Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

He was originally scheduled for Tuesday 11/24 after 5 pm, but did not show. I did receive a call around 7:30 stating he was still at another job and asked if it was ok to reschedule to another day. I rescheduled for 11/27. Tech was professional and courteous. Upon arrival I did tell him my furnace was not lighting properly. He checked on it it and I was told that I needed a new glow plug which would be over $400.00. I told him to wait as I wanted to talk to my son-in-law before having any repairs completed. The cleaning and tune up was never performed. I got a second opinion, it turns out that it was not getting enough air to light. The other gentleman cleaned out my air flow pipe to the outside and the furnace has been working great ever since. This is the second visit I have had from Service Plus and both times it seemed they were more interested in selling me new equipment rather than actually troubleshooting the problem in detail. Granted, my HVAC system is 12 years old, but to have them tell me I should replace the entire system was ridiculous. I went with someone on Angie's List as I was under the impression that I could trust someone to not take me to the cleaners. I will not have Service Plus at my house ever again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else.

I am so thrilled I contacted this provider. The technician was so professional and explained everything to me in detail. I will definitely use this provider again and even bought a service package with them for future visits. I recommend highly!

The guy who came out was very polite and knowledgeable. He fixed one toilet with an easy fix. He gave me an estimate for repairing and one for replacing the other toilet.

Ryan came out and was completely professional. He did an analysis even thought I thought it was an inside problem. He showed me how it was definitely an outside problem with the drain. We has just had it cleaned out about 3 weeks prior with someone else and we had a problem again. Service Plus did an excellent job and was very thorough. I would hire them again and refer them out to friends and clients. Thank you for a great job done!!!!!

Friendly staff answered the phone and scheduled. Surprised by the quick turn around in scheduling inspections. Contacted before arrival. Arrived right at 8:30 as the apt time was set. Nice to have option for first visit to assure time and not have to wait for 4 hr time block. Both people I worked with were friendly. Provided very helpful advise for heating cost savings and fixed for small plumbing issues. Did not try to up sell us on anything at all, which is our experience with two other providers we worked with in the past that caused us to change to Service Plus.

They overcharged me for a repair that needs to be done so I did not use them. They explained that I needed a repair, it needs a motor and he charged me $1500 to get that done which I was unable and I got a second opinion. He was on time. He wasn't very professional because he was trying to sell me stuff that he overcharged me.

Our furnace was kicking on for 20-30 seconds and then shutting off. The Service Plus customer service team was very friendly and responsive and had someone scheduled to come out the same day. The HVAC tech said that the gas valve was probably bad and would cost over $800 to replace, and that really, the furnace was in bad shape and probably wouldn't last much longer. We called our home warranty company, and they said they would cover up to $600 (minus our deductible), which they said was the national average for that part. Afterwards, the tech said their national average was ridiculously low and that he was surprised they hadn't asked about the overall condition of the furnace and the cost to replace, because we really just needed a new furnace. He had us call them back and offered to talk to them about replacing the furnace, which they weren't willing to do. He said that if we signed up for the Service Plus service plan for $99, the service call would be waived (usually $79), and the discount would take the overall price down to under $800. We agreed to pay for the service plan that night so he could order the part, and that we would discuss a new furnace because our furnace was 14 years old and "at the end of it's life." I called a local, one-man HVAC contractor for a second quote on a new furnace and mentioned the problem. He said that the part for our furnace was expensive at $200-300 plus labor, but that it didn't sound like the furnace needed to be replaced. He came out the same day and realized that the flue was blocked in fifteen minutes. He had it cleared in less than 20 minutes, and the furnace worked perfectly. He said that it seemed to be in decent shape for it's age and would probably last at least a few more years, if not many more. Called back Service Plus to cancel the part order and the service plan and to ask for a refund, since the furance was totally fine, they were completely wrong about the diagnosis, and had been pressuring us into a new furance needlessly. Their manager was friendly and sent a second technician to inspect the furance and confirm that it was working and "would make it through the winter." Second technician was also prompt and friendly, and scoured the furnace for flaws. He described in detail a few issues that would eventually cause the furance to fail, and said that there was no way to tell how long it would last, but that nothing was immediately wrong with it. Called back Service Plus manager, who agreed to refund the extra $20 for the service plan, but said he would have to discuss a full refund with the owners, because they did come out for the service call. It's now been over two weeks (not including a holiday), and I have not heard from Service Plus or received the refund. Even assuming the part had been bad, their price was about double what we would have paid with the other contractor. As far as Service Plus being completely and totally wrong, it's hard to tell whether this was an honest mistake, or an attempt at using scare tactics to pressure us into getting a new furnace. Assuming our $20 ever shows up, calling Service Plus was a total waste of an evening and $79. EDIT: On top of everything else, owner response to this review makes no sense. None of the Service Plus HVAC techs said the motor was overheating, and it was never recommended that the motor be replaced.

They were great! Went above and beyond. Came out same day and installed a new furnace same day. I'm glad we didn't have to spend the night in the cold!

It provided some nice piece of mind. We didn't know what was wrong and it was nice to have the perspective that it wasn't related to furnace condensation.

Went very well. Techician found part going out on heat pump. Gave me option of replacing immediately or waiting until it went out possibly in middle of winter. Of course I had him replace it right away. We discussed maintenance plan which I also took advantage of. Very personable and professional.

this is my 2nd time to use them....great service provider. Staff is always really professional; punctual; and efficient. Great communication process also, giving a call 30 mins before arrival so you don't have to take the whole day off work. Will definitely use again.

Toby showed up Friday night within an hour of our call. He was extremely professional and seemed like a great guy. He ordered a new toilet for us and was able to install on Monday around 1:00. We purchased the service agreement and are very happy with our new toilet. Everyone that we spoke to at Service Plus, has been so kind and friendly. This company is like a good old fashioned hometown plumber that you can always depend on. Thank you.

Derryck was professional, personable and efficient. Company was very responsive and friendly - even on a holiday weekend. Contacted them late the night before via online request - they called at 7 am the next morning and problem solved by 2:00. Derryck was only onsite for approximately 30 minutes. Will use them again.

We have an annual inspection contract with Service Plus including heating, A/C and plumbing. Derryck performed the plumbing inspection and did a great job. He was very thorough and professional.

The Rep from Service Plus (Ronnie) was the best person for this job, he was very professional and knowledgeable . He not only did exactly what needed to be done, but he also educated me on the work he was doing and all aspects of fixing my problem. Ronnie also told me about other services that Service plus offers, which is services I will definitely be ordering . I will only use Service Plus from now on for all of my rentals and my home. Thank you Service Plus and Ronnie, you have a new customer for life. Ronnie is very good and what he does and you don't find employees like him anymore.

I can say nothing but good things about Ken and his assessment of my insulation/ductwork. He was professional, helpful, and didn't try to up sell me anything I didn't need. Would definitely use Service Plus for my future heating and cooling needs.

Service Plus was great! We are selling our home and used them to ensure our air conditioner and furnace were clean and running well. They came on time, and were quick. The guy who came to our home was very polite, and explained what all he did. He gave a very detailed receipt as well which the buyer was very happy with. We will definitely use this company again, it was a very pleasant experience.

We signed a contract with service plus last year, and it's really paid for itself in checking our AC and furnace before each seasonal change, as well as an inspection of our plumbing in our crawl space which was included as well. You cannot beat their customer service, and while they mention options you can consider (i.e., the humidifier on our furnace), they don't try to up sell you or pressure you into spending more money. I'm about the biggest cynic there is in regards to contractors, so when I say one is quality, you can bank on it.

The toilet was leaking. They told me the toilet needed replaced. The technician was not helpful as I live out of state and could not inspect the toilet. They gave no option other then new toilet. The price for new toilet was five hundred dollars... Price was to high but I had no choice. The next day the people renting the property called to report the new toilet was leaking more then the old toilet. I called Service Plus to fix the new toilet. After being on hold for ten min they scheduled the service tech to return. Two hours later I called to see if it had been repaired and they said the service call had been cancelled. Their internal people cancelled the call and said no one was home. That was not true. The renters called me and said they never came. Service Plus rescheduled the technician to fix the toilet. After not hearing anything for three hours, I called and they said it had been fixed. Why did they not call me to tell me, they had no answer. Renters confirmed it was repaired. I will never use Service Pluss again and recommend others do not use them.

They showed up on time and were able to quickly clear the drain. Explained that there was grease build up likely due to the pipe not being at the right angle in the crawl space. Explained how to fix the problem.

Great! Service Plus is a terrific company to use for heating, cooling, and plumbing needs.

Received confirmation calls the day-before, morning of, and before arrival of the service tech. Also received an email with confirmation of who my service tech(s) would be for the appointment, including their photo. All service techs were very professional, thorough, and took time to explain their activities and findings. All reporting and invoicing is done via tablets and email. One tech found minor furnace issues that would need attention in the future but were not requiring immediate attention; still received a call from the head office a few days later inquiring if I was interested in repair. So far I have been very pleased with their service and professionalism.

I purchased a furnace tune up deal for $39. I called the company and scheduled the appointment and the scheduler was very nice and professional. They scheduled me 2 weeks out only because I wanted a weekend and they accommodated for that. The technician showed up on the dot and performed everything he was supposed to. The furnace seems to be functioning a lot better! Service Plus even called me a few days later to make sure I had no complaints and everything went smoothly which I appreciated. I would use again!

He drained and inspected my hot water heater, re-positioned the floats on all my toilets, inspected the drains and water supply lines for all my sinks, and showers. He answered all my plumbing questions and also offered maintenance tips for future reference. He arrive at the exact time of my appointment. He introduced himself and told me what company he worked for. He wore cloth booties to protect the floors inside my house. He drafted a repair estimate for a plumbing concern I have and emailed the service receipt and repair estimate to my email account. I have had several different technicians perform maintenance on my house over the years and I have been happy with all.

My furnace stopped running on a cold evening. I called Service Plus the next day...Saturday...early in the morning. Their tech was here @ 8:30 AM! He made a couple of adjustments and re-started the furnace. Then, he waited for some time to see if the problem would re-occur, which it did not. This company installed my furnace one year ago, and, until recently, everything was fine. Because of the warranty and/or my annual service contract, there was no charge for his time or even a trip charge....even on a Saturday. I'm a real fan of Service Plus...they are always punctual, professional, and have great quality control.
