Description of Work: They installed a complex AV system 6 months ago in our house, and there was one DVD/VCR player that quit working after the 90 day warranty. This was a special order unit that was hard to find at the time of installation, but Mike was able to work with the supplier and get it exchanged at no cost despite it being out of warranty. They even delivered it and set it up for no charge.

 + -1 moreTHE SALES REPS WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS, INCLUDING WEAKNESSES. THEY WERE HONEST ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WE MIGHT ENCOUNTER WITH THE VARIOUS TYPES OF TV'S. THEY WERE EXCELLENT AT HELPING US COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE VARIOUS TV'S AVAILABLE. THEIR PRICES WERE HIGH, BUT THEY ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD NEGOTIATE WITH US. WE WENT TO A COUPLE OTHER BIGGER STORES NEARBY TO ASK ABOUT THE TV'S, BUT THE SALES REPS HAD LITTLE KNOWLEDGE AND COULDN'T EVEN ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS. WE ENDED UP RETURNING TO OVATION AND BUYING A 52 INCH DLP FOR ABOUT THE SAME PRICE AS THE BIGGER STORES. WE WERE PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE AND THE DELIVERY WAS GREAT AS WELL. THE TV IS TERRIFIC!

Description of Work: OVATION AUDIO ESSENTIALLY INSTALLED A NEW STEREO SYSTEM FOR OUR HOME. THEY CONSOLIDATED A SYSTEM THAT HAD BEEN BUILT ON TO SEVERAL TIMES OVER ABOUT A 20-YEAR PERIOD. THEY WERE WILLING TO TRY TO USE SOME OF THE COMPONENTS OF THE ORIGINAL SYSTEM, E.G. TURNTABLE AND SOME SPEAKERS, BUT THEY ADVISED ON OTHER COMPONENTS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SYSTEM OPERATES IN OUR FAMILY ROOM, KITCHEN, SUNROOM AND LIVING ROOM AND OUTSIDE ON THE BACK PATIO.

 + -1 moreI REALLY HATE TO GIVE OVATION A BAD REPORT BECAUSE THE PERSON WHO CAME OUT TWICE WAS VERY PLEASANT WHILE HE WAS HERE. HOWEVER, HE REALLY DROPPED THE BALL. AFTER TWO APPOINTMENTS TO ASSESS OUR BUILT-IN STEREO SYSTEM, HE DID NOT RETURN MY PHONE CALLS SO THAT I COULD GET THE ACTUAL WORK I NEEDED DONE SCHEDULED. I TRIED CALLING SEVERAL TIMES, SO IT'S NOT LIKE HE DIDN'T GET THE MESSAGE. I'VE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES WITH RETAILERS WHO DO 'SERVICE.' THEIR ONLY TRUE PURPOSE IS TO SELL, SELL, SELL NEW EQUIPMENT. NOT DO REPAIR OR SERVICE.
