Description of Work: I bought the $200 dollars worth of plumbing service for $100. I had a leaking kitchen faucet and some water leaking under the kitchen sink. The plumber checked all the faucets in the house, looked at pipes in the crawl space and evaluated the leaky faucet. Since the kitchen faucet was older, I bought a new one and the plumber came back on another day to install it and replace a plastic pipe under the kitchen sink. I had to pay a bit more for the actual installation of the faucet and pipe but the #200 was taken off, so I paid a reasonable amount for the repair. The plumber had to turn off the water at my water heater and after he left the water heater started to drip from the overflow pipe, when I called Mr. Rooter they sent the plumber back and had to replace a part in the water heater (our water heater is only 4 yrs old) and there was not a charge. I also purchased a service agreement from Mr Rooter where they will come out once a year to check all pipes and drain the water heater, for a very reasonable price package.

Description of Work: Understood the deal was for two hours of labor. Expected to pay extra for parts etc. However, this was not the case. Plumber would not break down price into parts and labor. Quoted me outrageous prices to make repairs and said the coupon would be subtracted from overall cost. Decided I would consider one part of the repair which was for a new stop/valve(to turn off water at base of one toilet)He said this would be $256 with the coupon subtracted at $200 leaving me a further $56 to pay. The quote actually said the Angie's List discount on this repair should have been $216 but this is not what he told me verbally. The total he had quoted me to replace two stop valves, two toilet fill valves with flapper and a new stop on the drain from a bathtub for a total of $1008. This seemed outrageous. However, I was about to proceed with the fix to the one stop valve and signed to agree to this. However, when we got to the bathroom he repeated three times that there was a 50/50 chance he would break the pipe taking off the old stop valve and that he had no idea what further extensive repair might need done then. However, he did say it could well involve taking out the drywall and replacing sections of pipe.He refused to estimate what the cost of that repair would be. When he repeated the warning three times I felt very concerned that my risk was actually much greater than 50/50 and at that point I made the decision not to let him proceed with anything as we were entering unknown territory with no idea what the outcome or cost was going to be.

Description of Work: Called and set up appointment for 6/3/13. Tim from Mr Rooter plumbing arrived that morning to replace and install our garbage disposal. Completed task and reported no leaks. Paid balance of service fee. However, an hour later undersink area was getting wet from leak coming from the newly installed product. Called the product Company thinking manufacturer defect who sent out their plumber. He reported that leak was due to installation error and fixed the product then. Was charged their fee for fixing issue. Got in touch with Mr Rooter plumbing who over course of couple of days and emails agreed on full refund.

Description of Work: Well, after arranging my errands to accommodate the 11:00 am to 1:00 pm service window I was given, we received a call that it would be close to 1:00 pm. That was okay, but then we received another call at 1:20 pm wanting to reschedule. That was not acceptable. I understand they were busy, but I just needed to move on. I scheduled with another Angie's List provider that I have used in the past.

Description of Work: I just bought a home covered by a warranty and the insurance company sent Mr. Rooter. It wasn't their fault, but the first water heater had a defect. The technician was here until late in the evening. They returned the next day with a replacement and I now have hot water. I am very happy with the treatment I was given and their graciousness. I was not as gracious.

Description of Work: Our kitchen drain was very slow/almost completely stopped. The plumber was able to snake two areas and open the drain. Our home is 85 years old and some of the plumbing is a mystery, but the plumber was able to get it done.
