Recently our 2nd floor master bath toilet has created a leak in the ceiling of the first floor. There have been no indications of problems from the toilet, but there is a leak just below it. Because this bathroom was added just 2 years ago where there was no plumbing before, I called the contractor who did the renovations. The contractor referred me to Mr. Plumber because they did the plumbing. The person on the phone was unable to tell me anything about the warranties on the toilet over the phone and said they'd have to charge $80 for the technician to come look at the toilet unless I had a coupon (which he acknowledged might be found online if I looked). I was hesitant because my last visit from Mr. Plumber hadn't left a positive impression (see previous review), but I agreed because I had no other way of determining whether this was under warranty. The technician who came out immediately agreed that he thought it came from the toilet. Before he even looked at his records, he said that typically labor was only under 1 year warranty, and maybe the toilet itself was under 2 year warranty. He checked out the toilet for 15 minutes and concluded that there was nothing wrong with the toilet above the floor. He said that toilets can shift and break the wax seal and create a leak but he'd not be able to determine that without taking the toilet out. He quoted me $250 or so for that and said it was not under warranty (But that the other possibility was a cracked pipe and it might be under warranty). I said I'd prefer to use someone else and he said he'd write it up and have to charge me for the service call. He spent another 15 minutes writing up the invoice. I tried to use a coupon but it was free service call IF you use them for the repair. Such a nice guy and I felt very at ease in my interactions with him. It's just a shame that I feel the business's practices and policies are so shady. Why couldn't the person on the phone see my records in order to tell me the warranty info prior to a service call? Why didn't they at least offer up that the "standard warranty on labor is one year"? SOMETHING to give me an idea of what I was working with! I'm pretty irritated that "toilets can shift" and I'm left with a leak in my ceiling, but things like that do happen and while I'm not happy about it, I get that it may not be a service providers fault everytime something happens. But I find it pretty inexcusable to hold warranty information ransom and charge someone for a service call to determine that they had bad luck on something that you installed! Most companies would try to salvage the customer relationship by eating the diagnostics charge. And word of warning to contractors: while I really like my contractor, the fact that they used a plumbing company that doesn't stand behind their work makes me question their judgment as well.

They were fine. I was happy and there was no problem. It took a while because it was pretty much chipped out and it just didn't come right off underneath. They came on time, they replaced the faucet, and everything worked. They weren't messy or dirty. They came and did the job, and it was a fair price for what they did. I got the deal and it was about what it cost. They were fine. I just do not have a lot of plumbing needs.
Description of Work: They changed out a faucet. It was a pretty difficult one. It had been corroded and wouldn't come off.

Did not go well!! The first technician (DJ)had an attitude issue and was in sales mode as soon as he arrived. At one point said that the entire house needed re-plumbed. We needed the work done, but did not want this technician in our home. We called to complain and they sent another person out the next Monday to do the repairs. I was made aware that they MUST sell a certain amount per month or they don't keep their positions. The work was completed on a Monday and that afternoon I went In the crawl space to check the work. The repaired area was still leaking. When I called back that afternoon, they said it would be 2 days before they could come back to repair the poor job that they did. I made 3 attempts to complain to management and finally spoke to the plumbing manager. I am not sure they appreciated my feedback. Mr. Plumber was a great company several years ago, but they were recently acquired by a national conglomerate. I am sorry to say that they are not the company that they once were.

Couldn't get at the drain properly from access panel upstairs so unfortunately had to cut a hole in kitchen ceiling which I had to repair myself later. But the work they did was excellent, good quality parts that should last for years. Knew exactly what to do. Had a subsequent problem later that was unrelated (needed caulk around faucet; I mistakenly thought it was related to the earlier repair. Re-caulked neater than I would have, charged only for the service call. I find Metzler's a little pricey but the excellent quality of their work makes them the only ones I'll use. I've recommended them to neighbors as well and they've been extremely happy with their work as well.

It went fine, but I feel like I've been gouged. This was not a big job and I paid 309.00 and that is with 105.00 worth of coupons! I don't have any complaints about the service of the punctuality, but I was between handymen and my shutoff valve was going and my fill valve had stopped working. I could have done without the new flush handle, but decided to get it all done as recommended. I think I have been gouged! I have no idea of what other plumbing companies would charge for this, and maybe I am out of tune with plumbing costs but Wow! Too much! Are they the most expensive company in town?

Service provider was prompt and friendly. However, we believe he overcharged us for this service. Since he didn't have the parts, he had to go back to the shop to get the part. When my husband talked to him about the price, after he completed the service, he said he charged us for drive time and gas, so that he could get back to the shop. This was never discussed. I asked him several times if this was a reasonable price, and he promised me. We've looked into this with other providers and we've found that we were charged WAY TOO much. Next time, I will be getting second estimates!

He was able to do it carefully and fix the leak without breaking anything that could have lead to more charges. He called a half hour before he arrived to let us know when he would be there. He answered all the questions we had. Jason was our tech. He was very professional and made our experience very enjoyable and personable.
Description of Work: Plumbing can be very expensive. He came in and had to fix a drip on a old facet in our bathroom. The facet was from 1992. We also had an old toilet that needed to be check out. He gave us some options of what we could do to replace the toilet and or fix it.

everything went well and was done in record time with no mess. The drain was back in place and working before I realized the job was done. We were able to use the Angie's list coupon for a free service call that saved us $79.00.

Some of their technical equipment didn't do the job they said it would do. They were trying to locate the end of a line and for some reason it didn't work. They were trying to find the location of a blockage and it was inoperable. It was the equipment to locate the actual head. We could see it but they couldn't detect it from above with a detecting device. The drain cleaning was fine.

They were horrible! They did not show up.They were scheduled to come out twice and they were no shows each time. The first time that they were supposed to come, the time frame that they gave us had expired and we called them to see what was going on and they were like 'Oh, sorry we will reschedule it for later in the week", because I was not going to wait around anymore. The day that they had it rescheduled for, they did not even show up and they did not call or anything. They did not even come out and give me a quote. When I called them and they said that they did not want to give me a quote, that was fine. They just needed to tell me and they acted as if they did not even know what I was talking about. Everybody that I talked to on the phone was really polite but they did not even know what was going on. They could not tell me why someone had not shown up, and when I asked them like if they could just even call whoever was supposed to come to my house to find out what happened, they told me that they did not even know who was scheduled to come to my house! They were a no show both times and even when I called them, they acted is if it was OK, and I should just keep waiting. They answered my questions pretty well but they refuses to give me a price range over the phone. I thought that was very odd.

Came out within a few hours. Sent a team in to auger the home's main sewer line. Determined there were roots blocking the line. They cleared those out. They then sent a camera through the line. We have clay tile sewer lines and the roots were penetrating the seams. We also learned there is a dip in the line halfway between our house and the main. The service guy recommended that they replace the clay tile pipe with their "no-dig" process at a cost of around $9600. Other homes in our neighborhood are experiencing total sewer line failure. It's only a matter of time before ours fails. If it fails, the cost of repair goes up to $11,000. Ouch! Unfortunately we need to wait until we can afford to do this...
Description of Work: We had a stoppage in our home's main sewer line, dripping into the storage room in our basement.

The two men were on time, very professional and answered any questions I had about the work being done. This was my THIRD slab since December. If it was not for the recommendation of Mr Plumber to switch around the plumbing instead of just fixing the third leak, who knows how many more slab leaks would happen? I plan on being in my home for a while. It ws a little more in cost, but in the long run I knowI am saving money, I would use this company again.

My sewer lateral was clogged. I called to get the advertised $93 cleaning and camera inspection. The cleaning went fine. The gentleman who did the camera inspection the next day quoted a lateral replacement due to roots for $4700. While writing up the estimate, he asked about my a/c unit. He actually said, "Does that thing even work?" Yea, I know this company sells a/c units, too. This was probably not the best way to open the conversation to up sell me on an air conditioning unit, however, especially when asking for $4700 worth of business in sewer work. I thanked him for the inspection. I knew better than to authorize $4700 worth of work without further investigation. I got 2 other estimates for the root removal and cleaning. I opted for hydro jet cleaning which removed the roots and showed a full camera inspection for $1100. After the hydro jet cleaning, I was advised by the service provider to follow up by putting foaming root cleaner in the clean out every 3 months or so.

Mike and Austin showed up at a great time, had called ahead. They were friendly and professional as well as efficient and knowledgeable. They fixed our problem and gently schooled us on better disposal maintenance. We also enjoyed a very thought provoking discussion about water systems in different areas. Called them for emergency look at sump pump. Initial appointment was cancelled after I waited all day for them. Rescheduled for following Saturday. They finally showed up very late that evening (not within the time promised) and after me calling the company twice to check on ETA. They could not complete the work that they. We agreed on course of action for repair and set April 17 as date for job. After waiting most of the day, they called to notify us they were not going to show up that day. I called back and cancelled the job. I could not continue taking time from work for no shows. Very irresponsible. They clearly have scheduling issues. They were much better before the merger with Comfort Air. They have lost me as customer.

It took him MORE than ONE HOUR to simply write up the cost estimates. Estimates were a real joke, outrageous, ranging from $400 to replace a shower faucet cartridge (ended up nothing was wrong with it)... to approx $2500 for a 40 gallon water heater, new flue pipe, and replacing corroded pipe going in and out of top of water heater.... (new flue pipe was not required)....Technician pushed a new tankless water heater for $5500. I would highly recommend obtaining a couple other estimates before using Mr Plumber for ANY work.
Description of Work: I contacted Mr Plumber for a whole house plumbing inspection as advertised. No inspection was completed by the technician. I showed him the problems, primarily the loss of hot water pressure in all the faucets, and several other small issues such as replacing a garbage disposal. I wanted to know the cause for the water pressure problem.

Several challenges. Below are a list: 1) We had been told the tech would be there between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. We received a call at around 12:15 pm saying the tech should be there in about 20 minutes. The tech arrived at 1:15. Not a huge miss, but still a miss. 2) The tech spent not more than 30 minutes in our home doing the work. He spent more time in his truck getting pricing and writing the invoice. When my wife questioned the amount of the invoice, she didn't get any more detail. 3) After the tech left, we started to do some research about reasonable and customary charges for this work. No new parts were used, only a substance applied to the line. We found that most rates of other providers would include a fee to get to the house and an hourly rate, which should have been around $150 - $200. 4) My wife called on Monday, April 28 (the next business day), explained the situation in detail to Tina and she said the plumbing manager would call us back. 5) By Wednesday, we still had not received a call back, so I called and spoke with Tina. This was at about 3:45 in the afternoon and she apologized and indicated that she would contact the plumbing manager and I provided her with my cell number to use. 6) By Thursday at 1:00 p.m., still no call back so I called Tina again. She had just gone to lunch and I was going into a meeting as asked that she call after 3:00 p.m. At 4:15, still no call back, so I called again. This was a total of 4 calls initiated by us without yet a returned call. I was told by one of Tina's peers that Frank, the plumbing manager, would be calling in just a few minutes. 7) Frank did call almost immediately after I hung up. I shared our experience. He asked what we wanted. I shared that I thought $150 would be fair and he said "it's funny that everyone always says $150". In my opinion, I took this as rather condescending. He also said that he needed to look at the invoice, but the tech needed to dismantle and reassemble the line and that takes time. He committed to returning the call between 9:00 and noon on Friday. 8) Frank did call at about 10:30 and said that he thought we were fairly charged for the work performed, but offered to reduce the cost to $200 due to our experience with getting a response. I told him that would be fine, but that I wanted to cancel our service contract. He indicated that would increase the cost of the service by $40. We have used Williams Comfort Air for years, but only have used the plumbing service for the last few. We will no longer be plumbing customers.
