It went well. Jason Braun is a member of the Thiele family and he stressed the history of the company (since 1883!) which was very interesting. He examined the old unit, and we discussed things I had found out about air conditioning in the 21st century. He gave me the price for the Bryant model with a 16 SEER rating. The warranty on parts and labor which he offered was excellent. Ultimately I went with another company, but I wanted to say that my encounter with Jason was a good experience. I will call on them for a bid when the next thing in their portfolio needs attention in my house.

They serviced my air conditioner every year, and they always do a very thorough and excellent job. They had a service person named Mike Jefferson come out, and he was very component and did a very nice job. Now the air conditioner is working fine, and I will continue to have them service my air conditioner and furnace.

Inspection was prompt and the problem was quickly identified. The issue was corrected right then and we went ahead and had a full routine maintenance during the same visit. The whole visit took less than an hour and the technician was knowledgeable and had helpful tips on preventing future similar issues.

My daughter was living there at the time so I'm guessing a little bit, but she didn't seem to have any problem. They seem to come when they said they were going to and were on time. I think the fellow that worked with me on the estimate in identifying everything that we need, because we actually ended up doing several things. We replaced the air conditioner with a heat pump and we ended up doing a hot water heater at the same time, so it turned out to be heating, air and water heater. He was very easy to work with.

I called Thiele early 7:00am on the morning of January 7, 2017 because I was not getting any heat in my house. After getting no reply I called back around 10:00 am and finally got a call back and a tech sent out around noon. After assessing the furnace I was told that the heat strips were broken and that they needed to be replaced. The tech called the office and was told that they would have to get the part from the warehouse and it would need to be opened and would cost me $100. Told them to go ahead. Once everything was working the tech collected $100 from me and told me the parts were under warranty. I asked if there was any other charge and he said no. A week and a half later I got a bill for $677.00. Called and was told that the parts were not under warranty and this was the charge. I was billed $119.00 for the diagnostic evaluation and $558 for the repair. I asked what the parts cost and what the hourly rate was but was told that he couldn't figure it out because they have a computer program that tells them the flat rate for this service. The tech probably didn't even spend more than 1-1/2 hours making the repair. As I continued to try to understand the high cost I was told that if I had waited until Monday then the evaluation cost would have been less. I was charged more for the weekend! They didn't even apply the evaluation to the cost of the repair! I was told that this was very typical for the industry. On a cold day in January I didn't have any choice but to have the repairs done but was never told anything about the cost except the $100 to open the warehouse. Such a poor way to do business!!!

"This 2006 furnace was clearly out of warranty (as I discussed with Ms. [Member Name Removed]). The $100 to open the supply house is our direct cost (there is no markup). When she said to "go ahead and open it up" that is what I did. I, John Traub (the owner) in order to expedite the repair went and picked up the part myself and delivered it to her house. I remember the day vividly...I was at my house when the technician called me in need of getting the supply house opened. Since I and my wife have known Ms. [Member Name Removed] for about 35 years I personally handled the situation. We do have coupon that will waive the diagnostic fee but (and it states this on the coupon) that coupon is for normal business hours. So yes there was a diagnostic fee charged. I am hurt and disappointed by the review. I suppose "sometimes you just can't please some people"."

There was approximately a 45 day wait to get on the schedule, which is what prompted my "C" rating for responsiveness. The technician was polite and professional and timely. The office called when he was on his way. I missed the call and when I noticed the missed call, (they did not call my cell phone as a back-up) so I called back and had to be worked into the schedule again (same day, thank goodness).
