I have a service contract with them. I would recommend them for any service, whether it be a heat pump or air handler. They are really good. I've been with them for two houses worth. The quality of their work and their technicians are very easy to understand. They explained what they are going to do and how they are going to do it. They always come out quickly and they are on time. They are absolutely professional.

Airtron Heating & Air Conditioning did a perfectly fine job. They came out within a couple of hours. I just felt the pricing was too high. They were willing to quote a price ahead of time whereas the other companies would not give me a quote.

The man who came out to give the estimate explained all the options very clearly. He explained what kind of furnaces would get what kind of tax credits. He was pretty thorough. The crew came out and carried out the installation very quickly. We had a very positive experience with them. Everything was well done.

The tech inspected our 7-1/2 year old furnace and stated there were cracks found behind blower wheel. He explained that the cracks cause the release of Carbon Monoxide. The repair would be $1100. He further stated that if blower went out, it would be an additional $600.or he could get us a new 80% energy efficient furnace for approx. $2000. I called Williams Comfort for a second opinion since the furnace is less than 8 years old and they came out in less than 3 hours after I called. They checked our furnace for cracks in heat exchanger, pulled blower to check heat exchanger, found NO CRACKS. which they put it in writing. When I called Airtron back, they offered to come out with a video camera to check for cracks.....why dont they perform that service automatically anytime a furnace replacement is recommended for cracks before setting up an appointment with the sales team. Had they done that, I might not have felt like they acted in an unethical manner. We will not use Airtron again.
Description of Work: We have used Airtron for several years, both at our old house and at the home we purchased 13 months ago. We have our air conditioning and heating systems checked twice a year. The tech came out to perform a standard furnace cleaning as part as their ESP plan

I decided that I needed an upgrade of my air conditioning, and after talking to the salesman, I decided that a heat pump was the way to go. The installation crew arrived when they said they would, and did an excellent job on the installation and clean up. So far, the unit is performing as it is supposed to, but I won't have the final verdict until air conditioning season starts.

I needed an emergency furnace repair the day after Christmas and called several companies. Only 2 even responded by telephone. Most did not call me back at all. This company did not return my call. I was simply told that the parts department was closed and no contact could be made with a technician and that I must wait for a business day. I went elsewhere and got the job done in two hours.

The technician was very nice and professional, he was on time and I was very happy with his work overall. The issue is the price charged by the company. A typical humidistat cost ranges from $50-120 and airtron charged $346 which I think is absolutely overpriced.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING THIS COMPANY!!!! UPDATE - We just found out that we had a slow leak underneath the HVAC unit upstairs that Airtron had installed. Unfortunately, the drip pan was not installed underneath the HVAC unit as it should have been. So, we had no idea that the unit was leaking because the water was going behind the drip pan and down the back of the unit. The water dripped into our garage ceiling. It ruined the ceiling in our garage, and caused major water damage. We were very fortunate that the ceiling didn't cave in, onto our car. Again, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING THIS COMPANY.
Description of Work: We had two new HVAC units put in by Airtron - one has been nothing but problems, with many different reasons for why it doesn't work, lots of expensive repairs, and even though the unit was under "warranty", this only covers parts, and the service has cost a fortune. We thought about buying a service agreement with Airtron, and unfortunately, we did. So, we are stuck using them for one more year for maintenance, and then we definitely will move on to a new company. They did want us to buy a very expensive contract, which seemed like a scam, and instead we went with a regular maintenance agreement. Also, I had given their phone number to my mother, who is 71 years old and lives alone. The serviceman came out and told her that she has a leak in her furnace, and she could end up being poisoned with CO2 if she doesn't replace it immediately. He got her quotes for brand new units. She called another company, who had two servicemen come out, and then they called their boss to come and look, too. All of them looked, with a camera and mirror, and found no cracks whatsoever. They even showed my mom how the flame burned perfectly straight, and how, if there was a crack, it would pull to the side.

It all started with my A/C unit quiting during one of the hottest periods of the summer of 2010. I had three groups come out to the house to quote the work to repair and replace (all Angie List members). Since the current unit was over 20 years old each provider suggested that I replace it versus repair it. Severval of the providers suggested that I replace my furnace at the same time since it was also aging, but the Airtron salesmen took a look at the furnace and thought I might be able to get 3 - 5 yrs out of it and advice me to not replace the furnance. This saved me about $6,000 and I appreciated his honesty. I might have replaced both if he thought it was necessary, but rather than selling me something that I do not need at the moment he advised me to save the cash and replace the furnace in 3 to 5 years. So after I made the decision to use Airtron I was heading out for vacation with my family, they came out while I was gone and installed the new unit with no problems. When we returned from vacation we had a nice cool house and we were all very appreciative of Airtrons hard work. I will use them to replace my furnance in 3 to 5 years.

The entire experience did not go well, as the week was extremely hot. On two separate days during the week, we had separate Airtron techs out to try and get the A/C going. They had maintained our system for years under their maintenance contract. Pleasant enough interactions with the techs but during our last A/C outage we found how poorly our system had been fixed and maintained. After two tech appointments, we still had no A/C and had to call another company that knows how to troubleshoot issues. The first Airtron tech said the system needed more freon and that a pan part had fallen down making an issue for the airflow around the coil. The second tech said that the first tech had put in too much freon. So, the second tech took out freon. He left and said that should do it. We still had no A/C. Our house got to 80 degrees and very humid. When we called the next company(locally owned), the tech was very knowledgeable and explained the problem. He showed me the work that the previous company(Airtron) had performed when they replaced the coil 3 years ago. Incidentally, when we had no A/C 3 years back, Airtron did change the coil and charged us $842. We did get cooling back but found that the upstairs did not cool anywhere near what it had been before the new coil. The Airtron tech told us that our system was so old that we should expect it to drop like that. At that time, the system was only 9 years old. When the other company's tech opened the coil door, I could see the Airtron work. I found Airtron had very poorly fabricated an air block that the previous Airtron tech reported had fallen. Easy to see why it had fallen. The block was so bad that airflow went right through it rather than the coil area. The house was filling up with unconditioned air. Also, the coil pan was poorly fabricated. We also had a bad TXV valve(which was incorrectly placed when the new coil was installed). Also, the coil Airtron installed turned out to be the wrong size. We now knew the reasons for the upstairs not cooling well over the past three years. If you look at the Angie's List reports, you find that Airtron is fairly well rated on regular maintenance. These are visits that most homeowners are likely less concerned about. Homeowners feel that regular maintenance is a good thing. As long as the tech is friendly, clean, and seems to talk about good pressures, everything goes well and a good report may be submitted. Not much on Angie's about Airtron actually troubleshooting recent real problems. I would not use Airtron again simply because they were not able to solve my problem, and I am not talking about just one tech not being able to solve it. Their repairs in my home were poorly done and probably ended up costing me more money due to issues with freeze ups. We actually had two other companies here after Airtron could not solve the problem. Both companies independently came to the similar conclusions on the problems and one took pictures of the Airtron work to show others. Other Angie's List members may have different experiences with Airtron. I would urge everyone to submit reports based on their experiences with companies coming into their home to perform repairs.
Description of Work: We had a maintenance agreement with Airtron where they came out twice a year for maintenance. We had no A/C and we called Airtron. They charged us $75 for the first visit of the week, on Wednesday. When what the tech did gave us no A/C, we called again on Friday. The second tech came out.

AirTron is fine. They gave us good information about the pros and cons of various makers and we did decided to go with Trane based on their information. However, I felt like the salesperson was subtly disparaging his competitors work. In fact, one of the reasons we chose our current company again is because they included a pipe to draw in fresh air from the outside on our new furnace at no cost because we mentioned that AirTron said we needed it.
Description of Work: They gave us a quote on a new A/C. The quote was the best (less than $3000 for 3/5 ton), but we have a better relationship with another company and they matched the AirTron quote.

Our 14 year old a/c was not working well. Darren came out and said the coil needed replacing and advised us that the unit would not last much longer and that it probably made sense to replace the whole thing. We decided to get another estimate. Darren said Airtron would match any lower bid. The second company was slightly lower. Darren was a man of his word and said they would install a new unit for the lower price. They came out the following day. One man did it in about 4 hours. We were extremely pleased with the work and the price. We would highly recommend this company!

Airtron installed the furnace, AC, air cleaner, humidifier and also the duct work in our new home in 2004. The air cleaner did not have a filter, the humidifier was installed incorrectly, and rather than using an elbow in the duct work, they bent and nailed straight pipes together. We had Airtron service, per contract and warranty, for about 1 year and they NEVER discovered these problems. It was an independent inspector that found these problems. Airtron brought the wrong air filter 3 times and we finally drove 30 miles to pick one up. The duct work repair did not last. One problem after another - so - we hired and paid another company to repair their mistakes and do the routine service ($800 worth). After being in the home for 3 1/2 years, we started having to add AC refrigerant every 3 - 4 months. We contacted Airtron about warranty. Airtron was not willing to cover any of the cost to do a leak search, not willing to cover any labor and wanted a trip fee because we had not continued to use them for maintenance and service. Airtron did sloppy work and expected that we continue to have them service the units!?!? In addition to the $800 spent initially, we've just had to spend an additional $1580 to repair the air conditioner that is now just out of manufacturer warranty after better than a year talking with Airtron. They never acknowledged or apologized for the problems. I will continue to share my experiences. Definitely the worst service provider I've ever dealt with.
Description of Work: Worst experience ever with a service provider! Many mistakes and not willing to stand behind their work.
