Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

We had a problem with the toilet. They came out, installed a new flush valve, seal, and bolts. The toilet is working fine; they did an excellent job on the repair. They did not charge the service call charge this time as they has been here earlier for the same problem.

Service Professional on time, corrected problem. Very friendly and informative.

Fabulous. Turned out our 15+ year old HVAC was teetering and with R-22 phasing out, it made sense to get a new system. The pros at Service Plus came out, did a fantastic job and we are sitting in the cool and saving money with every kilowatt. Great, fast, easy service and a discount too!

Service Plus tech used an auger to clear the clog. He then checked to be sure it was working OK by putting a wad of toilet paper in the toilet and flushed it twice. That worked OK. We only had to pay the $49.00 cost of the the special offer from Angie's List.

Shot out to all these people who completed some type of work on my build-a-bear house: (hopefully we never see each other again unless it's for maintenance!!) I gave the price a C, because I'm still whining about paying this bill.

We have a maintenance plan with Service Plus. We recently moved and did not want to "waste" our annual A/C tune-up on the old house. They were kind enough to transfer our plan and came out to perform the tune-up at the new house. Everything looked good on the tune-up and the technician provided some recommendations and things to keep an eye on for the future, which was very helpful being in a new house and not knowing the status of our systems very well. Each time we have had Service Plus tend to our HVAC, we have been very pleased with the experience.

They told me that there was a hole in the drain and that is the reason why it was leaking. I had to call them out a second time because my drain got plugged up again. They said the hole had gotten bigger, but that was a lie. They even quoted me another $600. So I stopped using them. It thought they were trying to scam.

Improperly diagnosed problem. Checked water meter's leak detector found it was turning slightly. Said I had a pipe leak under slab and proposed a thermo-scan of slab to determine location of leak, at a cost of $926.81 for the scan. I sought out a second opinion as my monthly water usage has remained consistent for the past two years. Second opinion revealed a faulty thermo expansion tank on water heater causing the water meter's leak detector to move and a malfunctioned water softener leaking out the softening beads and causing the low water pressure and gurgling in walls in the master bath and washer areas.

BEWARE!!!!!!! PLEASE READ!!!!! When contacted they has no information of ever installing the unit. The technician dispatched insisted Service Plus did not install my unit. I showed him paperwork that told him otherwise. He diagnosed a coolant leak in the outside unit. Then proceeded to charge me for the diagnosis indicating they would need to talk about me at a morning meeting. I refused to pay as all paperwork I had indicated a full 10 year parts, compressor and labor warranty. After noon the following day I called the company to determine what was decided. Curtis, the manager was just leaving for vacation. He asked that I fax any paperwork I had to a fax number he gave me. Two hours later, I called again. Curtis was gone but instructed a staff member to tell me that parts were covered but not labor. Again, I insisted my paperwork indicated labor was covered. The new individual asked me if I could fax my paperwork to them again because Curtis had given me an outdated fax number. I proceeded to do so, and made one more call to Service Plus. At this time I was told that individuals currently at the office could not make a decision regarding my situation. The owner would need to make this decision in the morning. The next morning I received a call from a woman who told me that it was decided my unit was no longer covered under warranty. Following replacement 6/7/2011 the unit had only one additional annual service on 6/14/12. Thus, as I had not had an annual service completed in 13, 14, or 15 the contract was void. Unaware of this contract stipulation, as I had received nothing in writing nor a product use and care guide, I was taken by surprise. When sold the product and when installed all paperwork indicated a full 10 year warranty. At that time Curtis Copp, Bill Fleming or Fred Wright a year later had ample opportunity to discuss the fact that the warranty would be void without annual servicing. Why was nothing said? In calling around, I found this is NOT the industry standard. Approximately 25% of heating and cooling companies choose to do business in this manner. YOU CAN DO BETTER!!! FIND ANOTHER HEATING AND COOLING COMPANY WITH BETTER PRACTICES!!

Technician was on time and professional. Identified the problem was not the capacitor quickly and gave me options. $3,700 for a new HVAC or 700 to replace engine. Fixed quickly and now the unit is working. Note that the fan engine itself is only about $150 dollars and I think I could have done it myself. I essentially paid a premium of $500 for the hardware but it does come with a 2 year warranty from Service Plus AND the annual member ship includes 3 service appointments (1 cooling, 1 heating, and 1 plumbing) So a little on the expensive side but the service was excellent in all ways!

Great! We are always happy with Service Plus, they are friendly, reasonably priced and knowledgeable. We had a minor problem with a toilet that was fixed in less than 15 minutes. We pay the $99 annual membership and get all the service calls we need for the year. I renewed our membership again because we are so happy with Service Plus.

Great - the technician was incredibly helpful and efficient

I purchased the Service Plus Club membership and received 15% off for a hose spigot replacement and an A/C tuneup which was part of the service agreement. Both jobs were performed well and both service technicians were very knowledgeable and friendly to work with. I plan to continue the Service Plus Club membership when this first one expires.

They did a terrible job. He missed a crucial piece. He misdiagnosed the whole problem. So he was terrible. He misdiagnosed the entire problem and said we needed an entirely new system when that was not the case. There was a very simple issue. We're talking about a rubber band versus replacing the whole unit. My wife was here during that trip, not me. Initially, she thought he did great, until we found out that he missed the whole thing. It just went to heck in a handbasket. He could have been more thorough in his assessment. If he had been more thorough, he would have caught the issue and a band-aid would have been taken off, instead of the whole engine. Wife said he was very polite and very professional and that he appeared to know what he was doing. But all those things aside, you hire a mechanic to fix your car and your car isn't fixed. My wife just said, "He said I needed a whole new engine, while all I needed was a spark plug." We've got a $15,000 bill for a $300 problem! An old filter was stuffed into the system that the technician missed. That is why the grades were not reflective of what they could have been.

The leak was at the back of our vanity going into the wall. We either needed to remove our vanity to get to the leak or cut a hole in the wall behind the sink which led to our staircase. Dan recommended cutting a hole in the wall. This is what we decided to do. Dan completed the work in just a few hours and got out sink working leak free in time for our company.

Great - They responded within minutes and had someone at my house within the hour. The repair was done quickly and efficiently. I was very happy with the service provided. They also followed up with an email and a phone call within 24 hours. Two days later I received a thank you card from the technician.

I really liked the guy who was out here for that. It was really good but after a month or so later, I had them out to drain our water heater because it was a part of that plan my husband purchased. When they came to do that, they wanted to check the plumbing. The plumber started telling me how incorrectly the sump pump had been done. I told them it was done by a guy from their company. He just shut up and left me alone. I thought that was highly unprofessional.

The guy said everything's fine and it's in working older as well as it's getting older. I've got in my email a price quote for a whole new furnace. I was confused because he told my husband it was fine but he was quoting me on a whole new furnace. They were really weird about that. The cost was free at that time because they talked my husband into one of their service plans. For a year they would come out and do heating checks. Every time they came out to do a check, they're trying to sell something. I would not buy that plan again. They're just trying to find something wrong.

It went well. He did a good job and cleaned up after himself.

It went great Technician knew just how to install it

When the technician arrived and the home he tried to clear the drain and said that the pipes were old and crooked and needed to be replaced that there was a high risk of breaking the pipe with a cable machine. He gave me estimates for new plumbing ranging from $360 for using a cable machine to $5500+. All of these prices are much higher than the $49.00 I paid for the coupon. I called Roto Rooter from Angie's list and paid $219 to have the drain cleaned. This is the second bad experience I have had with Service Plus. I'm done.

Very well. He assessed then left to buy parts. He said he would be scheduled soon to come back and he was scheduled almost within 24 hours. The hose on the kitchen sink needed an adjustment to work well around the under sink pipes; he figured out how it would function better.

I chose ServicePlus based on a coupon in Angie's List magazine. I don't recall the exact price, but the coupon was honored. Technician Dean called ahead and arrived as scheduled. He was clean, polite and knew his stuff. He had some trouble breaking up the clog, but he didn't give up and eventually got the water flowing again. I'd call them again if we have another issue, but now that we've stopped putting pasta (and rice and potato peelings) down the disposal, I think we won't have any more problems.
