There was approximately a 45 day wait to get on the schedule, which is what prompted my "C" rating for responsiveness. The technician was polite and professional and timely. The office called when he was on his way. I missed the call and when I noticed the missed call, (they did not call my cell phone as a back-up) so I called back and had to be worked into the schedule again (same day, thank goodness).

They were really great! They were really professional and I really like working with them. When we set it up, they were on time and completed the job on time! They also gave me a really great price for an HVAC system! They will be coming back to provide check-ups on it in the future because they gave me a long warranty.

They were pretty good. They were fine. They came and they found the problem and fixed it. The charge was whatever they charge for service calls. It hasn't broken again. The second time I called them, there was a real problem with that. The guy couldn't reach me on my phone. I called them recently because something was wrong and he kept calling me saying, "I can't reach you." I called their office and told them to have him call me again. He left a message on my phone but he never heard me. I called my husband and said, "Call me," to see if my phone was working alright and it was. So I don't know what the problem was, but finally I just said, "Well, have him come out anyway," and I watched for him all day until it got dark and he never came. But the next day my husband found a note on the door saying he had come in and we didn't answer the door, which is kind of rare for us. Maybe he came after dark, but I couldn't see him anyway and didn't hear him. I did get a bill for that and I think it was their service call bill, which I paid because I did ask them to come out. I have a doorbell and I never heard that either. So I thought maybe I need to talk to somebody who can reach me by phone and that's when I called the One Hour people. They called me back and obviously they could reach me by phone. I have no idea what was wrong.

Amazing customer service from my initial call. I called on Saturday late morning and they had a tech out within an hour to assess the problem. Sunday they confirmed my need and had the unit installed first thing on Monday morning. Working with Thiele was enjoyable they went the extra mile at every step. I would hire them again and not think about calling anyone else for a second estimate. The customer service sold me and my cousin who lives in my rental has warmth.

Tech arrived right on time and performed the most comprehensive cleaning and inspection I have ever observed in my 20 + years as a homeowner. Also appreciated there was no attempt to sell a service contract, or push for the purchase of a newer system, even though our current one is quite old. Professional, thorough and informative. It doesn't get any better!

I picked this company because of the great reviews on Angie's List. Jason, the service manager, came out and listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. Over the course of a week, he answered even more questions and was quick to respond. Chris and Mark were the installers, they arrived on time and Jason came with them. It made me feel very comfortable with the installers and the installation. They were pleasant to have here and they showed me everything that they were doing. They were respectful of my home and cleaned everything up. They showed me how to use the new furnace and thermostat and I was very pleased with this company and service.

I would not recommend Thiele Heating & Air Conditioning or whatever their called. They were here November 4th 2015. The estimate was going to be huge. I had to have one piece on my heater to be replaced, and they were going to have to take out the whole motor and maybe even part of the furnace because they don't do components, they only do the whole thing.

On Friday 11 Dec, I noticed that something was amiss with my furnace. It was not bringing the house up to the thermostat setting and the blower did not turn on. I called Thiele and their tech Pat Elliot arrived by late afternoon. (This was a good response for an emergency run.) He determined that the furnace blower would have to be replaced but the supplier's warehouse had just closed for the day. Pat called early Saturday morning with happy news that the warehouse was briefly open. He was able to get the correct unit, install it, and have the furnace working again with a couple of hours. I was overjoyed to have heat again! Pat went above and beyond to spare me a chilly weekend. His dedication, skill, and exceptional friendliness deserve a nomination for the Page of Happiness.

It was bad?real, real bad. Last week they came out to install my new system; I had a problem with them not being professional as they were trying to rush in and out of the job. When they were in the course of installing the furnace, they were trying to put it onto the floor in my basement; I refused and told them that it was supposed to have at least a four-inch bumper pad because it couldn?t be on the floor since it is in the basement and there is poor air flow and that could cause it to rust very quickly. I don?t want my furnace to rust and they tried to acquiesce with a one-inch bumper, but I told them that wasn?t enough. Chris, the installer, was very rude because he didn?t want to listen to me based on what I told him, and so I also called the Vice President (who was my primary contact at the time and also the person who told me I needed a new system in the first place). The VP (Boone Coy) was kind of reluctant to take the furnace down and then bump it up because it could take another twenty minutes or half an hour, and it wasn?t on the work order that it was supposed to be on a bumper. I wondered if they didn?t think I would catch it even though I did. They were unprofessional, trying to tell me that it wasn?t the way to do it, though I know it was. They finally did what I wanted them to do, but the real problem is that after they installed it, they didn?t charge the system, and so when I turned it on that night to try to run it, they didn?t have any coolant or Freon in the system so it wouldn?t work. Last weekend it was very cold, and because the heating system wasn?t working, we went through Friday night without any heat despite having a brand new system installed that same day. I called them back and the VP, sent a tech out to take a look at it and he explained that it hadn?t been charged and he had to install three pounds of Puron (refrigerant) after it was installed. I had a second company come out and check it out and paid them to inspect the job that the first company did because it was such a bad job. I happened to call the owner of Thiele, John Traub, and he did not apologize to me; he was trying to find some kind of complicated explanation for why it wouldn?t work and I told him, ?no, they didn?t install it with Puron (refrigerant?Puron R410A) and they didn?t charge it before they left?it?s a new system, and those complicated reasons aren?t the issue?. This company prides themselves on good installation and good customer service, but I told him it was unprofessional and stealing, and he took offense to that?I explained that I am the victim here and that if he is that upset about it that he should be apologizing to me because he is stealing by not installing the product properly. I explained that they said what they would do and they didn?t do it and that is offensive that he is upset by it when he is being unprofessional by not keeping up with the professionalism they pride themselves on; they installed a brand new system that I paid for that day and we had to go through the night without heat. He did not apologize to me. In this case, no professionalism like they pride themselves on was shown. I asked him how he felt he could take offense to what I said when I was shorted three pounds of Puron/refrigerant when my new system was installed, and had to pay another company out of pocket to check the system because they did not install it with the Puron or charge it before leaving the job. I was so upset because I wrote them a check; I didn?t use any financing or anything and yet they didn?t bother to install my system with the Puron/refrigerant. The second company that came by said that three pounds of Puron would be like gross negligence because with a brand new system, they should have put more in for proper efficiency.
Description of Work: I got a brand new heating and cooling system and furnace and heat pump installed.

We had installed his furnace on vibration isolation pads from the beginning (not all companies do this as we see thousands of installs) we always do this as standard procedure. There also was an 18" bump up box installed. At the end of his install he wanted it higher approximately 1" 1-1/2 " higher, this is completely unnecessary but we uninstalled the furnace and reinstalled it per his request. It is true that we sent a technician out on Saturday and he was low on R410A. We would have come out on Friday night but we didn't get a call from him until Saturday which of course we quickly took action and corrected. I (John Traub) talked to him on the following Tuesday and in my 25 years of dealing with and talking to people I have not been yelled at and screamed at like this before. We fixed it immediately and I was just trying to offer to send out our service manager to triple check the installation. So he paid another company to look at it and they signed off on "everything being all right".

Thiele charged $270.00 labor for the hour it took to swap out a blower motor on a HVAC unit they installed in 2011. Their charge for an hour?s work was in addition to the $89.95 diagnostic fee from the day before. Luckily I had already paid an annual fee of $155.00 to become a preferred customer so I was only charged $229.50 and $76.46 respectively. Noticed the A/C fan had quit working one evening and called the next morning to have it checked. Even though we were in the middle of a heat spell the front office staff was courteous and the response great. They sent the tech out that afternoon. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad blower motor. He explained Thiele did not stock blower motors and they would have to order a new one. Although he said there would be no parts costs since the motor was covered under warranty, the temp in the house was almost 90 deg and waiting for another day or so was not good news. The news got even worse when the issue of no available blower motor was followed by his paperwork showing the labor charges. A request to the tech asking for a call to let me know how long it was going to take to get a replacement motor was followed by a call to the office with the same request. The next morning a little after 9am, with the temp inside the house still around 90, a second call was made to the office with the same request. Within thirty minutes of this second call Thiele called to let me know a motor had been found and would be installed shortly. Within a couple of hours the tech installed the new blower motor and the AC was back on line. Certain that there had been an error in the $76 diagnostic fee plus another $230 for the one hour it took to swap out the blower motor for a preferred customer; a call was placed to John Traub, the owner. With no apology, hesitation or concern, he explained he felt the charges were "more than reasonable". Even though the paperwork given to me by their technician showed the blower motor was covered under the manufacturer?s five year warranty, Mr. Traub said the motor should not have been covered so I "made out like a bandit". Mr. Traub assured me the technician was well trained and thus the charges were justifiable. It could have been pointed out that $270/hr. is higher than the hourly rate charged by government contractors for degreed engineers and scientists, by many degreed business attorneys, most CPAs, etc., but by this time I was convinced he had no concern for customers or customer service. Even if this is a flat fee charge, Thiele has been in business long enough to know how long it will normally take to swap out a blower motor and calculate a reasonable charge. Had the motor not been under warranty and I had not been a preferred customer, it appears that diagnosing and replacing the blower motor could have easily cost close to $500 and Mr. Traub, owner of Thiele, would defend it.
Description of Work: Confirmed blower motor was not working and replaced it,.

I am sorry Mr. felt the price was in error. I am however confident in the pricing structure of his repair. I know (from market research) that he was charged not only a fair price but a price much less than he would have found elsewhere (which of course he was free to do). We always quote a price upfront before a repair takes place and he most certainly approved the repair. As far as not stocking the blower motor (part that was bad) it is true as no one in our industry can stock this motor because it needs to be programmed for the specific model by the distributor. Mr. is not the original owner of the equipment and therefore "no warranty" is correct although because of our stellar reputation with the manufacturer we were able to help him by replacing the part under warranty while he only had to pay the labor. I (John Traub, owner) feel he received the utmost in customer care and I will always go the extra mile for our customers as we all did in this case here at team Thiele.

Dee and Daniel where here right on time. That worked for 12 hours until the job was done. There were a couple of problems but they took solve the problem correctly. The price was spot on and the work was excellent. When finished, they walked us though all the systems and how to use them. They completely cleaned up and took all the trash with them. Know one is excited about buying a new furnace and air conditioner. They made it as pleasant and easy as possible. I would readily recommend Thiele to anyone. Maintenance will be done by them. I am extremely surprised and disappointed about this latest instance. My AC unit went out mid-day on June 11th. (I didn't know it went out actually, because it was so hot, I just figured the unit couldn't keep up with the temperature outside.) Around 8p, I called Thiele and got their message/relay center. I explained my issue and was told someone would contact me soon with when they would be out for emergency service. At 10:20p, I called back as I had not heard anything (and my house was at 86 degrees). The operator assured me that someone would be in contact and the message would be sent to them again. I called again at 11:30p, same old story. After being awake most of the night, sweating, and awake as to not miss a call, I called again at 6:30a and was told to call back around 8a when the office opens and they would be able to schedule me. When I called a few minutes after 8a, I was told I could be scheduled for Monday. After explaining everything I went through, the customer service representative said she could fit me in for later today. I wasted 12 hours waiting on a return call for emergency service from the company that installed my 4 year old unit, (also replaced a part less than 3 months ago when my heat wasn't working properly) when I could have been contacting other companies to get this service scheduled for this morning. After 13 phone calls to subsequent companies, one agreed to come out today to fit me in. So it stands now, I need to take off a day at work, lose a vacation day, and sit in a sweat box because this company dropped the ball (I'm the ball in this case). I had suggested Thiele to all of my friends after the initial install, but lately, their customer service and lack of communication has gone down hill. Very disappointed.

Thank you for your review. We have been working around the clock for the past eight days and your evaluation uncovered a flaw in our system. The service that we use was supposed to let any callers know that we are booked up through (the times and dates change this time of year) so that our valued customers know when we will be calling back to schedule. When we experience the first true hot spell we as a team know that the hours will be long and that is to be expected. When our customer service representative talked to you the following morning she stated that we could get to you the same day and as it was explained to me you yelled at her for several minutes and chose to go elsewhere. I do apologize about the miscommunication with the answering service and I will address that today. If you would like to voice your concern to me I am happy to take your call.
