Description of Work: Our hot water heater was leaking (luckily into it's tray) and they came out the same day to check it out. It was unrepairable, and so we sat down and looked at prices for new ones. I had already looked on-line to see how much water heaters were...theirs were a little more expensive, but their cost included all installation and removal of old unit. I know those things are heavy, and ours is upstairs, so the extra money was very well spent. Dustin was my lead contact, and he was very professional and honest. He also cleaned up and shop-vaced all of my old trays upstairs and they put drop cloths down on the entire path from heater to door to keep my house clean. I thanked him for cleaning up my trays so well, and I loved his response!: "If a place doesn't look better than it did when I got there, I haven't done my job right." *sigh* Good customer service makes me melt! Great company, will certainly use again if needed!

Description of Work: On Friday April 17th I called Mr. Plumber to repair water line leaks that I found when turning on the water after returning from vacation. They had a service man at my home within an hour and he replaced a 3/4 ball valve on the main and then repaired 4 busted pipes on copper. Since it was late Friday evening after the above repairs and there were still leaks to be found and repaired the service man left per my agreement and returned on Monday morning to continue with the job. Two more copper lines were found and repaired plus replacement of the soft water by pass which was leaking and he replace two SS laundry hoses in my laundry tub which also were leaking. I was very impressed with the expertease of the service man in finding the leaks and repairing them. I would definitely call this company again .

Description of Work: Had a leak that soaked the drywall in two locations Dustin came out and located the leaks in 30 minutes or less. 4 of our four toilets were leaking to some extent. Three could be easily repaired, and the fourth needed to be replaced. It was an obsolete type and could not be repaired so we opted for replacement. This was done in a timely manner, and to our satisfaction.

Description of Work: We had called another company about our basement lift station pump since they had installed it only a year ago and it had stopped working. They were unwilling to offer any type of solution except a new pump at $1,300. We called Hallam and were given an estimate of $950 for the repair, so we scheduled the repair. The worker showed up on time and with the needed parts. He quickly discovered the problem was not the pump but simply a clog in the in-flow pipe. He quickly cleaned it out and all was fixed in under an hour. The Hallam plumber cold have easily replaced the pump and collected another $800 for his company. We will use Hallam for all our future plumbing needs and our previous plumber has lost a customer.

Description of Work: Found a leak under bathroom sink one morning. Plumber arrived early that very afternoon, identified source of small leak as behind the cold water turn off valve in an old connection but was able to fix it without cutting into the bathroom cabinet and wall. Fixed the leak promptly, politely, professionally. They always wear booties in the house, clearly explain the problems and options, fix it and clean up after themselves. Showed me the worn out part afterward. Not sure they are always the least expensive option but know that the work they suggest will be needed and done correctly. It's worth it for that peace of mind.

Description of Work: My husband called this company to look at a wet spot in our basement. On the phone the company told him they charge a $30 estimate fee. One of the employees came to our house that afternoon. He did not introduce himself at the door, the only way I could identify him was by the van he was driving. He went into our basement and observed our area of wet carpet. Then he went outside, looked at our downspout, put his ear to our well, went back into the basement and looked into the sump pit. He then stated he had no idea where the water was coming from and that we should contact a flood/ drying company to measure the moisture in the walls. Then he told us it would be $65; $30 for the estimate and $35 for the diagnostic testing. He didnt do any diagnostic testing, he didnt help us find the source of the leak and consequently we felt ripped off. He didnt even do a estimate, so I dont see how he could even charge for that!

Description of Work: We had a small leak in both sides of water intakes of our ancient bath tub. John tried to fix it 3 times without redoing the entire tub. The 1st time we were charged for a basic house call. The 2nd time was FREE! The 3rd time he rebuild the intakes. No leak, no huge remodel, just super service! We don't have to look for a plumber. We have one: Metzlers!

Description of Work: This plumber came out to give me 2 estimates for work. The first estimate was to remove an old toilet and install a new toilet that I provided. Also, we had a bad valve that needed replaced from the wall to the toilet. He quoted me $319. WOW. I went with another plumber who only charged me $62 with my Angie's list discount and he did an awesome job. The second quote was to replace to outside hose bibs. He wanted $280 each for 2 of them. The other plumber will do it for $300 for both of them! This company is very overpriced. I could not comment on their work, but I do not get it! Estimate was $319.
