Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

Service Plus came out within hours of my phone call. The representative was efficient, personable and good at his job. I've used them before and will use again.

They explained that the coupon was only if we paid for all of the repair based on an hourly rate and itemized materials (T&M). They offered a different deal they claimed to be better, which after the repair, I was kind of glad I took. Luckily we got a refund on the cost of the coupon. We had a huge maple tree infiltrate our sewer line that was from the era of clay pipe. They offered two alternatives to fix. Pipe bursting and digging the old fashioned trench. The story gets complex, but I should have just let them pipe burst the entire line and it would have been great. With hindsight now on my side, the complexity of this job should not have been necessary. I admit that we were trying to minimize the repair; with better tools, leading to better guidance, we would have come to a different conclusion and plan. While the technicians doing the work were outstanding, they had issue with company provided tools. Their underground locator/camera equipment was not very reliable. One set had a camera that worked, but could not locate. The other set could locate, but could not see, and was too short to perform an adequate job. This forced wasted time, while trying to get working equipment from other teams dispatched to other jobs. The auger they used to clear the line for the camera also malfunctioned during part of the repair, leading to more wasted time, while they fixed it onsite. I understand how important tools are to performing a proper job, and it seemed they had too many things happen to be bad luck on my site. I think it is up to the company to provide properly functioning tools at the time of taking the job. While not the only issues, these couple of examples demonstrate my point. With proper tools we would have made better decisions to complete the task. The tools contributed to the struggle to find the main pipe as it left the house, leading to a couple extra days of digging (some by hand), and a far bigger hole than necessary for the repair. The initial estimate was also incorrect, as they missed that my sewer actually connected on the other side of the street. I also had to ask, that an item be removed from the estimates after the plan changed; an oversight that helped reduce the bill slightly. After a long discussion we were able to formalize a plan that was a hybrid of two techniques initially offered to repair the problem. After completion the manager came back and we discussed some minor items I wanted corrected. He asked that I pay the remainder of the balance; I reluctantly "paid in full" after he promised to return for those other items. It's been nearly three months, and we have not heard from them. I guess we should have held some money back, to guarantee they would return. I am a pretty demanding customer and don't mind paying a little extra for quality. I feel that the value we received for the final price may not have been there in the end. While they initially promised a few days to repair, the work took nearly three weeks to complete, with a few too many "surprises" for one job. I have what I consider a couple of minor details to correct, and a larger than necessary mess to clean up in the front yard. While it is functioning properly, this could have been a completely different review had they followed up as promised. Not a peep, making me hesitant to recommend them to anyone in the future.

Had them out to service, clean the furnace. Before they could get there it stopped working but luckily they were coming out the next day. Heater was going to be to costly for it's condition so we purchased a new one. Very quick, helpful and affordable.

My kitchen drain was plugged. (Had put too much in garbage disposal). I have used Service Plus before and was pleased that they came out the same day I called. This time I debated about buying their Angies Deal service call special, but decided to call direct hoping someone could get to me again on the same day. Sure enough, same day service which I'm happy to pay more to get. However, $255 to clear one drain when I see that another review customer paid $160 for two drains and I have been watching a commercial on TV for Mr. Quik (seems like every 10 minutes) advertising they would clean any drain for $99 causes me to believe I may have paid more than fair for the convenience.

I'm going to rate them a B because they had to come back. They actually fired the fellow who first came.

Went very well. They even made recommendations on some parts that would keep the issue from happening again in the future. Great price, and service.

Showed up on time, completed in timely manner. Would (and have) used provider again.

Arrived late then they went to their truck to get tools. Came back 20 minutes later. Didn't have the tools to do the job of removing faucet handle. They used my tool. Didn't have grout to seal the job. Found leak but it wasn't a plumbing problem so they charged me $116 to diagnose the problem. After they left I reviewed the coupon and realized the double charged me. Called the business and left a message. After a few days I called again and talked to a nice guy who reviewed the coupon and agreed with me. He credited the $116 back to me.

The Service Plus technician arrived on time and, upon inspecting the unit, told me that the air conditioner was beyond repair. He proceeded to write up a +/- $4,500 estimate for a new AC unit. I am not the sort of person that will shell out $4,500 without a second opinion, so I brought in another Angies' List A-rated provider to diagnose and estimate the repair cost. The other provider (NOT Service Plus) fixed the unit in under an hour for around $300. This was about 8 months ago and the AC unit is still running strong. Either the Service Plus technician was trying to sell me something that I did not need or, more likely, he was not skilled enough in HVAC repair to accurately diagnose and fix the problem. Either way, I will not be giving Service Plus any more of my money. They kept the $40 service call fee.

It went perfectly. The technicians knew what they were doing and did it in a timely fashion. I was so glad that they showed up on time and finished the job. When we had to call them back for something that was our issue they did it without charge just so the job was completed as arranged.

From initial contact to work completion was less than four hours. This company and it's employees are the Best I have ever encountered. Serviceman Dean is the G.O.A.T. I will certainly tell everyone I know about these folks. 5 Stars

Service plus has become my go-to provider for applicable services. Provided same-day service for garbage disposal issue.Made recommendations with several alternatives but was not pushy. Efficient, competent, good communication , personable. The service professional Ronnie Snelbaker was all of these, what I really liked were his positive comments about his employer and the work culture. A very satisfied customer.

Service technician was a respectful person but the cost price to fix the small job was WAY overpriced. I could not believe it!! I called them because they had a running coupon at $40 just to come and give me an estimate for the job. I thought to myself, for sure this is not going to cost me an arm and a leg knowing what it would take to fix it. Service Plus said it would cost me $395 to fix it plus $40 for the visit. Well, I lost the $40 and called somebody else. It took this plumber 20 mins to do the job and $350 less than Service Plus. I will never use this company again. People BE AWARE!

Service Plus was excellent. Our kitchen sink began to run slow and got progressively worse. We purchased an Angie's List coupon for a $40 service visit and we called the next day to set up a time for them to come out. They came out that very morning and cleared our drain and unblocked the clog. They were fast and thorough and we would most definitely call on them again.

Monday-Called Service Plus to report that drains were backing up. Decided on a Wednesday appointment when I would be working from home. Wednesday-Plumber showed up on time and verified that my main line to the sewer was blocked. He did not have the equipment to remove it. Thursday- Plumbers showed up but did not have an auger that would remove the blockage. Friday-Industrial strength auger showed up. Plumber determined that the line was full of roots and the best solution was to replace the clay pipe all the way to the city line. I agreed on the premise that 5 oak leaf hydrangeas would not be affected. Ron told me that the hydrangeas were not in the way. I was not shown the footage of the blockage and tree roots. Friday night my dog fell into the trench although it was ?secured? with plastic fencing. I rescued the dog since Service Plus did not consider this an Emergency. The temperature was 10 degrees. Monday was Presidents? Day so the city could not send someone to approve the work before the trench was filled. Tuesday-2 men showed up at 8 AM to fill the trench. At 1 PM they received an e-mail from their boss that the city would not show up. Thursday-Received a call from Service Plus that the city had a new computer system and they did not know when the plumbing would be inspected and the trench filled in. I inspected several 3 foot pieces of the clay pipe that had been left on the ground. None of them were clogged with tree roots. Friday while I was at work the trench was filled. The hydrangeas bushes were damaged, removed, or crushed. The trench had been opened for a week. There is an elementary school less than 2 blocks from my house and many children live in this neighborhood. If a 14 year old blind, deaf dog can fall in the trench it also posed a hazard to children. The clean clay pipes and the fact that Service Plus never showed me the video of the blockage make me question if the company uses scare tactics to sell very expensive work. I have also lost one thousand dollars? worth of hydrangeas that Eagle Creek Nursery planted late last summer. I have tried to contact Jeremiah at Service Plus many times. He is always in a meeting or not in his office. Although the women in the call center are very sympathetic I have had not had a conversation with Jeremiah. This company charges premium prices but they do not deliver premium service. I was a returning customer who had spent thousands of dollars with the company.

I feel bad I cannot remember the service men's names, but the main technician who installed my furnace was extremely nice and very professional. There was a slight hiccup in my existing thermostat (Nest) talking with the new furnace's control board properly (Rheem). The technician said he was staying until it was fixed - he was very diligent in making sure I wasn't left without heat in the winter. He got everything working and I was very pleased. A second technician took care of the whole house humidifier, Not much to it, he was in and out pretty quick. I really liked the plumber that did the plumbing inspection. He was very knowledgeable of the work he was doing and was very well at communicating his findings in a manner that a non-plumber can understand. The hiccup I had was with the communication in getting quotes. I either called them or they called me approximately 7 times before I actually got the quote I wanted and all the info. I am cutting them some slack because the furnace was being replaced in a house I was buying as part of a condition from the inspection (the heat exchanger was cracked), so there was confusion when I would call asking about a quote for a house I didn't actually own yet because the address was in their system under the previous owners name - hopefully that makes sense. Again, I am cutting them some slack on that since it is an abnormality to have that situation, and once we got that squared away every person I interfaced was extremely nice and helpful. I will definitely use Service Plus again.

I purchased the special drain opener coupon $44.00 When the plumber tried to open the drain it was still clogged. He went under the house and cut a section of the pipe out and bought it in to show me how clogged up it was. He said it was as hard as cement and he needed to cut the pipe out and replace it. I asked the price and he checked his I pad and said it would be $1,400.00 I don't remember if there was any extra but I remember the $1,400.00. I asked him why It was so high, and I was told that the pipe is very expensive. He then said if I would like to join their service plan it would be 15% off. and my bill would be $1,057.80.the plan price was $99.00 so altogether the price was $1,200.80. When he came the next day he said they did not have the 20ft 2inch pipe so he bought one 2inch piece and one 3inch piece. He and his helper installed the pipe. I still wondered how this could cost so much. The two days together, he was not under the house 45min. I went to Lowe's the next day and priced the pipe it was not over $20.00 dollars for a 20 inch piece and since he bought two different sizes he must have used scraps. I contacted the company and asked for an itemized bill, I was told at first they do not give out itemized bills. After three calls I was sent something which is still not an itemized bill. I don't object to paying a fair price for services but I don't want to be taken advantage of. I now also think the drain could have been just cleaned out instead of replacing the pipe.

It went very well. Derryck was a great technician. I would definitely recommend Service Plus.

The guy that was sent was great. He went to work and was really interactive. He made several recommendations and looked at another problem we had.

We used a different company to perform the repair due to a lower price and quicker service. However, Service Plus' repairman was exceptionally valuable in providing information and rationale for the repair that would be needed.

Did a great job with service work. Called to say they were on their way, showed up on time, worked around other contractors in our home at the same time. Answered questions and concerns. Did a great job.

Very responsive and efficient

Everything started out fine. The technician was kind and did end up doing a good job. I was off work and wanted this to get done, so when the price kept going up and up I didn't want to just pay for the service call and have them leave without fixing it. It started out being $550 to completely replace the toilet. Then they found that the leak had caused the floor to become a little uneven so they had to even out the floor and replace the valve in the back of the toilet. He also went into my crawlspace and I believe corrected one of the pipes to tilt down as over the years it had straitened out to where everytime you flush the toilet it wasn't draining in a downward direction causing it to clog over time. I ended up having them take away any discounts I had through Angie's List as they informed me that I'd have to get it to an even $1,000 to finance it (which would be interest free). I didn't want to pay $930 all at once or whatever it was, so they took away discounts to make it $1,000.35. The technician explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. I had trouble understanding what he was talking about, but just wanted my toilet fixed & signed everything to get him to fix it. I called the next day and then again today when I didn't hear back from his boss. His boss was pretty rude and said there was no way he could send me a detailed invoice explaining every charge. He said they do not charge by an hourly rate and that it's the same no matter what, but that all the extra costs came to protect the company, the technician, and the truck. I could have gone to Menards which is 2 minutes from my house and gotten a toilet for the technician to install, but he insisted they were able to get the best deal and that he could get it from their warehouse. It took him an hour to go get this and come back when their location is only 5-10 minutes from me. I learned from his boss today that he had to go to Broadripple to get the toilet as it wasn't in stock at the warehouse in Fishers...I was never informed of this. That really doesn't matter though as his boss informed me that this had nothing to do with the price. I cannot for the life of me figure out why I was charged so much. The technicians boss tried to explain that it all had to do with protecting the company, truck, and technician and the cost was so high because of this, but that makes absolutely no sense to me. He said he'd contact me on Monday with an invoice, but that it would only show the total cost and what they did. I want to see an itemized invoice, but he said that's not possible. I did sign several things on an IPad before he completed the work and agreed to financing this, but I'm hoping I can get this changed and not have to pay $1,000 as that's just ridiculous to pay to replace 1 toilet.
