We had three different companies come in, gave us a quote and talked to us about installing the system. We took them because of the quality of the products, the customer service, the knowledge of the salesman and the price. They were great. They had two crews who came in and did it. When they were done, they explained how everything works and we had free tune up of the following year. It’s been great.

He was awesome! We are in a rental home right now so those units haven't been serviced for over 2 years and were filthy. I felt bad for him because we have 3 dogs and so I am nervous about letting my dogs out...he was just so patient with my pets and the horrible condition of the units. He explained how they are about to give out and explained since it's a rental home that he did the best he could. Everything was so cost effective, I couldn't believe what high level service we received. He also helped me put in filters. Even if they don't give out the coupons for our next house, I would definitely use them again.

The technician visited and looked at our unit and basically told us we either needed a $2300 REPAIR or the unit needed to be completely replaced. We balked and they sent a salesman out to speak with us and he really laid it on thick that we would have no heat before the winter was out and then it would be an emergency, big $$$$, long wait, etc. We made it very clear that we wanted to get another opinion and that the unit seemed to be working fine. We had another company come out who spent about 2 hours giving the unit a thorough cleaning (for about $250) that included dismantling it down to the core. It was frankly pretty dirty because we were not changing the filters often enough but it just needed cleaning. When he put it back together and we change the filter every thirty days, it is working perfectly to this day. Needless to say we will not be a return customer.
Description of Work: We purchased a service "special" off of here (Angies List) for a "tuneup" of our central unit.

Overall, it was pretty decent. I didn't really have any issues with them. The total charge was around $95. I would recommend them to others. They were reliable.

Frustrating doesn't begin to explain my experience with Williams Comfort Air! While they did arrive right away to look at our frozen system, the form they had us sign to move on with thawing&refilling the unit didn't break down the price point down (that's sketchy on its own). Upon receiving the invoice, we were APPALLED to see a $300 charge for thawing the unit aka basically watching ice melt. So I called the company with the same issue and they informed me to turn the unit off and it would thaw on it's own...funny, because we were (unethically!) charged $300 to do something they and all other companies we consulted for further service said we could do on our own. ABSURD. To help make sense of this, I called the service manager who then had me speak with another manager in the system. I had to call the manager multiple times to see the status of our situation. They finally offered to refund half the money, but that doesn't even come close to amending the frustration and poor business practice that was used on new homeowners. Also worth mentioning, is that Williams Comfort was trying to push a new system on us when we just needed the leak repaired (and their quote to repair was outrageously high compared to our other quotes). Funny too the salesperson was going to throw-in a discount of $780 which was what our bill was for the tech's visit. I was not impressed with how the salesperson kept trying to pitch us a sale and pressuring us with adding on perks if we signed that day. I'm happy to have my refund check, but the full refund would have left me with a bit higher regard towards this company. It's a shame these things happen and I hope we're the exception not the rule to how their company operates, so members beware!

Because of the salesman I used I would never purchase from them again. He was condesending and I felt less than informed. He sold me without giving me full information about the product. When I called him directly after the installation because I was unhappy, Tere was no help from him and no consideration. I was unhappy due to the product I received. He replaced a very high quality air conditioning system with an entry level system that is very noisy.

You draw your own conclusions; We have a 19 year old system. This was the first time we've needed service. The 1st thing I will say is that we have not had the system checked on a yearly basis, which is something I will have done now, but not by Williams Comfort Air. A very personable service technician arrived, on time, to look at our system and perform any necessary repairs. He could not check the interior coils as they were enclosed. After checking the exterior unit the tech came in and explained our service options. I don't know what tests were done, nor was any explanation offered [in retrospect I should have asked]. I made the mistake, in my opinion, of saying at that point that we were considering selling our house soon, that really all we wanted was to get the unit working, and that's where the direction of the advice from the tech started to change. It was not a hard sell, but it was persistent, which was that we should consider replacing the system. The tech gave us a list of further service options for our A/C unit with prices, the cheapest of which was a leak test [which was still quite expensive], then working through cleaning everything and refrigerant charge, etc. Before he left he had us talking with a sales rep to arrange a visit/estimate for a new system. When the tech left, we had a list of prices, a meeting with a sales rep, but no working A/C. After talking everything over with my wife, we cancelled the sales visit and decided to get a second opinion. Given the potential costs involved, we felt this to be a prudent move. The company we called was recommended to us by our power provider. When the tech arrived, he told us he couldn't check the interior condenser coils because they were enclosed [same conclusions as Williams]. He then went outside to check the unit. After examining it, he called me out to show me everything; there was a wire that was disconnected and a connection that was loose. There was a wire that had dark marks around the connector indicating heat stress. He also mentioned that he had tested the capacitor , which was below the recommended rating and consequently the compressor was not working [he mentioned that the compressor might work intermittently]. The Williams tech said nothing of this, although when I later looked at the sheet he [the Williams tech] gave us, he had written that his capacitor test showed it to be low. Anyway, our 2nd tech had me watch as he replaced all the electrical connections and put in the correct capacitor. He then started the unit, and the compressor worked ! He then let the unit run and checked the system pressure, which came in at spec, at which point he said there probably wasn't any system leak. He then went inside, checked the air flow out of the vents in the house and measured the temperature differential between air in and out of the unit in the basement to make sure it met spec, which it did. He also noted that the exterior unit was in good condition and didn't need cleaning. Bottom line; a $129 service call, a fully functional unit and a cool house. You make the call. I detail these 2 visits for comparison. Williams did nothing wrong, they just did what I'm sure most other companies do. The point I'm getting at here is that one visit wasn't really a service call, it was more of an evaluation visit. No work was really done, we were was just left with a series of options and a sales call. Yes, all the information the second tech found may have been documented on the service sheet from the Williams tech [except the disconnected wire, loose connection, the fact that the compressor may or may not work], but I shouldn't have to depend on me asking the right questions to get all this; as a paying customer it should be freely offered. The 2nd tech visit was a service call. He looked at the unit, fixed it, made recommendations then left. It's all about trust.
Description of Work: The provider was called to analyze / repair our air conditioning system which was no longer cooling. The exterior unit was checked for performance, the interior portion of the unit could not be checked because it was enclosed.

I came home from work and my house was warm. I called Williams 24 hour service at 8:15 pm and had a call back within 10 minutes and was told I was 6th on list tonight. Someone was at my house within an hour. He was professional, knowledgeable and repaired our AC in an hour. Great service!

There was some confusion over the appointment date, but once that was figured out, the appointment was fine. The temperature was a little cooler than normal so they weren't able to do some checks that they normally do. They went over with us what they did do and what they recommended as a result of the service check.

It was terrible. I had an appointment immediately afterwards from 8-10. The technician did not show-up or call. I called and someone told me that they would be here between 10-12. They showed up 4 1/2 hours after appointment. I had a $25 coupon that clearly said it could be combined with a service, but they told me I couldn't use it. I felt like that was false advertisement. The technician did a good job but everything else was terrible.

The service wasn’t bad but they weren’t good. When I called they put me on a three month waiting list and when the time came they ended up cancelling because they were so backed up. They finally came out a week after I had called and hounded them. I told the technician about my dis-satisfaction and he told me that he would let the manager know to contact me, which never happened. I ended up not renewing with their tune up service plan.

Williams Comfort Air took out the old air conditioner which had died and installed a new one. The guy who installed the AC did not install the condensation drain properly. So the condensation ended up in my attic instead of outside. Several gallons of water leaked through half of the ceiling and the room got wet and we spent several days drying it. The AC had been installed roughly 48 hours when I realized there was a major problem and exactly where it was leaking from. Williams Comfort Air sent someone out that evening and confirmed that it had not been installed properly and fixed the AC. But they transferred me to Amerestore to fix the damage that had been done to my home from the leaking. Amerestore sent people out with fans to dry the rooms and others areas, and removed the installation that had been wet because of the bad installation. At first Amerestore was very good, but after they got it reasonably dried out, they sent someone from Professional Carpet Systems to look at the damage in that area of flooring. The damage to the ceiling was more than Amerestore had originally thought. The whole room needed to be repainted. They were supposed to come out today to work on fixing the damage and nobody showed up. Amerestore said that Williams Comfort Air would have to cut a check, so I called Williams Comfort Air and they said Amerestore was going to cut me a check. I did not want a check, I wanted my floor and ceiling repaired and at this point it seems like both companies are blaming the other. For now I cannot get into my book cases to get to my books and all my stuff is pushed up against walls. I need something to happen.

They did a terrible job. They refused to do the work as they said they saw a needed repair. They eventually issued a refund in the form of a check. When I contacted my home warranty company, the company they sent out indicated there was no problem with the AC unit.

This is the second time William's Air came to my home to maintain my furnace and air conditioning unit. I couldn't be happier with their service people and the work they do. At the first visit, the technician noticed that my furnace was losing heat due to an improper installation. He explained it all to me and then fixed it. Had he not been on top of it, I would still be losing heat into the basement. He was knowledgeable and took the time to do a proper job. He also had a sense of humor which I appreciated. The second visit was to tune up my air conditioning unit and he showed me how dirty it was from a roofing job. Those men had failed to cover the unit before throwing shingles off my roof. I watched as he cleaned it even getting stung from one of the bees that had begun to make a next in my unit. William's Air makes sure to equip its technicians with the proper equipment and in no time both the bees and the hive were gone. I have one more visit before my contract is up, but I will certainly be renewing it. I couldn't ask for better service. Luckily, too, neither technician was deterred by my dogs who gave them both a rousing welcome.
