Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

My experience with them was very, very good. They were very friendly and very helpful. They did exactly what we wanted.

The representative was very helpful in giving us all of the options to choose from and even went above and beyond by finding a scratch and dent for us that has a 1 yr. warranty. We went with this option because my husband just switched jobs and we couldn't afford a new unit.

Dean and Josh did a great job!! They were very efficient and neat. They were so courteous and understanding of how to get the job done. They even had to pull a toilet to make sure that the job was done correctly.

Service Plus promptly responded to my request to look at a basement drain back up. They diagnosed an issue with the clay tiles in the sewer line that connect to the city sewer and proposed a replacement process that would consist of one small hole at each end of the line and the replacement line would be forced through with little disruption to the landscape. From the beginning the process did not go as planned and the 3 day job extended to more than 2 weeks. At each stage of the process they kept me informed of the issues and fixes. They agreed to return in the fall to make repairs to the landscaping due to the extensive damage. I returned after 2 weeks away to find water in the basement along the wall where the sewer line is located. They came on 3 occasions and did minor work to replace soil on the outside foundation. Water continued to pour into the basement walls where there had never been a water issue. They finally told me that I needed to have a foundation expert look at the work--they did not have a recommendation, but suggested that I go to Angie"s List and find a service provider. I did so and got 2 estimates for the work and scheduled it. In the meantime, I used pumps, shop vac and fans to control the water still coming through the walls. I met with the plumbing manager who then offered to do the same work as estimated by the other 2 contractors. At this point, the service was scheduled and I preferred to go with a contractor who does this work as a primary business and stated that I am expecting a monetary settlement for the additional $9000 in work. The promised call to discuss early in the week of 9/5/16 never came and they have not returned my follow up call. UPDATE: 10/21/2016 The company has still not responded or communicated in any way since promising.

The company's crew was on time, and replaced my A/C unit as planned. There was a momentary mix-up on the cost for the unit, but after speaking with the company's owner, this was all straightened out. I am very pleased with the professionalism of this firm.

Good on their part, mine, not so much. The cleaning went fine but roots were found & he suggested a camera inspection at no cost to me. This was done and there were some more serious issues found. They knew I was upset at the potential cost & came up with 4 different estimates & gave me their recommendations which I am evaluating.

I live in an older home and have had Service Plus come out several times over the years for both plumbing and heating. Ron S. has responded to a number of these calls (including today's) and his service has always been prompt, professional, and I appreciate the way he clearly explains any work that needs to be done. Because of the excellent service I've received, I'm a Service Plus Club member and highly recommend this company.

They showed up on time and fixed the sink very quickly. They also fixed the leaky valves and made sure my other sinks didn't have any issue as well.

Steve was really friendly and helpful. We appreciated him doing his due diligence, which allowed him to quickly fix the issues and saved us thousands of dollars. My husband was at work, and Steve was patient as I called my husband a couple times to put him on speaker. Thanks, Steve!

We had them come out to look at some plumbing but then they up-sold us to also looking at our HVAC and for both of them, they said, you need all of these repairs and this on going service from us. We said, no thank you. It really seemed like they were just trying to up-sell us to buy more services rather than giving an accurate estimate about what was going on. They were fairly responsive and pretty punctual. They were professional but not necessarily honest.

It was okay. I was promised a morning appointment, with a call 30 minutes before arrival, and never heard from anyone. I called shortly after noon, and was told that one of the technicians was called home for an emergency, but that the dispatchers had forgotten to call me :-( ! The technician tried to find a replacement tank, but it was unavailable, so instead replaced the entire unit. There was also some controversy over the price. They sold me a membership, but then wouldn't let me use one of their coupons I receive in the mail from time to time. They ended granting me a one-time exception (thank you!) but I had to "raise a stink", and the job took considerably longer than it should have because of this.

Great. Dan arrived on time and completed the work. He accidentally broke a glass keepsake that was on the sink counter and immediately talked to me about it and asked what he could do to compensate. We worked out an agreement. He was friendly and efficient. He gave me options to consider for the work.

We have been using Service Plus for a couple of years now and really like them. We knew that our furnace was on borrowed time, but this time it was the A/C unit. It just wasn't cooling. Called the emergency line on a Sunday evening and when the guy on call called us back, he told us that it was probably the capacitor and that it would be over $500 to fix - which included the service call. We shouldn't have been charged for a service call, because we are on a maintenance plan. We called again on Monday morning and an estimator was sent out to diagnose the problem. At that point, we decided to go ahead and replace both systems. Our furnace is in the attic, which as you can imagine, is not easy to work on. Two installers were sent on 7/12 and we were told it would take approximately 8 hours to complete the take down of the old systems and installation of the new systems. It was very hot that day, and obviously compounded by working in the attic. My husband said that the two workers took minimal breaks, and then only to hydrate themselves. I believe Jorge was the one that did the furnace install and he kept working until the job was finished. Before the furnace install, they put down tarps to cover and protect the flooring in the house, which I greatly appreciate. Overall, a job well done!

They tried to upsell me for something I didn’t need.

Things went well. Techs were clean and courteous. AC was in perfect working order and they did not pressure me to purchase additional services.

Fine. But I was disappointed in the quote he gave me on a new water softener. Felt it was much to high, and not competitive.

It is the weekend. The downstairs toilet was clogged, and water was to the rim!!! I was trying to be a plumber. Thank goodness I was able to look on Angie's List. The technician, Dean called. He was at a current call, and called on his way. He used some very large snaky device...longer than 5 feet to clean through the pipe the toilet is connected to. Its not fun to see what comes out! After he was done, I asked if we could just flush the other toilets. It was no problem. I did think the charge to use the tool was way too expensive. Service call was only 79.00.

They had to return and clean it again. They said I needed a new sewer line. I was very pleased with their professionalism.

I used the $49 coupon on the website. Glad I did. They came out and snaked the line. They recommended having another tech come out and check the line with a camera and in a few hours he was out and showed me on a video monitor what was causing the blockage. Our main line out to the street is made of clay as it's over 50 years old and was collapsing. He was very informative and gave us different options for repair. Very professional and nice. We'll replace this main line in the near future.

Due to interior AC coil causing a water leak, a Service Plus technician came to service. After only a cursory look at the coil, the technician concluded that, most likely, leaked refrigerant had resulted in the coil freezing during the recent heat wave, and that the leaking water was due to the melting of the frozen coil. I cannot confirm, as I stepped away for about 2 minutes, but I do not believe the technician opened the panel to look at the coil. When we turned the AC on, the leak began again almost immediately (in hindsight, this was an obvious indicator that the diagnosis of a frozen coil was incorrect). When the technician checked the refrigerant level, he reported that it was low; I later found out this was false, so either a mistake or a misleading statement. The technician gave me two alternatives, a "probable" repair cost of about $2000 (this is an old R-22 system) or a new 2.5-ton "bronze" AC system for about $4000. We agreed that at those prices, the full replacement made better sense, but after I hesitated to immediately schedule the replacement, he began to make it a "high-pressure" sale by offering me a "good-for-today-only" price and saying he would wait in the car while I talked it over with my spouse. I declined and chose to get another professional to inspect the coil. The second professional examined the coil more closely and was able to remediate the leak for only $135. When he checked the refrigerant level, he reported that it was normal and did not need recharged (note that the Service Plus technician had reported the levels as low enough to indicate a refrigerant leak). When I called to share this situation with Service Plus, they apologized for the situation and explained that the technician was new to the company. They appreciated the feedback and planned to address the issue. They redressed the bad experience by extending my membership (annual AC and furnace service) for a year, a $99 value. Bottom line: This may have all been the result of a new-to-the-company technician making a few mistakes and/or misrepresenting Service Plus, but it could've resulted in a premature AC replacement and enormous cost to our family budget. Because of the membership they've provided, I will continue to use them for service calls, but I will definitely shop around for any major repairs or replacements.

Technician was punctual, professional, and promptly resolved the 3 issues. Plumbing is expensive in general, but their prices were competitive with others we have used.
