 + -1 moreAfter firing the contractor who was finishing our basement, we began to notice gurgling noises and a sewage smell coming from our kitchen sink every time someone flushed the toilet in the basement. We called RV Hallam to investigate. Turns out the plumbing was not up to code. Dustin diagnosed the problem and eventually installed a new vent and a second discharge line. He was extremely professional, considerate of our home and our time and a true pleasure to work with. We'd hire him again in a heartbeat!

water heater repair
 + -1 moreReceived excellent estimate work from Joe Siebert, who asked lots of good questions to understand our needs and suggested alternatives from which we could choose. He emailed a professionally done written estimate early the next day, within the promised time frame. The quote was well under one competitor's price for the same equipment and labor (another competitor came to quote, but never submitted an estimate!). The work was performed by Craig, who was about 15 minutes later than planned, but spent about five hours on the installation (a difficult project due to the larger unit size, new ductwork required to redirect vent gases and piercing an exterior wall to run the vent outside. He called me at work when done and asked for payment, although the estimate indicate 15 day payment terms, but then agreed to leave in invoice instead. However, the invoice had no detail of the labor or product sold (not sufficient for me to file for a utility company rebate program, so I'll have to call the company for a better invoice). He also indicated he would complete the warranty registration process, and took the registration from from the unit to do so. Would be nice to know that I'll receive some confirmation from the company when this is done, so I am assured the warranty is in force. All-in-all, the work was done well and the work area left reasonably clean. We're very happy with the overall experience and would use Hallam again.
Description of Work: Came out within 24 hours to quote a replacement/upgraded gas water heater and new venting duct work to convert to power vent through the wall. Scheduled work within 2 days of being hired.

We appreciated his attention to detail and quality. We have been fortunate in not requiring a plumber for some time so the expense seemed a bit high to us but it was in line with the other estimate we received.
Description of Work: Capped water and drain line that were sticking out of a wall after we removed a wet bar.

 + -1 moreIt went well, the lady on the phone was very nice, she sent someone within an hour or two of calling which was surprising because I'm sure hundreds of other people were dealing with the same issue that morning.
Description of Work: Our pipes froze overnight and we had absolutely no water in the house. They came out to thaw the pipes. They were very prompt but I felt like it was a lot of money just to have someone take a heater against our pipes in the garage. It took him less than 10 minutes probably but the problem was fixed.

Description of Work: Frozen water pipe breakage. Called for emergency service request. I was called back within an hour with a schedule for same day (about a 2 hour time frame). Problem diagnosed. Hole cut in bathroom wall. Pipe section removed and replace and tested.

 + -1 moreI called and they came out the same day. They also called when they were on their way. Eric Dalton changed all the water in the sump pump, but there was not any water in the sensor area. He added the water and advised me to call if I had any other problems or if I needed a new battery. My husband came home and had me call Eric to let him know we needed a new battery. The company called me to let me know Eric would be there at 9:00 am the next morning. Eric called at 7:54 am and let me know he had picked the battery up the night before so he was on his way. Eric apologized and explained he needed to charge $99.00 for the first call, but did not charge any service charge. The sump pump battery was only $537.00. I was so pleased with Eric's work I asked to have him for any future work.
Description of Work: I called them since I was having trouble with my sump pump.

Because of the New Year's holiday it was almost a week before they could do the installation. They were prompt in their arrival and completed the full installation in a very timely manner. Dustin T. was our only contact with the company. He evaluated our situation, made the recommendation, estimate of cost and then did the installation. He is a very knowledgeable young man. We are completely satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Installed a water pressure regulator (because Carmel water pressure is high), an expansion tank and a 50 gal water heater.

 + -1 moreWhen I called, I said it was not an emergency as we had 2 other bathrooms, but would like it repaired within 2 weeks. They scheduled the appt. in 2 days and were able to come at times that we were not at work, so did not need to take time off from work. The bathroom stool & spray attachment were replaced on the first visit. They had to order the filter for the drinking water system & it arrived 3 days after the initial visit, so it required a return visit to replace that. There was no additional cost. While at the house, they checked out the other 2 bathrooms to assure that everything there was fine and removed a drain plug in one of the sinks for me. Very friendly and professional.
Description of Work: Bathroom stool required new fixtures inside. Replaced Kitchen sink spray attachment & filter in the reverse osmosis system.

 + -1 moreEverything went good. THe only thing I will say that could have been done much better was to explain the charges I was being billed for. My water heater was still under warranty, however I really did not understand or it was not explained how that vs labor vs upgrade ( which I was told about, but I did not realize I had received until I saw the receipt). The installer was very friendly and informative about the installation process however. One thing I would recommend is a written estimate prior to beginning work. I did call a few weeks later when I was concerned about lack of hot water. Looks like I possibly should have a larger water heater for my size house...wish I would have known that. But info was helpful. He said nothing was wrong with the actual heater. Still puzzles me a little, because I did not have the issue with the old heater. Very informative and helpful however, and the company did not charge me for the visit. always great to deal with
Description of Work: I had to have my water heater replaced due to failure. I was lucky that they were able to do it the same day. I was clueless on how to deal with the situation prior to them arriving with the water that was accumulating etc. They were very nice to guide me on the phone on how to turn off certain things to avoid any issues I would possibly have prior to someone arriving.

Description of Work: We had a clogged drain and some other miscellaneous items, so I put everything on the same service call. The plumber form Hallam was courteous and did the work promptly. A couple of the items he even showed my husband how to fix instead of having to charge us for a service call. Even my husband agreed he could do it!

Description of Work: Replaced our sump pump because the switch was going bad. We noticed that the water in the sump had gotten very high. The plumber pointed out that the back-up sump pump was not correctly installed, so they went ahead and re-piped that as well.
