water heater repair
 + -1 moreNoticed water on the floor, around 3:00 PM. Called, got set up for an 8:00 AM appointment the next morning. Service tech, John, called around 7:30 AM to let me know he was on his way. Our heater was under warranty, and John had to call and find the replacement. He did, and had it back here within the hour. Brought in another tech to help, and gave me a 2-4 hour window to complete the job. They were done in about 1 1/2 hours. They covered the carpet but I saw no water on the plastic covering after; they wore booties every time they came in. They were very neat and professional. The service call was free, thanks to Angie's List coupon, and I joined in a Customer Service Agreement with them, and with the savings, cost me $9.00 for a one year service agreement.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreI noticed water dripping on the garage floor and called for new water heater. They sent out Dustin on the same day and gave me a quote which was competitive. Because of the wet floor, Dustin advised me to let it dry with a fan and returned the next day to install the water heater. He did ask me to build the platform for the new water heater myself to avoid additional cost. We know plumbing is expensive but everyone has to make a living and Dustin did it in a honest way. Overall I feel very comfortable with their service.

 + -1 moreIt was good because they did what they said they were going to do and showed up promptly. It didn't take too long for them to do the work and so far I've had no leaks. It was just expensive to have it done, but I think everyone that I checked on the internet was about the same price.
Description of Work: I had one bathtub shower head and faucet replaced and one other shower stall faucet replaced.

He answered questions I had about my previous work, which they did not charge me for this visit because I did not know if it was related to any work that was done. He also asked if there were any other questions, and addressed some questions I had which was quite helpful. I really appreciated his knowledge and helpfulness.

 + -1 moreThey came to fix a leaky faucet, it took about an hour, then they told me metal hoses would be better than the rubber ones I had because the rubber ones might burst. Then after they left, they called me about 20 mins. later and asked if everything was OK. I thought it was. Then I later realized the faucet was still leaking. I would not recommend this company.

water softeners
 + -1 moreI called Metzler because they serviced the water softener with previous owner of the home we just purchased. This home has been vacant since June 2007 and since inspection companies don't inspect water softeners, I wanted to be sure it was in good working condition. I was also unsure what kind of salt it used. Chris came out, looked it over in and out and found no problems.

He gave me a written estimate, and arranged to do the work 4 days later. Ric came at the proposed time, worked efficiently and professionally. He took time to ask preferences. At the end of the job he left everything clean and tidy.

 + -1 moreAfter the flooding, we found our sump pump had failed and there was 2 feet of water in our crawlspace. No one else even called me back, but Metzler answered the phone and someone was out the same day. They pumped the water out over the next day and installed a new sump pump. They found out what probably caused the original sump pump to fail was the discharge pipe wasn't sending the water where it should. A temporary solution was put in place until a more permanent one could be determined a few weeks later. This experienced turned into a positive one. I am so thankful that they were able to come help us out. Thanks for doing a good job during a really busy period!
Description of Work: Pumped out at least 2 feet of water in the crawlspace, installed a new sump pump and installed a new discharge pipe because the old one no longer worked.

 + -1 moreThe scheduler at Metzler was very accommodating and even told me that there was a better coupon for a free service call via their parent company Williams Comfort Air that we could use instead of the Angie's List coupon. I could not find the coupon (I even called Angie's List for help) but they honored it anyway. We initially set up the two appointments (one to disconnect, one to reconnect), but I had to change them both AT THE LAST MINUTE because of an unforeseen emergency within the countertop people's schedule. Metzler was very accommodating and tried really hard to work with me to reschedule their portion of the work. The plumber they sent was Frank. He was extremely professional and hard working. They could not give me an estimate for the work until Frank saw it because they had no idea what they were getting into. I was a bit bowled over at how expensive the job was ($271.00 for disconnect about 1.5 hrs. with a "free" service call, and $648.00 for reconnect, which included new fittings and under sink piping). Frank did an excellent job and cleaned up nicely behind himself. He also tried to make sure he would be the plumber sent for the reconnect so that he would be familiar with the job. He also saved several fittings and flanges from the disconnect that he could use for the reconnect.
Description of Work: We were having new countertops and sinks installed by someone else (the Maple Group via Home Depot) and needed to have the plumbing disconnected from 2 sinks, a dishwasher, garbage disposal and a reverse osmosis system. We also needed the plumbing reconnected after installation for the same items.

Description of Work: We have used them several times. They came and fixed the sump pump and did some plumbing work for our wells. The sump pump they put in wasn't a good one, but they did replace it when I called them and told them it wasn't working well. It took about 4 or 5 times to get it replaced.

 + -1 moreI was disappointed in arrival time, two hours is not an emergency. I emailed the company for an explanation, told it is determined by location of employee and if at another location prior. They need to be trained to be very specific with customers who call about arrival time.
Description of Work: This was an emergency call on a weekend. I understand that, but had no idea that an emergency call was a two hour turn around time. It was to unclog a toilet in the house. The price of the call was ridiculous. I was shocked, plus the fact my discount, if applicable was not applied. I contacted the company about the 2 hour time frame for the emergency and felt the question was not appreciated.
