 + -1 moreIt took them about 2 days to finish the work. The three guys that were here were really great. They cleaned up well and they were very informative. They were good about answering my questions. The cost was around $8,500-8,900, which I felt was about average. There was a small problem with communication. One day they called and said they would come out and we told them we would not be home. We said we needed more of heads up than an hour or two. After that, scheduling went smoothly. They were on time.
Description of Work: They put a new sewer line in from the house to the street.

 + -1 moreTOO EXPENSIVE!!!!!!, The job was done well but they will not give you a rate over the phone. They quote by jobs and $350 an hour is crazy. I'm sure the little new connection they put in did not cost much. I would have been ahead to pay the $75 service call and get their competitor who charges $144 for first hour to do the job. I will NEVER call their plumbing department again. The tecnician told me their jobs are figured at about $285 and hour!!!!!

 + -1 moreThe fellow who did the estimate was polite and friendly. He gave me good advice on the direction of the remodeling project. But when I asked him how much he would charge for the plumbing part of the job I was very surprised. He said that the work required would be around $600. I was so surprised by his estimate, I checked around and sure enough I found someone who did exactly the same work and did it very well for $200. I have used this business in the past and their work was very well done and was reasonable. I am wondering if the business has changed owners?

Fast service, even faster emptying of my wallet. Steve, the tech, was a true professional, but his employer charges are excessive.

 + 0 moreWe called them and they came out very quickly and diagnosed the problem. They have all the equipments that they needed. We have no problems. They knew what they were doing. The cost was agreeable and they did what needed to be done. We have been very happy with them. We thought the cost was going to be $1,400 but it came in under so that was good. The guys were great. They put in their little booties. They had a name on their shirt and they have their truck there. They went down stairs and checked what was going on. They told us what it was going to be. They had one riser pump on their truck so they didn’t have to come back another day. They were a couple of hours and fixed everything. They were clean and neat. They were professional. They were really friendly our dog. We have no problems with them.
Description of Work: I used Mr. Plumber by Metzler & Hallam to install a riser pump. We had a basement bathroom and there’s a pump on the toilet that brings things up and put some out into the sewer and it was broken and they fixed it.

 + 0 moreThey were super nice, they would come out and check everything and they had a special guy that worked on wine cooler and I like those guys. It has been a while since we used them because we bought a contract with another company to do our plumbing, electric, heating, and air services. I like Mr. Plumber because they seem knowledgeable and willing to help or willing to find somebody that can help. The company that we have a contract with did not have anybody that did wine coolers even though they charged us for maintaining it, but when I called Mr. Plumber, they were prompt in sending out their person who specializes in wine coolers so I just liked that they were more responsive. I liked them a lot. When this contract with the other company is over, I will go back to Mr. Plumber.
Description of Work: We use Mr. Plumber by Metzler & Hallam for plumbing services. They last repaired the refrigeration of our wine cellar.

 + -1 moreI was pleased that I could call them on a Sunday evening and have an appointment within a day or two. My garbage disposal was leaking around the top (where I believe a seal was). The plumber came out and took a look and gave me a quote on 3 different types of garbage disposals. I had purchased the garbage disposal that I had about 10 years ago and the prices seemed very high compared to what I thought I paid back then. Fortunately, he did not have the cheapest one on the truck so we made arrangements for him to bring it the next evening. Curiosity got the better of me and later that day I called Lowe's and asked for the prices on the different garbage disposals. I wish I had the invoice that the plumber had wrote up for me with the 3 different price quotes. The cheapest garbage disposal would have cost over $400, then the price jumped to over $500 and over $700 on the other two. I cancelled the appointment immediately. It didn't matter that he had the $79.00 check of mine for the service call. I went to Lowe's and bought a better garbage disposal than I would have had if Mr. Plumber installed one. And Lowe's charged $110 to have some one come and put it in. Long story short, I paid less buying the garbage disposal at Lowe's and having them come to install it (plus it was a better garbage disposal) than I would have if Mr. Plumber had the cheapest one they quoted me on the truck.

They gave me an estimate for some larger jobs that I needed to have done, but I decided to go with the plumber I had used in the past. They were very nice and explained everything very well. They especially explained the pricing very well and showed the cost of each thing we discussed in an itemized format. I really liked that they did that, and it helped me in my project.

 + -1 moreThey used to be a Carmel firm and they sold out to Westfield. It started with a father who passed and now they are merged with someone else. They son has changed it into a completely different business. They have replaced a good part with a cheap part when they did a service for me in the past. I did not like the last service when they changed a faucet in my downstairs utility room and I did not like the part they replaced it with. I was used to a very powerful faucet and now it is not a strong faucet. It certainly wasn't a terrible repair job. It was just fair.

 + -1 moreMy husband and I had a garbage disposal that went bad, it was cutting up the food and leaking it all over the back and under side of our sink. After we cleaned up the mess, we called Mr Plumber. We had called them out in the past and had mixed experiences. They were fine a few times and then the last time it took 3 different appointments to get a toilet problem fixed because the dispatcher kept sending the wrong people for the job, which was very frustrating. We decided to give them another chance today and called to get a price quote for garbage disposals and they wouldn't give us ANYTHING over the phone. I asked how much it would be if we bought our own and had them install it. Jeremiah said he didn't know. Why would you put someone on the phones who doesn't even know how much you charge for services or installation?! He wouldn't even quote us a range for disposals, he just said it would be $79 for someone to come out and diagnose it and that we'd have to pay the fee if we didn't use them but yet they wouldn't tell me how much it would be if we did use them. Does anyone else think this is pretty backwards?!!? How am I supposed to make an informed decision based on little to no information? Guess I'll be looking elsewhere.

 + 0 moreWe were short on time, so we didn't get to ask for a lot of quotes, but this one was a little more expensive, but less invasive so we chose to go this route. We were also replacing the heat pump system for the house so we worked with their sister company to get all this work done. The process took a few days, but so far, several months in, we've had no problems. Our only complaint is that we were told that the leftover dirt would be spread and re-seeded in the front yard once spring came...however it was not on our original contract. This has posed some problems on getting the work completed. However, they have recently told me that we are on their list, so it should be done soon... we shall see! Overall, a good experience though.
Description of Work: We were purchasing a house which once inspected was found to need a new sewer line from the basement out to the city sewer. Tree roots had damaged an old, thin walled pipe which needed to be replaced. The line was replaced via "pipebursting" which is supposed to be less invasive to your yard, requiring a 36x36 hole at the city connection and a 36x36 hole in the floor of the basement at the house connection. The new pipe was hydraulically pulled from the hole in the basement out to the street through the same area that the old pipe was in.

 + -1 moreAbout a week after we moved into our newly renovated home, the basement drains backed up. I asked our contractor to recommend a plumber and he gave me Hallam. They came and snaked te drain and camera'd the line under the $93 or free program. Great price. But of course found lots of problems. The guy doing the work called his supervisor and they both gave me the hard pressure sales and scheduled an appointment for the next week to replace my sewer line at a cost of $15,000 because we "just couldn't wait". But not knowing much about sewers and not willing to spend that kind of money haphazardly, I started talking with the contractor, my neighbors, friends, and found some other recommendations for companies who all came in at half to two-thirds lower cost, none of which were pressuring me, and who concluded that the line was in a totally different spot than the supervisor at Mr. Plumber located it. That deal is really well worth it, because you can't beat $93 for sewer cleaning, but I would shut your ears to anything beyond that -- ignore th high pressure sales and don't go with them for the big stuff.
