 + -1 moremy furnace was working fine, just needed to be checked and cleaned. i've been having a tuneup every other year, but he advised every year especially since the furnace is now 10 years old. he recommended getting their service plan for $179 which includes a tuneup on both the furnace and air conditioner once a year plus a discount on parts. I originally was considering replacing my thermostat with a nest but decided not to at this time considering the $249 cost and reading some bad reviews about it. On top of their charge to install would have been over $200. He also mentioned the $44 Angies List Deal for the furnace tuneup could probably only be used once for customers brand new to Williams Comfort Air. He was very patient and took time to answering the several questions I had even though their schedule was heavily booked... I had called to rebook for a later date and the next available wasn't for some 6 weeks out!

 + -1 moreWilliams Comfort Air contacted me within the day of purchasing their big deal for furnace maintenance. They scheduled the visit at that time without questions. They provided a reminder phone call the day before the visit. The service technician called 45 minutes prior to arriving. The service technician spent an hour and fifteen minutes completing a thorough diagnostic evaluation and cleaning of my furnace and heat pump. Williams was courteous and professional throughout. Williams also installed my furnace and heat pump originally and I've been given quality service throughout.
Description of Work: Bought a Big Deal for furnace maintenance and tune up. Completed furnace and heat pump diagnostic check and cleaning.

 + -1 moreI called for service on my furnace when it would not light. The tech diagnosed the problem as a bad gas valve. The tech provided an estimate for replacement of the gas valve, ignitor, and fan capacitor. They were going to charge $530 for the valve plus an additional $214 non-stock item fee. A total of $744 to replace the valve. I located a brand new gas valve on-line for $130. They quoted $190 for the capacitor, located on-line for $45. They quoted $131 for the ignitor, located on-line for $15. I have no problem with a company making a profit for their goods and services but they do not have to gouge costumers to do it.

 + -1 moreThis was three year old AC unit. The technician reported the defective part was eligible for warranty replacement. The bill was still almost $250. It took Williams Comfort Air almost three months to bill me; which I do not understand.

 + -1 moreIt was extremely disappointing. They came out over the summer and took care of a problem with my air conditioning system. They were responsive, fixed the issue, and talked me into paying for a check of the heating system prior to winter, which I did. They called me to schedule the appointment, and said that it would be 3 months before they can get to it. Winter would be nearly over by then. This company has done good work for me in the past, but I cannot work with a company that requires 3 months lead time on scheduling. I am going to have to find a different/better provider. Very disappointed.
Description of Work: Williams Comfort Air called me to scheduled a "winterization" of my HVAC system - a package that I paid for over the summer.

The other thing I want to mention is: he spent a lot of time to check the parts, write down what I need to fix, clean, check the prices. I asked him if he was a saleman. He spent much more time on these things than cleaning my furnace.
Description of Work: The service provider checked everything, I mean everything; and spent a lot of time on writing down all possible parts which need to be fixed or cleaned. He only cleaned a small place which the other service provider has done before.

 + -1 moreI purchased a winter furnace tuneup deal from Williams Comfort Air. The service itself was fine and the techs were nice and neat. However, it turned into a time to try and sell me on every possible thing they could think of. They said there were so many things wrong with my unit that I should replace it because it was not worth the repair. They also wanted me to buy these maintenance agreements. Because we have a home warranty package with the our home purchase I called them about the things wrong with furnace. They sent another company out who fixed the couple things wrong with it, which they said were not really a big deal. My furnace is still working well.
