Mr Plumber by Metzler & Hallam

Twenty minutes for the person (Mr. Plumber) do paper work, one second to turn off valve and one minute to cap gas line... and was charged $179.00. when the new cook top came the gentlemen said he would have done it for nothing. The electric contractor who came to connect cook top was here for an hour and half and only charged $60.00.. Note: I have been told by several trades personal I was taken for as a chump. (Well live and learn)

If you want your wife to be lied to and to be gouged on price and ignored when you call them to talk about it, you should hire Mr. Plumber. We called Mr. Plumber to repair a small leak in our icemaker supply line. My wife was at home with my daughter and I was out of town. I feel that the plumber was trying to take advantage of her lack of knowledge about plumbing. The leak was from a coupling that was accessible (not behind any drywall and at eye level on the wall in the unfinished portion of our basement). The plumber (Craig) walked down the stairs, took a look at the issue and within a minute started talking about the fact that he was going to need a special tool to fix the leak and that "no one in their company has the tool". He stated that he was going to have to drive over an hour and a half to get the tool - if he could find it at all. He proceeded to go out to his van for roughly 30 minutes (he had to see if he could find this special rare tool) and then came back in the house and proceeded to tell my wife that the repair would cost $520 as a result of the special circumstances involved in getting the tool and performing the repair. My wife called me and handed the phone to him - when he told me the story, I could not believe what I was hearing. There was nothing "special" about the repair that needed to happen - he knew it and I knew it. I declined the repair and was required to pay this guy $68 to come out to my house and attempt to gouge us on the price and lie about the situation. I called a friend who had some experience in plumbing, described what was needed and he laughed and told me that I could get everything I needed at Lowes (less than a mile away). I watched a video on youtube on how to crimp fittings on pex pipes, went to Lowes and bought the tool and fittings (they had lots of both as this type of tool is required EVERY TIME you work with this very common type of plumbing) and with no plumbing experience whatsoever, did the repair in 20 minutes. If my wife hadn't contacted me, this guy would have abused her trust and taken advantage of her. This has to be against the law somehow. But it gets better- I was so incensed that I called Mr Plumber to let them know that their tech was ripping people off and they said that there were no manangers to talk to - they would have to call me back. They never did. So I called again the next day, was told the same thing and no one ever called me back. I waited over the weekend and called again on Monday, was told the same thing and they never called me back. This can only lead me to the conclusion that Mr. Plumber's ownership and management is supportive of their plumbers attempting to rip people off. Wouldn't you call someone back if you weren't? To date, they have never called me back and I doubt that they ever will. I see on their other unfavorable reviews that they apologize for not meeting their customer's expectations, but ignoring your customers when they call you three times and trying to take advantage of people that don't have the knowledge to know better are inexcusable and indicative of a company that is just trying to get away dishonest business practices.

On November 1st of 2013, I was out of town and our neighbor, who was looking in on our dog, looked at the sump pit, as it was raining and storming. He called me and reported that the pit was almost full. I called Mr Plumber by Metzler?s Plumbing (owned by Williams Comfort Air) and explained the situation and told the customer service representative that I thought my outflow, from the sump pit, was clogged in the yard. The pump was running but not emptying the sump pit. I explained I had just installed a new sump pump in the spring and my back-up wasn?t working either. He said he would send a ?drain guy? as it sounded like a drainage problem. I agreed and was somewhat relieved that I could have this done, late, on a Friday. I spoke with the Mr Plumber/Metzler?s Plumbing person they sent out. It turned out, he explained, that both of my sump pumps had failed. He stated that a new pump was in order and that would take care of the situation. I?m 200 miles way and needed this fixed. I took his word for it and told him to go ahead. The sump pump ended up costing me, along with a shoe horned ?warranty? almost $800.00 - WOW! The following few weeks after, my new MP sump pump failed. I went out and dug out the outflow pipe myself and got the pump working again. The pipe then filled in again a month later and the sump pump quit again. Since it had gotten really cold, I took my ?old? sump pump that was supposedly broken, attached a water hose to it and sent the sump pit outflow into my basement shower drain. It has worked efficiently for the last 5 months. MP also cut out my backup pump and left all pipes and cuttings in my utility room. To date, I have called Mr Plumber - By Metzler?s Plumbing 6 times to remedy this situation. I was handled very compassionately by all CSR?s. They stated on three different occasions, for three consecutive weeks that the person who handles quality assurance, etc., would contact me. She never did. To date, May 8th, it has been 6 months since I first called with my concern. No effort has been made to rectify this situation. I am no longer a loyal customer. UPDATE: I have not heard from the "Plumbing Manager".

I chose #2. The concrete was cut without using a wet saw and the smoke alarm upstairs was activated due to the amount of dust throughout the house. There are varying degrees of concrete dust throughout most of our home now. New supply lines were installed that angled out approx. 9"from the wall creating a trip hazard. concrete trench was patched and we determined that the hot water did not work in the master bath sink/shower. I was then told that option 1 would be necessary to access the previously abandoned pipe that was the original leak. Another plumber (Shannon) came out to inspect the work and he stated that additional concrete would need to be removed to find a T'd pipe to re establish hot water to the master bathroom. This would cost an additional $1000.00. Rather than remove and bear the cost of taking duct work off the furnace I relied on the "expertise" of the company I had hired. So we agreed we would not take the duct work apart and try to find the pipe with more concrete removal. This morning a HVAC person called to tell me he was on his way to remove the duct work. I told him he was not what was agreed on and subsequently called mr. plumber, cancelled any further work and told them they could send people to pick up there equipment and the check for $1946.00. Two gentlemen showed up and cleaned the work area as well as they could. It will still need professional cleaning to address clothes in closets, linens on beds, and wall/ counters etc. It could have ben avoided had they used pipe locating technology that plumbing companies small and large either use, or have access to. I am astounded that this company enjoys an A+ rating with your list. Terrible work that left my home filthy and necessitates hiring another plumber to establish water service to my master bath, which was working prior to mr. plumbers work. I have sent mr. plumber the comment card provided after payment. Never again.

We had him out the same day that we purchased the big deal. We haven't had him out since, but it was a good visit. We had a new bathroom put in, and it had to all be redone. We had Mr. Plumber look at the work to be redone. They did a great job, and they were punctual to our appointment.

We discovered a major water leak on Sunday afternoon and within 1 hr, a technician (Jason Hiatt) from Mr. Plumber had arrived at our home. He quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to make the needed repairs on the same day, despite this being a fairly major repair. Jason was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Prices for the work to be done were all quoted in advance and the work did not exceed the quotes. I would highly recommend Mr. Plumber to others and will definitely use them again myself if the needs arises.

Replacing sewer lines is a common repair in my neighborhood of 80 year old houses. This was not an urgent project and I had one month from getting estimates until the work started. Though I had other estimates, Mr. Plumber's pipe bursting bid was more suitable to my job. This was because my sewer line exited my house under an elaborate deck and ran next to two mature trees. A more typical trench job would have required removing the deck and probably would have resulted in killing the trees. The crew showed up a little late and their office was confused about whether they were coming at all. But once they went to work everything went well, until it didn't. The street work uncovered an old, unmarked gas main that ran through the storm drain. Digging the street hole broke the storm drain, which brought out Citizen's Energy to assess the situation. I was very impressed by Citizen's response. Within hours they had more trucks and people in my street than I ever expected, and the problem was solved quickly and responsibly by them, taking about 1/2 day. However, due to the locations of the gas pipe and storm drain in the street, I had to authorize adding a hole in my yard so the pipe bursting could be done from it. This cause another delay of about 1 day, and added about $2000 to the cost. Once this hole was dug and the sewer was opened, work proceed quickly and completed in a reasonable amount of time. The street, yard and basement holes were closed cleanly and completely. They also replaced my kitchen sink line (which was heavily corroded) and repaired a section of sidewalk (because I asked). Overall the project took four days instead of the two days in the estimate, and cost about $15000 instead of $13000. It has a 50 year transferable warranty. I was pleased by Mr. Plumber's people. Their skill and professionalism were outstanding. Their office staff could do better communicating what work is scheduled and when it will start.

Our basement flooded and I left work. On my way home I called Mr. Plummer and told them the situation. They said they would send somebody out ASAP. I got home and immediately received a call that they were on their way. Once there, they assessed the situation and determined that our sump pump was not working. They gave me a number of options for replacements, complete with warranties. They put the new pump in and made sure it was working properly. They also walked me around to show me what the problem was and how the sump pump worked exactly. Additionally, the told me the advantages and disadvantages of each option without any high pressure sales. It was a fantastic experience and I will be using them again!

Excellent service. The price was a little steep but when it comes to your home, you can't afford to be cheap!

The night before the appointment they called to push back the appointment. Then on the day of the appointment they called again to delay. He was here at most 90 minutes and I had a coupon to take of $79.68. The repair went fine but I feel they were extremely over priced.

I have a love/hate relationship with Mr. Plumber and Williams Comfort Air. They are very expensive, but they do great work and their technicians are always nice and clean and not scary. We had a couple leaky shut off valves under our sink, the plumber arrived on time and had the job completed in under an hour. We did have an issue once it was all hooked up later that day - the water would spray out of the connection when turning the valve on/off. We called and wanted them to come out that same day or the next day (this was a Friday) seeing as the issue was their fault. They would not come out until Monday because it was not an emergency (the water was not leaking and we were able to use the faucet). I guess I felt they should have come back out since it was an issue with their work. But ultimately it wasn't a huge deal and the same guy was out on Monday and fixed the problem in under 5 minutes, with no additional charge. He did say that the office told him our water had been leaking all weekend and we couldn't use our faucet, whic is silly because if that were the case they should have come out over the weekend because that would have been an emergency by their definition. Oh well. Like I said, they do good work, but they are very expensive. So far we've stuck with them because of the quality of their work, despite the high cost. You get what you pay for!

Great. Steve first snaked a line in the house, but it not clear out the problem. Brought in the "big" snake and did the line to street. Problem solved.

My wife and I thought it would be an easy job to remove a leaky shower faucet cartridge and replace it with a new one. Our house is about 12+ years old and we had the hardest time getting the old valve section out. It had adhered to the side of the brass pipe. We talked to another plumbing company who suggested that we try to wedge a couple of screw drivers on each side to get it out (which did not work). Finally we called Mr. Plumber and Mike was nice to call us right back. He had experience with this type of Delta faucet and ran into the same problem we were having. He said to NOT USE A SCREW DRIVER and suggested that we try and chip away at the plastic covering on the valve. After a few hours of working at this, the old piece finally came out. We inserted the new cartridge to finish the job only to find out that the brass collar would not thread back on to seal the cartridge. We called Mike at about 10PM and even though it was Sunday, he told us he would head our way to see if he could help. He arrived about 11PM and worked for an hour to get a secure fit. Unfortunately, because of bad advise from the other Plumber, we will eventually have to have a new brass pipe installed ($800-900). Also the other Plumber said he would have to charge us $250 if he came out. Mike at Mr. Plumber charged us $79 for the service charge, Extremely reasonable! We now have a workable shower for our girls! When calling this Plumbing company, ask for Mike , he was fantastic!!

It didn't turn out to be a very big deal because it was for a water heater flush and plumbing inspection. The guy did the plumbing inspection just fine but he couldn't do the water heater flush because I have a tank-less. I actually talked to the people there before and asked them if they service tank-less but apparently, my tank-less was an older version and didn't have the service ports on it. So it ended up being about $360 to install the service ports on it so I can get my unit flushed. But the job was very nice when they came out and did the service. They did it quickly and did it well. The thing is, at the end of that, I wasn't sure if I actually got the flush that was promised in the beginning because I asked the guy if it'd flush and he said, "Oh, I did better than that. I left the chemical running in it for a while." So I actually clean out the internals and now my water heater seems to be on the blink again and I don't know it it wasn't serviced correctly or it was just going out.

15 minutes of work. And got sold a maintenance agreement

Utilizing an Angie's List coupon for a free service call with repair, I called due to a leaking 2nd floor shower pan. The master shower was leaking water from the 2nd floor into a room on the 1st floor. Plumber came and examined the shower determining that what was needed was to remove existing caulk and to re-caulk, for which he referred another company. That was a relief as I had thought it could have been much more complicated. He then recommended a 'whole house inspection', normally costing $100 but Angie's list had a coupon for $50.00. Hoping that we wouldn't have any more plumbing surprises, I bought it. I then asked him to insert a hand-held shower head which I had purchased onto a spigot which had a stationery shower head. He replaced it after about 10 minutes labor, charging approximately $150.00, stating this was a discount because I had bought the whole house inspection package. During the 'whole house inspection' he spent time in the basement talking on the phone with friends. He also began calling me "Hon"; I could easily be the age of his mother. This was very disrespectful, and he did not catch himself or seem to realize that he was being disrespectful. Due to cost and lack of professionalism i will hesitate to use this company again.

The service was amazing. They were on time, fast and clean. They also were helpful and got the job done.

I was quoted $8280. I paid. Work hadn't started yet. I asked the salesman (by text) how many feet of pipe so as to compare prices with other companies and with prices in articles on the web. I was told 60 feet of pipe by the salesman. Okay, average range is from $80 to $125 per foot. This salesman's quote is $138 per foot, but hey, they are an A on Angie's list with awards - so I thought they were worth it. One of the employees who installed the pipe came back with the work order for me to sign. He said they'd installed *40* feet of pipe. What? I paid $207 per foot. Over DOUBLE the average cost! I tried to get responses about the lie from Mr. Plumber by calling many times over 72 hours. I got to tell my story to many people, but no one cared enough to call me back with even compassion. The work was finished in two days (Tuesday). It is Friday and nobody has been back to place the toilet after the drying of the concrete. The earliest they can come is Sunday....

Everything went well with them and I would definitely use them again. Brandon was the guy that we worked with and he was just a nice guy. He was personable, friendly, and got the job done well.

He was a nice gentleman. He's been to my home before. I was very satisfied both times.

Plumber went fine. They were fine, explained everything for me, and I was set aside. They were competent and did a good job.

The plumber took pictures on his phone of the piping in our crawl space, shared them with me and explained in detail what needed to be done. He was very courteous and professional. It took approximately 4 hours to finish the job.

They did fine work, they always do.

It was great. They just came and did the service.
