THEY INSPECTED OUR DUCTS AND SAID THEY DID NOT NEED TO BE CLEANED AT THIS TIME. HE ASKED US WHY WE WANTED TO HAVE THE DUCTS CLEANED. WE EXPLAINED THAT WE THOUGHT WE HAD TO HAVE THE DUCTS CLEANED BEFORE DOING SOME ADDITIONAL WORK. WE WERE PLANNING TO HAVE AN ELECTRONIC FILTER AND HUMIDIFIER INSTALLED ANYWAY. HE RECOMMENDED HAVING THE FILTER AND HUMIDIFIER INSTALLED AND SAID IT WAS NOT NECESSARY TO CLEAN THE DUCTS SO HE SAVED US MONEY! WE APPRECIATED THAT THEY ASKED QUESTIONS TO FIND OUT WHY WE WANTED DUCT CLEANING DONE INSTEAD OF JUST DOING IT.

THE IGNITER WAS SOON REPLACED AND WE TALKED ABOUT THE ISSUE AND AIR FLOW IN MY HOME. HE WAS FINISHED WITHIN 20 MINUTES.

AIRTRON INSTALLED THE HVAC EQUIPMENT IN 1996. INDUCTION MOTOR, A COMMON PART IN HIGH EFFICIENCY GAS FURNACES WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. IT WAS NOT DEAD AND COULD BE STARTED BY GENTLY TAPPING THE UNIT. WE CALL AIRTRON, WHO ARRIVED PROMPTLY ON FRIDAY, 3/12/04 AND ORDERED THE PART AND WERE TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO HEAT UNTIL MONDAY, 3/15/04 (3 DAYS) AND WEATHER WAS COLD OUTSIDE. THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART ON THE TRUCK WHICH WAS OK, BUT SAID THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE LOCALLY AND WOULD BE ORDERED. I WAS SURPRISED SINCE WE ARE CARING FOR A 83 YR OLD MAN THAT THE PART WAS NOT SHIPPED BY OVERNIGHT DELIVERY, BUT THE 2 SERVICE MEN SAID IT WOULD ARRIVE ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY. THE PART AND INSTALLATION COSTING $449.60 WHICH WAS DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND SINCE WE HAD ANOTHER EXPERIENCE REPLACING A INDUCTION MOTOR ON A WHIRPOOL GAS FURNACE. THE BLOWER PRICE WAS $125 PLUS THE SERVICE CALL. I WAS PUZZLED BY THEIR EXPLANATION ABOUT A GASKET BEHIND THE MOTOR WHICH I DID NOT SEE.

I WILL NOT GO WITH AIRTRON AGAIN. I SIGNED THAT AGREEMENT FOR THE SUMMER, BUT THAT'S IT.

I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE PERSON AFTER THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE THAT THE UNIT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY, ALTHOUGH THE HUMIDITY WAS RUNNING 20% HIGHER THAN THE THERMOSTAT SETTING. THE UNIT FAILED TO WORK COMPLETELY WITHIN TWO WEEKS. I CALLED TO HAVE SERVICE DURING A WEEKEND AND THE OFFICE PERSON TOLD ME TO TURN OFF THE WATER SUPPLY TO MY HUMIDIFIER (WHICH I DO NOT HAVE) AND LATER HUNG UP ON ME WHEN I BECAME FRUSTRATED AFTER SHE THEN TOLD ME TO OPEN UP THE WINDOWS AND TURN THE UNIT OFF DURING A DAY WHEN THE TEMPERATURE WAS RUNNING 18F. HAVING THE WATER FREEZE IN AN INDOOR POOL IS NOT A GOOD IDEA. THEY CAME TO SERVICE THE UNIT ON MONDAY, BUT ALL THEY APPARENTLY DID WAS TO TURN ON A CIRCUIT BREAKER BUT DID NO TROUBLESHOOTING OR REPAIR. THE UNIT FAILED COMPLETELY WITHIN THREE HOURS AFTER THEY LEFT. I THAN CALLED ANOTHER COMPANY WHO CAME OUT WITHIN TWO DAYS. THEY FIXED A LOSE FAN BELT AND RECHARGED THE UNIT WHICH WAS LOW ON FREON FOR $129. THE UNIT HAS WORKED PERFECTLY SINCE.
Description of Work: AIRTRON PERFORMED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON A DEHUMIDIFIER FOR AN INDOOR POOL UNDER A CONTRACT AND LATER CAME BACK WHEN THE UNIT FAILED. BOTH THESE VISITS WERE UNSATISFACTORY.

THEY LEFT A/C PARTS LAYING AROUND. I HAD TO ASK THEM ABOUT THE ADDITIONAL PARTS. THEY DID NOT CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES . THEY CUT ADDITIONAL HOLES IN THE GARAGE AND LAUNDRY ROOM FOR THE PIPES WHEN THERE WERE ALREADY HOLES THERE. THE HOLES THEY CUT WERE TOO BIG. AS A RESULT OF THIS THE GARAGE ROOF LEAKS LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER. THEY ALSO CUT AN EXTRA HOLE IN THE CEILING. I CALLED THEM TO COME BACK OUT AND PATCH THE ROOF - THEY WOULD ONLY COME OUT IF THEY COULD USE MY LADDER. THEY WERE VERY RUDE TO ME. ONE PIPING THEY DID NOT REPLACE AND HAD TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER WITH SILLY PUTTY. THEY SCREWED A USER MANUAL TO THE FURNACE. ECT
