perform the repair. After checking the problem, I was told the expensive cost and I might have as well paid a less expensive company for the service. After repair, the system still has the same issues and this company still intends to charge an additional fee to fix the problem.
Description of Work: The system was not heating up properly. After arriving at location, seemed like the technician was not really sure what the issue was. I was offered a quick fix solution, which only worked for minutes after making a payment.

We didn't have a major issue with our HVAC, but that's beside the point. Allen, the tech, was friendly and informative. Besides fixing what needed fixed, he shared what we thought we may need soon without being pushy, or giving us the hard sell. He was very thorough without wasting his time or ours. Prior to Allen even arriving, the Williams Comfort team was professional without being sterile (too impersonal) on the phone and they communicated everything necessary quickly and to the point. They're my HVAC company of choice from this point forward. The only so-called glitch was contacting them via Angie's List. For a quicker response, I recommend calling your contractor of choice directly after your review process. You'll get a much quicker response. It's not that it was painfully slow, but you will get the ball rolling faster with a direct dial versus an email.

I was very pleased with how well the installation went. I live in Irvington on a fairly small lot. Williams Comfort Air was able to install a vertical loop in the back of my yard between the alley and my privacy fence. They were able to run all the pipes underneath my privacy fence, through the backyard and to the basement without disturbing my fence or yard. I was happy they were able to use the backyard ,so they were able to avoid all the sewer, gas and drainage tiles in the front yard. They were able to place the heat pump and the new Carrier gas furnace in the same location in the basement as the old equipment.and ran all the pipes along the top of the basement to the new equipment. They disposed of my old furnace and air conditioner. It took about a week to dig the heat pit, install the loop and all the new equipment. Everyone from the furnace/heat pump installation team to the crew that dug and installed the loop was very friendly and professional. They seemed to be a very knowledgeable team. My old system was 17 years old and constantly breaking down, so it is fun to have a new system that is on the cutting edge of energy efficiency. My first gas bill dropped to half of what it was the month before.
Description of Work: Williams Comfort Air installed a geothermal heating and cooling system with a vertical loop. It included a new heat pump and gas furnace.

Time involved from estimate to install was one week. Installed the day after estimate accepted and papers signed. This was on a Saturday and we were surprised it was done so quickly and efficiently.

Serviceman was on time and serviced both upper level furnace as well as lower level. Upper. Furnace had no real issues, but the lower level furnace did so he made several suggestions and adjusted the flame which was too high. He suggested replacing the igniter and adding a humidifier which I had already been thinking about doing. Also he suggested cleaning out our duct work which we will do after basement renovations is completed. Suggested their yearly plan and broke down the costs and savings but was respectful and not pushy. My husband and I are considering this plan.
Description of Work: Had 2 furnaces cleaned and serviced. Technician was knowledgable and made suggestions but was not overly pushy.

This was the first winter with my new house, so I wanted to get my furnace fully tuned-up, as I was unsure how well maintained it was. The gentleman arrived early and did a thorough job. Placed call asking that someone to return my call. Never heard a word from anyone with this company and will not ever use them. Terrible service. Phone no. in the yellow pages phone book and on you list are different.

They discovered that our furnace filter (1 month old) was clogged with white dust. Replacing filter improved performance and solved the constant running as heat was not getting to the house. This clogging was due to ultrasonic humidifiers we had recently purchased. Filling them with unfiltered water put lots of particulate matter into the air, that our 4" Honeywell filter was catching. This clogged filter probably cause the problem with the capacitor going out also.
Description of Work: This was the last date of the following services. Annual maintenance on the heat pump system and service agreement $250 Fan motor stopped working. Replaced internal capacitor. $250 The furnace was running constantly. Replaced outdoor capacitors(x2) $500

I purchased the Angie's list deal on line. In a few minutes after the purchase I received a phone call from Williams to schedule the inspection. During the inspection, the technician cleaned the furnace and assured me that it was operating efficiently. The only issue that I had was that they really were purchasing duct cleaning. I did not want this. Since they were here in February I have received several phone calls (not from Williams) from a company wanting to clean my ducts. These are robo calls. I did report this to the secretary of state's office as we are on the "do not call" list. The calls have stopped. I cannot say that Williams was responsible for these calls but we had not had them prior to their visit. Otherwise the service was good.
Description of Work: A winter inspections and tuneup of my furnace was completed.
