 + -1 moreThe technician came out to do the work for me and told me I had a code violation on my furnace. He told me what I needed to do to bring it up to code. After he left, I saw the pipe that brings the gas was sticking out. I took a picture and called them to tell them what happened. They sent a supervisor out along with the original technician. The supervisor was able to fix the issue.

The price was good, that's why I bought it. They came when they said they were going to come, so that was good.

 + -1 moreWe called them back to install the thermostat. Technician spent 3 hrs trying to figure out where to install the thermostat. We inquired about wireless and was told that is not an option. After a few hours he told us that he needs another technician to assist him but the office would not send him any one to help. He indicated that he would return the following Monday or Tuesday with another technician to install the thermostat. No body showed up and the office never called us about this service to complete it or to follow up. Very strange experience. We then hired a competitor and they installed a wireless thermostat for us and it was one third of the price we were quoted by Comfort Air.
Description of Work: Inspected the furnace and Heat Pump. Charged us $96 for service and provided a quote for installing a thermostat.

Since then we've received a number of emails with tips for keeping our furnace running efficiently in this weather or with reminders to let faucets drip so pipes don't burst. We'd go with Williams Comfort Air again in a heartbeat!

 + -1 moreI ultimately had a salesman come to give me an estimate on replacing my furnace, and I replaced both furnace and A/C which also had problems. They gave me a reasonable price so I decided to go ahead and not wait for an equipment break down. They ran into problems with the installation, found the duct from furnace to crawlspace had collapsed and needed to be replaced. A 6-7 hour job ended up taking 15 hours and at the end four technicians were there. They were good about letting me know what was going on, did a really good job of cleaning up afterward, and so far everything has been working perfectly. Definitely would recommend them and would use them again.
Description of Work: Came to do winter service on furnace, where I found that my humidifier was leaking. So they turned it off. They did the service, noting two problems with my 12 yr old furnace. He gave me an estimate (over $2,000) to make the repairs.

 + -1 moreThe service and install crew at WCA were very professional and did a great, very tidy, job of installing my Geothermal nearly 2.5 years ago. My biggest issue with WCA was with one of their sales guys that, to me, gave false information on how their warranty worked. I've since chatted with other individuals at WCA and am still a bit confused on how to fully guarantee the 15 year warranty (is it serviced twice per year and does it have to be by WCA or can other certified vendors also do the maintenance?) There was also an issue with "drain pans" for the hot water heaters that I had discussed with one of the guys when they came out to do the measurements which were not installed (I was told it would be $200 to install them but they really couldn't because they were behind schedule... so that was disappointing). However, that sales rep is no longer with the company, but is the primary reason I can't give them an "A" for this work. For my install, they did the "Vertizontal" which means they were basically the only company that could do an install in my typical suburban home (on a 1/3 acre lot). They were on time and completed the entire job in about a week. The ground where they did the major amount of digging has now fully settled and is not overly noticeable (it's about a 6'x8') area. I've recommended WCA to a few friends and one of them had WCA install a Geo-Thermal in their house too.

A small glitch on the arrival time on Jan 21 due to what we think must be the horrible road conditions or other major problems they needed to address for customers whose furnaces might be failing in the freezing weather or pipes bursting. Only suggestion is for Williams Comfort Air to call customers when there is a long delay in the technician's arrival.
Description of Work: Provides annual service on maintenance agreement and on Jan 21 serviced the malfunctioning humidifier under the warranty.

 + -1 moreThe owner of the company came out, evaluated everything, did exactly everything he said, and I liked the work that he did, and would have him again. I do all my maintenance myself, and this time my wife said let's have someone else do the maintenance because I am busy at work. I was reading through, and they said that the motor is leaking oil, and that the ampage that the motor was pulling was more than average. I called them back, and I asked them a couple of questions over the phone, and the person on the phone said that if a customer calls with a question, they want to send a person there to answer the questions. They didn't just generate answers over the phone. A couple days later, they scheduled to come out, and they came out at the time that they said they would, and they sent out one of their senior techs that has been in the field for many years. He double checked everything that the first guy checked, and he said he didn't understand where the first guy go the information, but there was a streak of dust where the motor blows air out, and it looked like oil. He wrote out the ampage in the wrong square. He wrote out that the motor was pulling a lot of ampage, where as, it should have been the entire unit was pulling more ampage than it should. It was just a simple mistake. I called them and they sent a senior tech to answer all my questions without a middle man on phone. Being an electrician, I could as questions which 90% of people didn't know. He was very pleasing to work with, very obliging by coming back out, and explaining what they had seen, and where the mistake was in the paper that they had filled out. I would definitely call them back. They treated me proper with the concerns that I had.

I am an electrician, so I was questioning one of the items in the paperwork, because of the ampage that they said my motor was pulling. They said the motor was leaking oil, and there is no oil in an electrical motor.

 + -1 moreThe company was contacted based upon prior Angies' list service awards. Initially, customer service was not able to provide any time frame in which a technician would be available, but after mentioning I awaiting a call back from other companies, a technician was made available within 2 hours. The technician arrived and advised the fan motor for the blower in the 2001 Carrier electric furnance needed to be replaced. He quoted a price of $902.00, traveled to his supplier to obtain the motor, and after returning with the motor installed within 30 minutes. After reviewing prior receipts from a competitor who performed similar services at another house and speaking with someone knowledgeable about what other companies charge for this service, I learned other companies charge 50% less. In the future, I will probably not use this company since a customer can save 50% by using another company.

Comfort Air agreed to instal on Saturday, two days later at my convenience in order to avoid Christmas activities, and instal before the end of 2013 in order to assure I got the Citizens Gas rebait. Installation was completed in four hours, with no noticeable loss of heat. All old equipment was removed, and the area was kept clean and orderly. The service men were well mannered and very polite. A very enjoyable experience.
Description of Work: Installed 80,000 BTU Carrier deluxe furnace.

Description of Work: Pilot light went out on furnace, was told the furnace was clogged and we need a new one. It was going to be sub-zero temperatures, so we decided we needed the new furnace. The salesman told us the techs would rebuild the wall and when they were finished, the wall was left open.

After checking out the furnace it was determined that the part needed to fix the furnace wasn't worth spending money on given the overall condition of my furnace. Brian worked with me and with the person responsible for quoting installations to get an installation set up for the following morning. He was very helpful and courteous. I let Brian know how much I appreciated someone being able to come to my home the same day, the service provider I had normally worked with was unable to help me because they "couldn't plan for the weather conditions". Brian let me know that the management at Williams Comfort Air had been monitoring the weather and several days earlier had asked all of the service specialists if they were able to work over the weekend, to please volunteer. Brian volunteered. I appreciate a company, that is in the service industry, that does what they can to make sure they are able to adequately service the customers they already have and new ones like myself. I am now a Williams Comfort Air customer!

Description of Work: The furnace service and inspection determined our furnace was not working properly and had not been doing so for some time. We needed a new furnace. Williams Comfort Air discussed the problems with us and we elected to have a new and working furnace installed. The installers worked Christmas Eve to get the new furnace/heat pump installed and providing heat. They came across several challenges during the installation caused by the previous furnace installers.
