It took him about 2-1/2 hours to fix a drain. He had to leave to get a part and then returned. He also used a silicone caulk to caulk around the bathtub/shower fixtures and then around a toilet for us. Drain is running well when he left. But no one uses the shower very often, so I hope it runs well when our son gets home from college in May.

They were extremely backlogged they said when I called on Saturday and couldnt come until Tuesday. Other than that and understanding prioritization, they were great. They called to confirm what was wrong, asked diagnostic questions, and confirmed the replacement size needed. When they arrived they brought a new heater, pulled the old one out, modified the stand and exhaust to the proper code (previously poor installation from another contractor), and even snaked the lines to make sure no clogs existed. They used new eco-friendly flex pipe and were done in 2 hours. I would recommend them again.

Our sump pump died on Saturday morning. I called Hope Plumbing at 10:30 and by 11:30 they were they to fix the issue. The service we received was exceptional and I would call them again in the future if we need a plumber.

I was remodeling a kitchen and bath just before Christmas. I had several things to complete, including a new toilet installation, before a planned Christmas Eve gathering and realized I was running short on time to make things functional and presentable. On 12/22/09, I contacted Jack Hope and explained my situation. Because of the time of year, I was worried that I may have waited too long to try and schedule a toilet installation on such short notice with the time constraints involved. Jack checked the work schedule and said there was a spot available on 12/23/09. The next day! On 12/23/09, Jack and Brad, his business partner, arrived on time to install the toilet. Twenty minutes later, the toilet was installed and functioning. Jack and Brad thoroughly cleaned the work area and hauled away all of the packing trash so we didn't have to deal with it. I do most of my own remodeling work and am very particular about how things are done. I have to say that Jack and Brad exceeded my expectations in terms of job knowledge and professionalism. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again if the need arises.

Called Sunday evening and spoke with Jack who was able to provide me a quote to install a new water heater and dispose of our current one. After calling other companies called them back that evening and set up a time for the next day. They called about an hour before arriving to allow enough time to get home from work. Arrived at scheduled time, uninstalled current water heater and installed new water heater in about an hour. We found out our basement was flooded with about 4 inches of water at 10:30, by 11:30 they were here working on the problem and by 12:30 most of the water was gone and the problem had been fixed. They shifted around appointments to come work on our emergency situation, which we greatly appreciated. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about what was going on. After they figured out the problem and had the water draining they were very honest letting us know our options and the cost of each option. We will definitely us them in the future.

We were very pleased with Hope Plumbing. They arrived on time, assessed the problem, cleared the drain, were professional, answered our questions, and gave us tips on preventative maintance. We will use them again and will recommend them to others.

There was no gas leak. I was just moving things around. I am not sure how to grade the price. I would use this company in the future.

They came out about a month ago and did the work. They ran the roto rooter or the grinder pump through the drain and cleared it up.

Did a great job in far less than common circumstances. I have a cork floor that is 50 years old. Now it looks almost new.

Our 14 year old water heater finally gave out on us early AM of 3/2. First thing in the AM, I researched replacement options (mainly Angie's list, thank you). Hope Plumbing was one of three companies I had narrowed my search to. I was leaning hard towards a tank-less water heater, until I read a Consumer Reports article that bashed them. At 8:30AM I called Hope Plumbing and spoke with Brad. I asked his opinion of tank water heaters vs. tank-less systems. He was pretty much in-line with what I read in the Consumer Reports article. I thanked him for the info and let him know I was awaiting a couple of other quotes. Around 11AM, I called Hope Plumbing back (as the other quotes I was waiting on hadn't called back yet). I left a message that I'd like to have them do the job. I quickly received a call back from the owner, Jack Hope. I let him know the situation. He thought they could fit me in that day. In addition to the water heater, I had a wake to attend that evening and a funeral on the next day. If Jack had not of been able to work me in, we would've had to wait until Friday (two days later) to schedule to have the job done. Jack was responsive to my situation, said they'd be picking up a water heater and would get to me in the afternoon. Jack called me back around 4PM, saying they were on their way to my home. 4:20PM Jack and Brad arrived. They immediately went to work draining and removing the old water heater. 5:30PM, Jack and Brad were out the door. The job was initially said to take about 2 hours +. They knocked it out in an hour & 10 minutes. Job completed perfectly. We had hot water once again. We'd not be late for the wake. REALLY appreciate the effort to get this job completed for us with quickness. In addition to a $75 coupon on Angie's List, Jack and Brad gave me paperwork for a tax credit (will get $270 off with a Government 30% tax credit on my 2010 taxes) and a form for a $50 rebate from Citizens Gas. So , my $975 bill ended up being $580 (after the coupon. tax credit and rebate). AWESOME!!! I would definitely recommend/use Hope Plumbing for any future plumbing needs. I'd also like to recommend them for the POH. Very thankful for their prompt service, effort, integrity and honesty.

They disposed off the old heater. They were prompt, courteous, clean, and quick. They cleaned up well. There was no mess. I can't rate their price because I didn't shop too much.

Wonderful. Called them at 12:00 noon, they were at our home by 4:15 PM, and were gone by 6:00 PM. Price paid was the same price I paid 8+ years ago for a new water heater.

They scheduled the appointment for the next day after I called. I was quoted on the phone an initial estimate of $144 if they would have to snake the pipe to clear the clog. When they arrived in the window of time provided the plumber noticed that the clog didn't require the snaking and he was able to quickly vacuum out the drain. After checking the drain by running water to ensure it was cleared, he cleaned up after himself and said the price was only $98. The plumber was pleasant and easy to talk to and I would use Hope plumbing again.

I called and Jack and Brad came to my house the next day. They were punctual and pleasant to talk with. They examined both toilets and came to the conclusion they were cheap toilets that builders install when they build a house. They gave me my options and I chose to have them replaced. They went and got the toilets and installed them and the project was completed in a matter of two hours from when they came to my house. This was excellent service and they were very reasonable in price. I had to leave before they were done and had no reservations about leaving them alone in my house.

Jack and Brad squeezed me in for a quick appointment Monday morning, showed up on time, performed all work quickly and professionally, were nice to my dog and two cats, and charged exactly what we had agreed on. They didn't hesitate to crawl under the house despite the 9% weather, and they persisted without complaint until they got both jobs done correctly. They also left a small tool and a suggestion re how I could probably use it to loosed my disposal should it ever get stuck in the future. This is something no other plumber has done, and could have save me expenses in the past. I'll call them again.

Very good experience. Jack and Brad were polite, efficient and helpful. They came to survey the job and gave an estimate. They offered to take care of the entire stove installation, called to make sure everything was ready and cleaned up the place after they were done. I will definitely use them again for plumbing problems.

We have used Jack Hope on several occasions now. He came highly recommended by my husband's co-worker, and I couldn't be more pleased with the services! Jack is the best plumber I've ever used. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about his profession, but he is most pleasant to deal with, and always prompt! I will never use another plumber.

Our kitchen sink was clogged. I called a plumber and had them come out. He had old/faulty equiptment and it took him 4 hrs. to snake the line and eventually ended up cutting the line in 3 seperate places and spilling disgusting water/sludge all over my basement walls and flooring. He charged me $350 and stated that he gave me a discount because I was his "helper" the entire time....This was NOT Hope Contracting!!! The drain was again clogged 2 weeks later. I called Jack Hope and he was at my house with his assistant within the hour! Jack and his assistant snaked the line properly this time and the drain was functioning within an hour. Jack then gave me an option. Since he could not confirm why it had clogged again, he basically told me that it would not be wise to use the garbage disposal any longer. This was not an acceptable option for me. I asked what else could be done. Jack told me that the best solution to use the garbage disposal again would be to replace the existing 1 1/2" pipe with new 2" pipe. This would compensate for the very long run of pipe with multiple turns. He again told me that this would not be required, but was an option. He quoted me a price of $350 to do all of the replacement of the pipes and this was after he had already snaked the drain. Jack and his assistant got the new pipe and replaced all of the old in approximately an additional 2 hours. They were kind and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and the job. I didn't hear any "off color" language at all. No cigarettes being smoked or left on the ground. He stuck to his price the entire time and was pleasant to be around. Jack went above and beyond his requirements by spending an additional 30 minutes or so reinstalling the ceiling tile in the basement that the first plumber had removed. I certainly didn't expect this at all, but did really appreciate it! I have used several plumbers over the years and have not had too much success finding any of them that were "outstanding". Jack Hope is OUTSTANDING! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing any plumbing services! Thanks Jack, I will call you again!

When Jack came out to give me the estimate all was going fine until we went inside for him to look at the kitchen sink. I opened the back door and wasn't quick enough grabbing the dog. Out she went thinking Jack was an intruder. I was afraid he would not come back to do the work. I did have to reschedule the work out a month to save up more money after my car broke down again. Jack and his assistant showed up on time, and I was able to cage the dog so no attacks happened. The assistant worked on removing the food disposal and installing the new drain and pipes. My cat was very curious about what was going on under the sink since I don't let her under there. Jack's assistant didn't seem to mind my cat wanting to "help." Jack worked on my outside faucet that the previous owner had the outside faucet at ground level which made it inconvenient to hook/unhook a hose without injury to my hands and knees. He placed the new faucet higher up so I no longer have to be on my knees to hook the hose up. Because the previous owner had the old faucet going through stone and set in cement, Jack disconnected everything to it and removed the outside handle rather than breaking out the cement to remove the old unit. This meant I didn't have to hire someone to fix the gaping hole that would have been left. It's been 2 weeks and the new pipes under the sink do not leak, and it has been such a pleasure to turn the outside faucet on without being on my hands and knees battling to get the hose connected or disconnected. I would definately use Hope Contracting again.

Great! He was prompt, pleasant, reasonable and he was even sweet to my preschooler daughter who developed quite a crush on him. When one of the fittings to a pipe he hadn't had to fix developed a leak, he sent someone right out to fix it and didn't even charge us. The plumbing work was great and very reasonably priced for the length of time it took to do the job!

Jack was very professional and VERY knowledgable. He was neat and cleaned up after his work. I truely feel he was honest. We had received a quote from a very well known plumbing company which seemed unreasonable to us. I contacted Pat Sullivan who recommened Jack Hope. We could not have been happier with the services provided by Jack Hope. He will be our plumber for ANY future needs!

He was able to fix the problem the next day, and was professional and helpful throughout the process. Jack showed up on time, did excellent work, and finished as promised. The sewer line worked like new after completion, and he was even considerate enough to keep me updated on his progress. He was able to complete the work without damaging my new kitchen, and had to work around the water heater in the basement, which turned out to not be a problem for him. Jack was pleasant to work with and did a great job, I would use him for any repairs or plumbing upgrades in the future!

Jack made what could have been a nightmare job into a pleasant experience. I was seriously concerned upon learning that my main exterior sewer line had collapsed, and a new drain pipe had to be installed. Jack fully explained the process and the potential issues that could arise. His estimate was lower than all others I compared it to, and his willingness to fully explain the options made me comfortable working with him. Although a major project, he was able to start two days after the intial estimate. His excavator was clearly a pro, doing tremendous work with a backhoe. When a potential problem arose, Jack immediately contacted me and fully explained the situation. He was able to fix the problem, and although the additional hurdle cost him several hours of additional work, he still honored his original estimate. After completion he fully explained how to maintain the new drain pipe to ensure that no further clogs or collapses occurred. I first worked with this contractor in relation to a home warranty company, and decided to use him again based upon that work. The house where he did the work is an older home, and I after my experience I intend to have Jack remodel the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as a new bathroom installation I have been considering!
