Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

Appointment was set to fit my schedule with cheerfulness by Jennifer at S/+. Plumber called me en route, and arrived exactly on time. He was neat, clean & orderly. He wore shoe protectors to keep our carpets clean. He performed service in timely manner, presented charges as contracted with "Deal" by Angie's List, and we were very satisfied. Drain continues to run open. Thank You Service Plus!

They offered to do a plumbing checkup for free as a followup to earlier service and responded immediately to our request to schedule it. The serviceman was very prompt and friendly. He explained several options for moving forward. They scheduled the installation for just days later. For that appointment, they were prompt , friendly, and very thorough. I think it took them 6 hrs. to finish completely because of some old house issues and several trips to buy various additional parts. Afterward, they explained to us what they had done and how to take care of things ourselves. We were completely happy with the results except for one pile of dirt and residue that was left in the bathroom. They probably just forgot that.

For awhile, I'd been hearing a slight noise like the water was running at the meter, but the meter wasn't spinning. But it got a LOT louder on 12/27. Placed calls to a few people to see about repairs. Dan from Service Plus came out and looked at what was going on and then went to right up a quote, but he'd need to check if Carmel required me to move my meter. Unlike newer homes, my meter is located in the basement where the water line comes in through the wall. Once he got the information, he said that I would have to move the meter outside, and that I needed to replace the poly line with k-copper, to the tune of ~$5700. And that was only after the upsell to their yearly service plan which would get me a 10% discount. Dan was very nice and friendly, but I have no idea who talked to to confirm the meter needed to be moved, because it didn't! I got a quote from someone else who actually called Carmel, and I confirmed with Carmel myself directly also, that no, I did NOT need to move the meter from inside to outside. And i could actually get the entire repair done for $2000. Which is what I did. Service Plus might have done the work just fine if I'd called them back to tell them they didn't need to move the meter, but they should have known, or been able to confirm it properly.

We called because we had water leaking through the ceiling of our basement. The technician spent 10 minutes walking through the house and said he wouldn't be able to thoroughly diagnose the problem unless he cut through the drywall in the ceiling of our basement. But first, he wanted to charge us $250 for us to run our shower and for him to watch the water continue leaking! Outrageous. Next, he'd need to cut the drywall to truly diagnose the problem. My husband and I told him we needed to sleep on it and he charged us a $79 service fee. Today we called Gurney Bush and the technician told us that our line was just clogged up. We only needed to have the main drain snaked and cleaned. He charged us $125. I will never use Service Plus again.

The technician was on time and professional. He told me my 20-year needed to be replaced due to potential CO leak. He had another technician give a "second opinion" from the same company. The original price for the new heater was about $3,000., and I made an appointment for installation in three days. I did get a second opinion from another contractor who confirmed I needed a new heater. He quoted me $2,400, but it would take a few days longer. I decided to go with the second option. When I called Service Plus to cancel I was put through to a manager. He asked why I was cancelling, and I told him I could get the heater for about $600 less elsewhere. He matched the price, so I stayed with them and I had the new heater sooner. While I appreciate that they matched the price, I would have hoped to get the best deal initially. Perhaps if I said that the other provider was quoting me less, I could have gotten a bigger price adjustment . . .

The repair tec showed up and after explaining a $1700 bill promised my family it would get fixed. The next day we got a phone call the tec was on his was way. That was 12pm by 6pm after numerous back and forth calls I was told we would not get service till the next morning. I had expressed my concern because I had a 2 & 3 year old as well as a 7 year old in the house. But still no help for us. Is 30 degrees out side and this morning I begged them to let me know if they could not do the job cause I was concerned for the kids. I was told they did not stop working until all there jobs were in and we were an emergency. In the end if this helps the next person good if not I guess it was just my family that learns the lesson just because you have an A+ rating on Angies list doesn't mean your employees are A+.

I could have purchased a faucet through Service Plus, but it made more sense selection-wise and cost-wise to go get one myself from Lowes. I appreciated the honest approach by Service Plus. They diligently followed up with me to ensure I got a refund for the deposit I had given them. They were great to work with and I plan to purchase a heating/cooling service plan with them.

Everything was fine. The serviceman spent a lot of time explaining his service and what he was doing. He knew what he was doing. They did charge $300 extra for a part which seemed high.

Everything went fine. I use Service Plus for my HVAC and plumbing needs, and I would highly recommend them.

Came as promised, provided inspection as promised

I have waited for about a year to finally review this company. Hadn't planned to actually because I just don't know for sure that I'd recommend them, though they might be just fine. But I kept getting "nagged" by the pop up message from Angies List, so I thought I'd go ahead and offer my two cent's worth. It is really hard to say with this company. i used the same independent fella for lots of years, and this time, he wasn't available as working on furnaces/AC units is not his primary bread and butter anymore, due to divorce. I had these folks come out and clean my furnace and check it out. It's an old furnace, but it works fine, has for many years. A fella came out and said I had a crack in the block, even showed me on his little camera screen. But i wasn't convinced it was actually a crack, but certainly can't be to careful. Honestly, it looked more to me like a seam in the block. The fella told me he wouldn't "red tag" my furnace as though he were doing me some sort of favor and said the furnace could be leaking carbon monoxide. However, he didn't offer to check for any leakage, which I found interesting. The guy was trying to talk me into one of the more high efficiency models that cost more, but save you more in the long run. I was finally able to get my regular guy out for a second opinion. He didn't have one of those fancy cameras, but he did shut out the lights and shine his flashlight inside and asked me to look from several angles for light shining through. Funny thing, I NEVER saw any! Now, don't you think I'd see light if I had a crack? I'm just a single lady, have been for most of my adult life and I like to think the best of people, but somehow, I just didn't trust the initial assessment of my furnace. My regular guy advised me to get a good gas and carbon monoxide detector to ease my concerns, created by the other company. And what do you know? It hasn't gone off once! Now, I'm certainly no expert. Computers are my thing, not furnaces. So I wouldn't go so far as to say this company was trying to cheat me, but then again, I certainly didn't feel a strong level of comfort in taking their word as gospel truth. So if they check your furnace and tell you that you need a new one, and they just so happen to sell them too, do yourself a favor and get a second opinion from another company, just for peace of mind's sake. Although, I'd give that advice, no matter the company.

Jonas was polite and professional. He seemed very knowledgeable. He has about 15 years of experience. He looked at both showers and we talked about the problem I was having with each of them. He then worked on several estimates for me to choose from. He was not high pressure, which I appreciated. Several days later I decided to have the work done by Service Plus and scheduled an appointment for Monday.

The gentleman told me my condenser motor was bad and needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate of $800-900. My husband found the part on amazon for ~$150 and replaced it himself in about 20 minutes. We haven't had any problems since. I probably won't use them again.

The provider was very nice and performed all services with no issues

I called Service Plus because they had installed a garbage disposal and did a great job. I had pvc pipe ran to a washer that had developed a leak. I told them I needed about 70 feet of pvc replaced with pecs line. They showed up with only 20 feet and quoted me $676 to replace the lines. Being in a pickle I okayed the job. It took the plumber about 1 1/2 hours to do the job, the same time it took to install the garbage disposal, for which they charged me $186. Then I wasn't given the 15% discount for being a Service Plus member. I thought I was taken advantage of and overcharged. When they sent out an email for a review I was never contacted. Maybe you should get a quote before they come out so you don't have to pay them for a service call to get a quote.

Contractor arrived when scheduled, completed work quickly.

A neighbor had recently experienced an issue with a blockage of their sewer line that had caused a backup. As a preventative maintenance measure, I purchased the $49 for Drain or Sewer Line Clearing Deal. Service Plus contacted me right away to schedule the service. The technician arrived on time, and ran a snake down the sewer clean-out to verify there were no problems of blockages. He was very friendly, and professional in his work. I was glad to have peace of mind concerning this issue. I would not hesitate to recommend Service Plus Heating Cooling + Plumbing.

I think it was OK. He came out and told me that I needed to change out the whole heating system. I two more contractors come in and look to get a second opinion. They said there was no reason to change my heating system, only the a certain part needed to be changed. I did not go by what was recommended by this contractor. I bought the Angie's List membership and used this at the same time. It was only $99 and nothing more than that. I was able to get the inspection done but, I don't understand why the estimate I got from them was so far from what the other two service providers. I followed the suggestions from the other service providers and my heating system is running just fine. The responsiveness was OK. I was uncomfortable with how off they were about my heating system. They were punctual.

We used the Angie's list deal. Service tech came out on time. Assessed problem. Drain couldn't be unclogged. We have an older home and old pipes so pipe actually had to be cut in order to get to clog and a new portion of pipe was installed. I believe our technician was Toby. He performed work and we were up and running in no time.

Everything was completed as i expected. ?Very happy.

Our sewer line got clogged and backed up into our bath tubs. We panicked and wonder how we could get someone to come out the same day. My wife said to call a plumber, and I told her I would check with Angie's List first. I read quite a few of the reviews on Service Plus and the reviews were really good. So we called Angie's List and ordered the deal they were offering. Service Plus called, I told Jennifer (she was very polite and professional) about our problem and asked how log it would take to get someone out to do the work and she said that they consider this an emergency and would have someone out in about an hour. Jennifer told me that Ronnie would be my technician and he would call when he was on his way. Ronnie got here and accessed the problem and told me everything he was doing and why he was doing in detail . He got the snake out and cleaned the sewer line. Ronnie came in and checked the tub to make sure it was draining properly, which it wasn't and he even adjusted the drain plug so it would drain faster. Something he didn't have to do. He went above and beyond what he required to do. Ronnie was very professional, informative, polite, quick to do the work. I will definitely call them back if I need any other plumbing work.

They put the wrong filter in. I had to go out and buy a filter. It just takes one size and then I go out and get it. He brought one the wrong size, said it did not work and just tried to jam it in there. I just did not feel comfortable with that. They were on time and the guy was nice, but that does not mean anything. Putting the wrong filter in could have caused me more damage.

This was a $49 big deal purchase and it was okay. We had to have our furnace replaced, but their price was ridiculously high so we did not use them. When they did the tune up they told us that the furnace was bad and that it should be replaced. The service was just average. The technician who showed up was okay. The price for the service they provided was okay.

Very professional, very polite. Greatly appreciated the manner of the staff. Did a great job repairing and cleaning up after themselves too.
