We had a sales rep come to the house the following Monday, he did call to ask and see if being 2 hours late was acceptable...I had no other response but yes because we needed a new A/C unit! He showed up looked at our unit and quoted us a price for $7800!!!!! We only need new A/C, there is NOTHING wrong with our furnace but he said we needed it replaced because we had had our ignitor replaced last September. I had told him that I had done some online reviews of manufacturers and he was completely irritated that I would even ask him about other brands. He snapped at me and told me that doing any online research at all of A/C units is futile and a waste of my time. I continued to ask him some questions on some other brands, other brands he was not wanting to sell to me, and he just ignored the question. He left telling me I needed to call him ASAP if we wanted the install the next day....mind you I have two LITTLE kids and it was supposed to be 90 again that day. I had another company come an hour later and he ONLY advised to change the A/C unit out. He said he would replace the furnace but he did not feel right selling me something I do not need. NOT only did was he honest there, he put new refrigerant in our A/C unit FOR FREE!!!! I didn't even ask him to do this. Williams Comfort wanted to charge me $500 for this! I am so completely disgusted with this company I will NEVER go back!! I even called to complain and no one ever called me back.
Description of Work: We got our regularly scheduled "tune-up" done and I had called in previously to let them know we had been having some problems. They checked out our system and immediately came upstairs and said we were in fact having a problem. He gave us a "worst case and best case" and recommended we speak with a sales rep because the repair of the A/C unit would be just about as much as a new unit. This was on a Friday evening, as he was turning to leave he looked back and said good luck making it through the weekend....I have two small children and the temps were reaching the 90s that weekend!

They tried to up-sell me on both furnaces, telling me I needed brand new ones. They charged me diagnostic fees. I said I would get a second opinion to see if I could get them repaired for much less than what they told me. I got a second opinion and had them repaired. I have asked them for my money back and they refused. We have a court date next week.
Description of Work: I had them come out to look at the furnaces on 2 rental properties I manage.

I have called the office again today regarding issues with services performed. I then ask to speak with the manager or president or someone with authority. I was ask my name I was told that Beth was taking note and would emails these notes to Tina Fest thier customer assurance manager. After I speak with her and the services/reimbursements are resolved I will then update this review.
Description of Work: 900sq ft home. 2 intakes and 6 vents all running down center of home. with $300. off special and maintenance agreement $708.00 for a 2008 havc system. Plumbing was to come out and check to see if drain need main cleared and give an estimate on slow leak at water shut off valve.

Because I had an Angies list coupon, I called them for a tune up. Then when I needed the AC before the tuneup, it didn't work. Called WCA again and set the time up. They asked me if there was a problem. There was, so the tuneup coupon was no good and the service call 94.00 wasn't again good unless they did something. So I set an apt for next day or day after for a diagnosis. They came out. Service was prompt and clear. Needed motor and capacitor. To fix was 1400.00 with a couple hundred off if I signed up for the service plan. I suspected I should get a new one. So signed up for the service plan which gave me off the 94.00 if I had anything done. Then he called out the salesguy who came promptly and sold me a new one. It was 3500.00 with the service plan discounts, and no new thermostat. I figured that all these are within a couple hundred dollars of each other and I was locked in so agreed. That was on a Saturday and they installed it on next Monday. They came promptly and did a good job. They were there all day because they thought they had it working and all hooked up blowing cold air, then decided it wasn't working enough and tore apart and re-configured the element on top of the furnace. They answered all questions. They were very courteous and I didn't worry any about the job being done right. One of the guys helped me deconstruct the old AC for re-cycle, which was the extra mile. The new Carrier system has a 10 year parts and labor agreement and is supposed to be more efficient. Cost was horrendous, but what are you going to do? I'm cool now! Only thing is about their advertising. I noticed that I had a coupon that said up to 3,233 off. The fine print said with a furnace. I called the salesguy back and he said that was with a geothermal system too. Couldn't find it in the fine print. He had mentioned that a new furnace might be less than the AC, so I thought I should inquire. Guess not. He said It would run around 10,000 in all to get that 3,233 off. I think they need to work on their advertising. I take things at face value.

Purchased the Big Deal for an air conditioning check and attempted to schedule the appointment. Called two times to attempt this as instructed, but could not because only Tina could schedule appointments and I was told she was busy both times. So I left a message for them to call me. Finally three hours later they called back, but the earliest they could get me an appointment was 2-3 weeks out. I called Angies list and requested a refund. It should not take three phone calls and a game of phone tag to schedule a simple service. Disappointing red tape experience.

I bought a $44 Big Deal for AC tune up. They were helpful and professional on the phone and in person. They were able to be at my house within a couple of days of my call. The service was provided promptly and the representative did not try to sell me any unnecessary parts or repairs. My AC held up perfectly through the long, hot summer last year.

I felt the company did a good job on their service, they were very overpriced. They did match sears price which is the only reason I used them. Not sure if I would continue with them mainly because of the price. Thy told me we had a whole lot of problems, which of course were very costly and we did not do.

First off, I purchased the deal through Angies List for Williams Comfort Air to come out and perform an AC Tune-up for $40. Once I purchased the deal, Tina, the Customer Service Manager, called to confirm my address and set a date and time for one of their technicians to complete an AC tune-up. I set the date and time with Tina and she stated that I would be provided with a 30 call ahead on the day of the service. One day before the service was supposed to be completed; I was made aware that the time frame that Tina provided would not work. I contacted Tina via email and received a response within minutes of sending it. Tina worked with me, even though my confusing changes that I requested. Tina was able to fit a time for a technician to come out and perform the service on a very strict deadline. One the day of the service, I received a call 30 minutes before my AC tune-up appointment stating that the technician is on their way. I told the dispatch person, that I was running behind and would be 15 minutes late; she stated this will not be a problem and she will tell the technician to wait at the house. When I showed up, Greg the technician was waiting in their lime green Williams Comfort Air van. He greeted me and asked if I was on my lunch break, because if so, he would get the work done as quickly as possible, so I could make it back to work on time, I told him no and he that he could take him time. I told Greg that I have a medium sized dog, but he isn?t aggressive, Greg said that is completely fine and said he would like to meet him outside of the house. Greg and my dog met outside in the back where Greg was very nice to my dog?s hyper and wild personality. Greg then asked to be shown where the thermostat and the furnace were located, I showed him both locations. I told Greg about the service we had done on the furnace. He said he would review our equipment, to see if there are any recalls or services that need to be completed on them. Once Greg reviewed the equipment, he walked me through what he would be doing and said if I have any questions about anything, to not to hesitate to ask him. After Greg completed the tune-up, he took me to my furnace and stated we had a non-operational humidifier for our furnace, I told him that was in the inspection report when we purchased the home. He stated that if I would like, he would provide an estimate to get it repaired or replaced, I told him that it wasn?t necessary at this time. He then went through the information that he gathered when he performed the tune-up. He stated everything is okay, but warned me of a condenser that is known to go bad on the type of AC unit we have. He said that there is no sign of it going out at this time, but it could in the future. Greg made sure I had no further questions about the service he performed and mention a service plan, but was not pushy and when I said that I would think about it, but most likely I would purchase the service plan to keep up on regular service for the AC and furnace, Greg didn?t try to persuade me into purchasing it. Greg then made sure his work areas were clean and provided me with some paper work. I was very pleased with the work that Williams Comfort Air's technician Greg completed and because of the fantastic service that Greg has done, I WILL use Williams Comfort Air and I hope that Greg will be the technician for the services. I can say that the technician I had was very pleasant, not pushy and will not try to sell you something that you do not need.

Although Williams Comfort Air has serviced the HVAC system 2x year for the last 8 years, and furnace was serviced in the fall, it still broke down. Since the change in ownership 5 or 6 years ago, the company service has decreased while the hard sell has increased. Other than am or pm time, the office cannot or will not give a reasonable 2 hour time window for arrival. If you press them for time or call the morning of for a better arrival time, they can get snippy. In addition, whether at the house for the routine maintenance or a repair. And I truly understand it's mechanical equipment but the number of times we have been without heat and/or air just a few months after maintenance over the past 8 years is quite frustrating; not sure if it's our bad luck or poorly trained techs. In addition, the technicians, although uniformly polite, respectful and tidy, always spend a good part of each visit trying to upsell upgrades, additional products, services, etc. If I want something new, I'll ask. The icing on the cake was the recommendation to replace the furnace on a 10 degree day when we had no heat. Although Williams did make a parts repair and get it running again (mostly cleaning out dead bugs from a trap that should have been cleaned in the fall), I started calling around for HVAC replacement quotes, Williams was scheduled to give their quote a few days later. Note that I was told that new federal regulations required replacement with a high-efficiency furnace although our current one met the regulations. I researched online and these regs were put on hold in late January, I further noted Williams Comfort Air continued to print advertise the requirement for many months afterwards As I called to schedule estimate times, ince the furnace was only 10 years old, one of their competitors offered a free second opinion. I accepted that offer and they came the day after the repair and although very reluctant to say whether the replaced part really needed done (honestly admitted it was a rare part to replace but possible), they said the furnace was fine, likely had many more years left, and only needed a $100 worth of new hoses. They came out and replaced the hoses the next day. They will be my new HVAC servicing company.
Description of Work: Called them early am to fix a furnace that stopped heating on a very cold day. Even though I have a maintenance agreement and theoretically receive priority service, they were not able to arrive until afternoon, needed to leave to get the part (they charged me an additional part service charge even though the supply place is only a 10 min. drive from my house), and got the furnace working again. That's a yeah: heat. A nay is that the serviceman told me some other things were wrong with the furnace and we should strongly consider replacing as we have had a number of instances where the AC and/or furnace has stopped working during the respective cooling and heating seasons. Distressing since the furnace is only 10 years old and the AC 5 years old (but the old Freon style) so an very costly repair. See more detail below but my rising and discontinuing unease with Williams Comfort Air means I will stop using them.

As a service agreement client you receive priority scheduling; this means, we will fit you in our schedule the same day at a 20-30 mintue call-ahead when a technician finishes on a current job. If you schedule in advance, we give a 2-3 hour time frame for morning and afternoon appointments. Williams Comfort Air's printed advertising on the new EPA regulations came directly from the EPA, including the date that the new regualtions would take affect. At that time it was May 1, 2013, the EPA has now put this on hold and we do not advertise this any longer. We are deeply disheartened you have decided to go with another HVAC company but hope you are happy with them. We would love the opportunity to once again earn your trust. The person who came was very professional and easy to talk to. He looked everything over and found that it wasn't working at the point it should have been working. He cleaned it and it worked very nicely. At the end he offered me a contract. When I decided to not take the contract at that time, he did not push. He said one more thing to give me another chance to sign the contract but that was it. He didn't push and that was a good thing for me.

To my surprise the tune up was scheduled for a specific time instead of the typical window which would have been nice. 8am was the appointment time, but they didn't show up then. I thought maybe I heard wrong but then they called and said the original technician was sick and someone else was coming. No Problem, still better than the 4 hour window I usually get. The guy shows up and I just didn't get a great vibe from him, he was young and stunk of smoke, no big deal though but just not what I expected from the great Williams Comfort reviews. At the end of the cleaning/tune up he pitched the CSA (annual plan) which I declined and also said my Capacitor was at 50% and should be replaced soon and wanted he wanted to take care of it today. If I didn't get the weird vibe I might have done it but I'm going to see what my AC tune up person says and then if he/she concurs I'll do it. Lastly a few weeks following the tune up my blower started making a friction sound at start up, it has gone away but again not overly reassured it wasn't from the tune up. Update 01/26/2014: Had Plumbing Heating Paramedics out for the furnace Tune up this year. At the end of the visit I specifically asked about the Capacitor. They said it was fine and not to worry unless it sounded like the furnace struggled to get started. My instincts above appeared correct.

Overall, very good. Only downfall is they really try and push you to sign up for the yearly maintenance plan.

It started off as $44 inspection but turned into a $500 ordeal. Their prices are sky high but they did a good job.
Description of Work: Williams Comfort Air inspected our air conditioner. I did a first year service contract and they repaired a part in the air conditioner.

i contacted 3 different heating and air conditioner residential contractors and received a quote proposal from each one. WCA was competitive and thorough with their proposal. The work was competently done, by professional, courteous installers. i have had no problems - only one call-back to install new flu which was not replaced with the original installation and had developed a water leak - only bad side to the installation. the flu should have been replaced with initial furnace replacement because the old one was not correct diameter.
Description of Work: Williams Comfort Air installed new furnace, water heater and air conditioner.

This company is not the "old" Williams Comfort Air. It was sold. The service people are paid on commission for selling services. I changed companies because I want to be able to trust that I need the service. Actually, asked one service person to stop trying to sell me things.

I had contacted Williams Comfort Air to take a look at my A/C unit which is not performing any cooling. They were able to make an appointment to come to my house the next day. When the service tech arrived he was very professional, educational, and helpful. He was able to quickly identify the problem (a leaking interior coil) and advised as to what repairs were needed. I then called my home warranty company only to find out that I needed to use the home warranty recommended service provider. Unfortunately I had to simply pay Williams Comfort Air for the diagnostic work as opposed to having them perform the actual work. Even upon informing my service tech of this situation he was still extremely friendly and willing to help me reduce my costs by helping me look for coupons on their website (which unfortunately none of them applied). Given the punctuality, professionalism, helpfulness, and attitude I would highly recommend Williams Comfort Air.
