My first conversation took place with the company's message service because all the lines were busy when I first called. The woman was nice,and told me the company would contact me the next day. The next morning I got a message on my cell phone from the sales department. I called back within 30 minutes. When I reached someone at the company, she told me I had contacted the wrong department and that she didn't to transfer me to the sales department. Before I knew it, I had been transferred back to the message/call service - not a representative in the company'ssales department. I again gave my name, and they said someone would call me back. Since then, I called the company two or three more times, but never got a hold of someone who works for Williams Comfort Air. Each time the phone rang and rang, and then was answered by the message/call service. I guess this mean the company is too busy to take my call. That's good for them, but if it's been this difficult to just speak with someone, I can't image it being any easier scheduling an appointment.
Description of Work: I contacted Williams Comfort Air several times to request an estimate for a potential HVAC project at my house.

The service turned out fine. They came out quickly when we called. They mentioned something about needing more Freon. They put more Freon in. They always want you to think about the fact that this is a very old unit, and we should think about getting a new one which we do not think about until it dies. I do not think that they really did anything different than most companies that we used. We do not normally use them, but it was a good deal. The price was good.

Fine. The tech called me when he was on the way to my home. The young man spent about 2 hours checking and testing the air conditioner and the furnace, changed the furnace filter. He reviewed everything with me and I also renewed the contract for another year. Have noticed a drop in my monthly electric bill since started using Williams Comfort Air. Highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: ** $179.00 annual contract--covers cleaning furnace in the fall and the air conditioner in the spring. I provided the filter for the furnace ($10.00). They did not charge me for the freeon needed for the air conditioner. The "Approximately how much did you spend? number above is 1/2 of the annual contract that I have with them. Would highly recommend this company. Like having an annual contract and knowing i can call for a problem and get help immediately. Did check w/a friend and Angie's list before starting w/ Williams Comfort Air.

We have been satisfied with the overall operation and installation of the system. The air handler was installed on the 3rd floor and part of the job required installing ductwork in the ceiling of two rooms on the 2nd floor in order to better cool that area. In cutting through the plaster on the 3rd floor walls and 2nd floor ceiling there were a couple of areas that required plaster repair which was not repaired by Williams.
Description of Work: Williams installed a new heat pump for cooling and heating the 2nd and 3rd floor of our home. The job required installation of an air handler, condensing unit and related plumbing and electrical work. They also installed four diffusers for the system.

I am so disappointed in the customer service of Williams Comfort Air. We installed our unit within the last 4 years. First year customer service was wonderful. Once paid in full we have been downhill ever since. We had a fellow out yesterday that told us we were not changing our filter enough and THAT was why the unit froze up. I still do not understand why that did not happen in the previous 3 years we have had this unit. Nothing has changed and I have had my 2 cats for 7 years. If he had given me the chance to discuss the issue I would have told him of a number of power surges we have had in the last 10 days that has created issues with other appliances. He did not let me discuss my issues with him, it was all filters and the service tech that told us how often to change the filter did not know the correct thing to do. The Tune up appointment we tried to schedule at the beginning of June was originally set for August.( 2 months due to Williams Schedule, just could not fit us in) The tech reset it for today so the unit could be checked. Guess what, it is raining and NOW we wait untill August again. So I guess double checking the unit is just not that important. We are under a prepaid service agreement as well as the warranty and were still threatened with a 74.00 service fee yesterday, but no not this time. I am sorry to have to write this review but I am just so disappointed with the post sale service. I guess if I needed another replacement I would have the same customer service we had in the very beginning.

Upon arrival, our technician found the media filter plugged and needed changed, causing restriction in air flow. A media filter is recommended to be changed every 3 months; however, if needed must be changed more frequently.The technician agreed to return in 2 days to check the unit again and perform the cooling tune-up. Unfortunately, the day he was supposed to return, there was lightning and we had to postpone it one more day. He did return, perform the tune-up and check the system completely. I had received a flyer from Williams Comfort Air indicating I could get a "Free" furnace with the purchase of a complete HVAC system. I was looking to replace my current system and this flyer happened to arrive at an opportune time. So I called them. The lady I talked to explained the program and wanted me to give them some information so they could see if I was "qualified". So figuring they were going to perform a credit check on me I complied and was called back indicating I was qualified. So we set a date for one of their salesman to stop by the house. The salesman arrived and was very courteous, looked over my system, performed some square footage and duct flow calculations and asked me how my existing system handled the house as far as heating and cooling goes. He talked me through several options available and recommended one based upon his experience. There was no high pressure "you need it now" type of sales. He quoted me a price, which I thought was a little high, to do what was needed and I said I was looking to get some additional quotes before making a decision. So why am I writing this and giving them the rating I did? Basically it comes down to this... they violated my trust! A few days after the salesman left, I received a letter in the mail from Wells Fargo. It was a VISA card from Carrier. This was a card, not an application for a card! I never said I wanted a VISA card, there was never any mention of a VISA card during my initial conversation with Williams Comfort Air or on the flyer that I had received. Giving them information to "qualify" me, does not give them the right to sign me up for a credit card! I take my credit history very seriously! Them sending me a credit card, without me requesting or authorizing it, is to me... outrageous and unprofessional. This from a company that starts out every response to negative feedback "Williams Comfort Air is a company based on trust and customer service."
Description of Work: Set me up for an unauthorized credit card.

It worked out great. I actually wasn't home, my babysitter was there. They seemed courteous, she said. They were fast and she said everything was great. I actually moved, they asked for it before we moved, but it worked out great, I mean, everything was perfectly fine.
Description of Work: Williams Comfort Air did an A/C tune-up for me about a month ago. I purchased the Big Deal for $44 and spent no more than that.

Called on a Friday when our AC fell a little behind. Asked for the $53 tune-up advertised in their promotional. Receptionist said a tech would be out on Monday, but could not give me a time nor a window of time for the visit. Receptionist called at 1pm on Monday and said the tech would be at my house in 20 minutes. And that was the total advance notice I had of the visit. Dropped everything at work and raced home in ten minutes. Tech was already parked in my driveway. Before doing anything or even looking at my unit, he warned that there would be a $94 service call. I told him that I asked for the $53 tune-up. He said he'd check in with the office about that. When I asked him a couple minutes later what they said, he said he had just sent an email. What service worker sends an email when there is an immediate issue with a current service call? Dude spent five minutes looking at my unit, said there was a leak, though he could point to no external evidence of a leak, and that repair would be approximately $2700. Or I could get a new unit for $4500. Then he asked for $94 for the service call. I asked if I could send a check in the mail so that I could call the office to discuss the miscommunication. He said no, that he had to collect the $94 on the spot. I asked if i could use the $94 free service call coupon if I went ahead with the repairs in the near future. "No," he said, because that would be a different visit. Look, maybe my unit does have a leak, or maybe I need a new unit. But I wold never use Williams Comfort Air for either of these things after their purposefully misleading ads and clear, short term, (94 money grab. WCA, why not think big picture with good customer service and honest ads, rather than hoping to weasel them out of a few bucks?

Williams Comfort Air is a company based on trust and customer service. According to our records, Williams Comfort Air was called because your air conditioning was not keeping up. We were asked about the $53 tune-up coupon and our Customer Care Representative (CCR) explained that is for maintenance on a unit that is working correctly. However, our CCR then suggested to use the free service calls with repair coupon that is also available on the same ad. Upon arrival, our technician found and noted on the Summary of Findings, the pressures on the 11 year old unit to be out of manufactures specification. The unit calls for 12 degree sub cool, unit is only at 5 degrees which indicates a leak. A complete electronic leak search was suggested and quoted along with replacement of the evaporator coil, if a leak was found. A new unit was not quoted. I apologize for the misunderstanding. We would be happy to credit the service call fee toward the repair of the unit if you decide to repair. We hope to have the opportunity to once again earn your trust. Tina Festa - Customer Assurance

Tech said price is $750. I stated we wouldn't have bought the unit had we known a UV bulb replacement would be every 2-3 years at that price. My husband did the research and found the bulb for $40. I made complaint to customer service - very kind customer service department - tech called back and adjusted price to a little over $200 with no accountability for outrageous first quote. It is now a lack-of-trust matter.

We bought the big deal and the technician came out and explained our capacitor was shot. He said he could fix it for around $500 but that's a temporary fix explained that on older units like mine after one part goes bad the others follow. He wasn't pushy or trying to just sell a new unit he gave us options and his professional opinion and even recommended a unit for us. The technician then left and the salesman came out and was good to work with he wasn't pushy either he recommended a few and explained the benefits from each unit. He helped fill out the tax credit paperwork and gave us all the discounts available on our unit. We had it installed while we weren't home so didn't get to talk to that technician but when I got home from work we had cold air. I recommend them and will use them in the future!

I had used them to install a furnace and a/c unit. They had offered me a free plumbing service. I ended up having a back up under my house and the first guy who came out was great and they had to come out again but it was a different man and he wasn't as great as the first person who came out but in the end they did exactly what they said they would and there was no charge for the repair. I cannot complain about that. Their pricing was really good and I admit I was a little hard to deal with at first and they offered me a deal I could not walk away from. They gave me a discount package and it works and it's good. Everyone I had to deal with was very very nice along the way. I also referred them to a friend and they ended up doing the installation for her and they sent me a gift card for the referral. They were top notch and I will continue to use them.

They were fine, I guess. They were punctual, polite, professional and did a good job.

I have contract with them for heating and cooling for fall and spring. My experience with them has been very positive. They are very professional; they came when they said they were going to and did what they said they were going to. They also explained it all and it was very positive. I think they are reputable.
Description of Work: I use Williams Comfort Air for heating and air-conditioning. The last time I used them was for my air-conditioner.
