Sigman Pump & Well Service

I called in the morning and spoke with a lady and asked about well chlorination. She was very polite and told me what she knew, but she took down my information to have Butch call me back later in the day to discuss more fully. I received a call back in a few hours, as promised. Butch told me that, despite the plumber's recommendation, the issue is very likely still due to the water heater anode rod. While Sigman could chlorinate my well, he suspected the odor would return in 2-3 days due to the water heater. He advised me to re-contact the plumber regarding the replacement rod in my water heater rather than try chlorination, which likely wouldn't fix our problem. I greatly appreciated his advice and honesty. Rather than trying to sell me on chlorination, he advised me based on his past experience of the best course of action.

They were real helpful and I found them on Angie's List. They were very friendly, respectful of our property and cleaned up after they left. They were topnotch and I will use them again in the future.

Sigman was fantastic! The folks that came out were friendly and the price was great. This was the second time we had used them for servicing the well and we will use them forever. My wife was very pleased that the workers cleaned up after themselves which unfortunately has not always been the case with other contractors we have used.

I called Sigman Pump around 8:30 on a Thursday evening to leave a message letting them know that we needed a service call. They called back the next morning at 7:30 and said they could have someone at our house in about an hour. Jeff came out and spent several minutes checking our well pump, as well as other equipment, while we ran the faucets to try and figure out why our pressure fluctuated so much and why it would go so low. He isolated it to our iron filter, which we rent from another vendor. He suggested we call that vendor, and suggested that we give them his name and number in case they had any questions.

Butch is an amazing resource if you have a well issue! After getting a weird smell from our water, I had the health department test it and it came back positive for total coliform and they said it needed to be chlorinated. They provided directions for a "do it yourself" and it required not running water for like 2 days.....pretty tough to do but I figured there was no alternative! I called around looking for someone to provide the service. Butch was great about returning my call....in fact he tried to reach me several times in response to my message! After talking with him and another company I just felt a comfort level with Butch. I scheduled them to come out and the process that they use is a little different than what was recommended but, for various reasons, it made sense to me. While he was here he also checked out my tank to evaluate whether or not it was working correctly. He told me over the phone how to do it on my own but we weren't sure if we did it right. He wasn't here long but I had the well retested and it was fine. The process was much less "painful" than what was outlined by the health department. I'm sure they have their reasons why they recommend it done in a certain way but Butch's method made sense to me and it worked for us. He did say that if I got another bad report that they would re do the chlorination 1 time for free....if it still tested bad then there was probably a bigger problem. Luckily, we were fine on the first try I will likely do this on a more regular basis now that i know it's not such an ordeal

They were very good. The contact person was David Pritchard. We had them out two or three times and they were either out the same day or early in the morning the very next day. They were extremely nice people. They were very good customer service oriented people. The quality of work was very good. They were just very good. We had no complaints on that. I would use their services again in the future.

I left a message with Sigman Pump after the office closed for the day on Monday. Monday evening Dave Pritchard left a message that he would call me at 7:30 Tuesday morning. At approximately 7:20 Dave called and said he would be at my home around 8 to diagnose the problem. At 8 he arrived and after checking said it was a well or pump problem and they would return mid-morning after they finished another job. At approximately 10 AM they were here and discovered a leak. The pump was putting water in my yard. Leak was repaired and by 11:15 they were gone and all was cleaned up. After being without water for 26 hours, I was relieved that the problem was not more serious.

He was very prompt, thorough, and took good care of me.

I called in the morning and they were able to come out by noon. They were extremely polite, very neat and of all the things it could have been they found a simple solution. It is so wonderful to find a company thats honest, prompt, helpful and knowledgable . I absolutely would use them again.

He was very nice. He came out and I have a cover over but there was a hanger in the pump. He just charged me a service call to remove the hanger and that's all.

It has been 10 years since our well was installed, so I thought it may be time to chlorinate it! I called Sigman and as it was non-urgent, David Pritchard said he would call the day before during the following week. David called on 9/21 and we scheduled service for the following morning. Jeff and Rob arrived at 8:10 am, inspected the system, and recommended that a broken pump support be replaced. I agreed and they installed the new support and well cap and completed the chlorination. They finished at 9:10 am.

I called around, and Sigmund quoted us the best price. They are very easy to work with and have a good reputation in our neighborhood. They're nice and reliable. Everything went well, and they even gavem e a 5 year warranty.

Called Sigman Pump & Well at 7:00 a.m. after finding I had no water pressure the night before. They came out at 1:00 (earliest we could meet them). Our pressure tank had totally failed and Sigman installed a new one. Thanks to a absurdly designed utility area, Sigman's servicemen had to perform a contortionist act in reaching the tank, sawing it into pieces that could be removed in the cramped space, and installing the new tank. That night I noticed an extremely slow drip at a connection on the base of the unit (not an all hands on deck problem, but an issue). I called to report the same and they immediately sent their team out to repair the same. Great service and, while I hope I never have to, I would absolutely use them again.

I contacted several contractors to have an unused well capped off. After getting several estimates I decided to go with Sigman Pump and Well Service because the price was very reasonable. I asked if the well could be sealed 2 feet below ground level since we had future landscaping projects in mind and did not want the unused well head sticking above ground. They told me to dig down to the level I wanted and they would cut off the well casing and seal it below ground level. The two workers arrived at the scheduled time, sealed the well and were done within about 1 1/2 hours. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

Have water well for water supply. Lost water pressure and determined that circuit breaker was tripped, circuit breaker continued to trip. Called SIGMAN PUMP & WELL SERVICE in morning and Jeff and Rob came out around noon to troubleshoot and repair. Tested circuit and determined that breaker was drawing excessive current, pump switch tested OK, Jeff and Rob suspected wiring in well shaft had shorted. Indeed that was the case...pulled pump from 200' well shaft and found short in wiring causing problem. Advised me that twisted strand wire in well shaft will incur abrasion over time due to torque from well pump engaging and disengaging. (Have a 1hp water pump). Jeff and Rob showed me the areas where the insulation had been damaged in the wire causing short (and tripping breaker). Replaced twisted strand wire (each wire was individually single insulated and twisted together) with double insulated flat wire in which all three wires were double insulated in a single flat sheath which would virtually prevent abrasion between the wires rubbing against each other due to well pump torque. Jeff and Rob advised me that the 1hp pump (installed by a competitor) was overkill since water table was roughly 40' and that I would be better off with a 1/2 hp pump because it would cause less torque, fewer on-off cycles, and less sediment in the water supply. They said that if the 1hp pump goes out they would recommend replacing with a 1/2hp pump. That same competitor also installed the inferior twisted strand wire that caused the problem. They did an outstanding job!! There was absolutely no pressure. They took the time to completely explain the problem and repairs, it all made logical sense. They recommended the best option to save me money and what to do next time if I have a problem. They are a very sincere honest company and I will highly recommend them to my family and friends. If you every need their services, you can depend on them to correctly diagnose and explain the problem, and give you top quality service at a very fair price. They will be the only company I call for service!

I called to schedule a diagnostic at 9:30 am, and my faulty well tank and switch were in and running by noon. The gentlemen that came to my house were knowledgeable and friendly. I was given several options on how I could proceed in fixing my problem, and I didn't feel one bit of pressure to pick one over the others. I will call Sigman's anytime that I need any help with my well.

Butch showed up right on time and was very polite. He inspected the whole system and found a wire had been removed from the electrical panel. He then tested the pump and found that it wasn't working. Our home is on city water so this wasn't an emergency. Because we are only using the well water for the lawn and garden and he had one available, we opted to purchase a used pump which saved us a little money. What was really awesome about this company is that he had records from 1986 where he had installed the old pump. I highly recommend this company- they are just good honest people!

I had some questions about well chlorinating... assuming that is what I need. Butch provided some supportive information to me over the phone that will probably save me the cost of chlorinating. He was kind enough to answer questions I had about my well and made a good recommendation. Obviously I know very little, but if I do need to hire services in the future... this is who I'm calling. My soft water people told me I needed my well chlorinated and recommended two companies; one was Sigman. Called to schedule, spoke with David (Butch) and he told me what to expect, and what I needed to do prior to him coming out and after 24 hours. Results have been great, quality of water is much improved.

I was VERY pleased with all my interactions with the company. They were very professional & personable. They made recommendations (like replacing our tank) without being pushy at all. I assume it's a family-owned company, and they provide great, reliable service. I gave them a B for price only because I didn't check around; I don't know how much these things usually cost! I would use them again in a heartbeat!

We have used them for years. They are very decent and reasonable people. They came for an estimate and did not charge me a fee. They are also very dependable.

I called a plumber to see why I had very low water pressure and was told my well pump had to be replaced, which they don't do. The plumber recommended Sigman Pump and Well Service. After talking with a few places and getting a price range of $900 to $1600 I checked Sigman?s rating on Angie's list. They were prompt, courteous, clean, and had everything they needed on the truck. They replaced my well pump in about 3 hours and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely use them if I ever need any work done on my well in the future.

Our well pump stopped without warning late Sunday night. I checked Angie's List and saw that Sigman focused specifically on wells, and their business hours started at 7am. Others started at 8am. Since this was an urgent situation, I called at 7am and David Pritchard himself answered. I did not have to go through any answering service or scheduler. I explained my problem to him and he said he would be happy to come by right away. He was headed out to his first job in Noblesville and would come by my house to check out the problem and see if it was a simple fix. If not, he would come back out later in the day. Either way, same day service. He said to expect him in an hour and he came promptly at 8am with his nephew, the other half of his team. They went down into the crawl space where the pump was located and did not find a problem. The next step was to check the well outside. They pulled the well up and found a wire gone bad. They also had to replace the valve that twists every time the water gets pumped. B**** has the heart of the teacher and was quick to explain everything they were doing and answer my questions. In less than one hour, they had the pump working again and we had water. He told me that I might wait half a day before doing a big job like laundry. Again, showing the extra effort to guide the customer. I did not ask what it would cost before he did the work. But, I thought $250 was reasonable for the prompt, high quality service we received. He made sure to leave his card and phone number in case I had more questions.

I have used them a couple of times earlier. They are great on price, very prompt and I am very much pleased with them than any one else.

They are great. It is a fairly strange trade and they know my well. I like them because they know what they are doing.
