 + -1 moreGarbage disposal was dead. I contacted home warranty company on 10/25/2010 who assigned Hope Plumbing to do the repair. They called to set up a date and time. They ended up changing the time a couple of times, but gave me warning that they were running late due to other jobs. They then briefly checked the old disposal and installed a new one in about 45 minutes.

They provided an estimate within an hour (which was better than the sears online quoted price btw). They were able to do complete the job same day. Very nice guys, and would use again.

 + 1 moreI spent around $3500 on that work. I liked the price. The guy was pretty responsive and they showed up and did a good job. I had a small problem and when I called them they were out the next day. They thought what the problem was and fixed it. The tankless water heater is gas and creates condensation and the pipe they had was not draining properly. It did not work after that and he had told me that he would call back in a couple of weeks and check if it was working properly. He did not call then and 2 weeks ago, he called and I told him that it was not working and I have not heard from him since. I have been draining the water into a bucket right now. So he has my money now and he has not followed up on the work. The price was ok, the job was fine but his follow up was not that good. I will get a quote from him again because his price was good but if his price is close to someone else, I will go with someone else.
Description of Work: I used Hope Plumbing in January this year to install a tankless gas water heater, a water softener and ran a gas line to the new gas stove.

Description of Work: They looked at our plumbing connection to diagnose our low hot water pressure in our shower. While they were not able to fix the problem, they cleaned out what they could, advised that we had old, small pipes,and provided an estimate to replace our plumbing. When I mentioned that we were thinking about re-modeling, they told me that I should absolutely wait until that time because it would make the replacement much easier.

 + -1 moreHope Plumbing might of had good intentions in trying to fix my problem. However, after being told that the furnance installer would fix problem with their equipment under a service contract,I think Hope should have left it to the original service installer and saved me the time, money and trouble of correcting their non repair.
Description of Work: We had standing water in our basement and I thought it was coming from our water heater so I thought I needed to call a plumber. I was very concerned because I saw that water was entering or inside the base of our two year old furnance. I did not have any plumber favorites so I picked Hope plumbing by chance. After calling and arraigning for Hope to come out I had gone back down into the basement and then discovered that the water was in fact coming from the furnance. It seems the drain on the condenser was plugged and water had back-up and was overflowing out of the condenser pan. When Hope arrived they agreed that this was the issue. I told them that the furnance people would probably cover this under my service contract. Hope suggested that since they were here they could quickly remedy the problem. I agreed that the sooner the drain was clean the better as not to damage the furnance. Hope immediately focused on the drain tube that was outside the furnance and running along the floor to the floor drain. Long story short, the drain tube stepped down in size just before the outlet and Hope was sure this was the cause of the problem. Indeed when they took it apart there was some debris there. Hope said there you go the furnance will drain now and charge me about $110.00 for the service call. After they left I went down to the basement and determined the drain was still not working and called the furnance people ( Broadripple Heating and Coooling) they opened up the furnance at the condeser and fixed the problem at no charge. I then called Hope and told them that there repair was short sighted and did not fix the problem. I suggest that they refund a part of their fee. They were good enough to send me a check for $40.00

 + -1 moreAfter running the dishwasher one evening, we noticed that the drain in the basement had backed up with water and partial sewage. It appeared that we had complete blockage of our sewer line somewhere. As usual with our house work, we checked out Angie's List to find the best company for the job. Hope Plumbing had received great reviews and was only a mile or so from our house, so we called them at around 11 pm. They actually answered the phone at this hour and said they could probably come out before Noon the next day. Their responsiveness on the phone was impressive as they had to endure about 3 more calls from us concerning the cleaning, their availability and the number to call when the service was to be performed. On a couple calls, we were handled by the owner himself. The next day, they came out at around 11:30 and had the job done within an hour. Jack, the owner, and his assistant were very professional and got right to work taking care of the job. Fortunately, all we had was some root blockage and it was a quick job. They also recommended future treatments to prevent such an issue. No trying to sell us on regular cleanings from them. They had a standard cleaning rate of $198 and we were happy to pay it for prompt service. When we need plumbing services in the future, Hope will definitely be #1 on our list.

Description of Work: I asked for an estimate to clean out 2 bathroom drains. They came out and tested the main bathtub drain, and said it was running fine, suggesting instead a different drain stopper. They then checked the guest shower, and told me that although it could be snaked for maintenence, it also was draining well. They didn't charge me for the call, and I will use them in the spring for the snaking the pipe in the guest bathroom.

Description of Work: Brad was our technician, did great job. Replaced the washer on hot water shower stem that had disintegrated. Checked a kitchen sink faucet that was leaking, couldn't get the module apart but gave us advice on how to replace. When we turned the water main back on the water filter to the fridge decided to leak & started to flood the kitchen but he quickly turned the water off, cut out the filter and reconnected the line. Thanks for your help Brad!

Over the phone they suggested the water heater to purchase, told us how to get a rebate, provided an estimate. Their estimate was lower than another place we called. We contracted them to bring the wather heater, install it and haul the old one away. they were on time and professional as well as polite and friendly. I was happy with the service, and the new water heater performs very well.

 + 0 moreI called and got an appointment around my schedule rather quickly. They showed up well within the window they quoted and got right to work. I originally wanted to see if the drain needed to be cleaned because we had had problems in the past with roots and I was having some issues with my toilet not flushing. Jack looked at the drain and told me it appeared to be working just fine and the water was running. After discussed the issues I was having and looking at everything, he suspected the toilet to be more of the issue, so he gave me options, I could have the toilet rebuilt to have the water provide more flow and he could also do a preventative snake cleaning with root preventative. The options were all given without any sales or pressure points. I chose to have both done to keep things moving. In addition, I was having water pressure issues in the kitchen and it turned out to be the faucet. Again, they gave me options to rebuilt the faucet or buy a new one and they could install it. I chose the later and the guys went to Lowe's and picked up the faucet for me!
Description of Work: They performed drain inspection, maintenance, root preventative, toilet rebuild and replaced kitchen faucet.

 + -1 moreThe 2 men were very friendly and easy to work with. After the initial walk through they went and retrieved the necessary gaskets and parts. Most everything was fixed the first time. They had to come back to work on a faucet that was to have been rebuilt, but seemed to have been overlooked except on the invoice. When they came back the faucet handle was tightened but I suspect they did not rebuild it as it can still leak. Overall they were fine, especially working on two original 1937 sinks to get the dripping stopped without replacing the sinks as suggested by others. The cleanliness left a little to be desired. We have gotten used to plumbers using foot protection and cleaning up better after themselves.

 + -1 moreI was extremely pleased with the work Hope Plumbing did. I know very little about plumbing and when I called, Jack explained the procedure and gave me an estimate over the phone. (I didn't realize they had to do the work from the inside of the house in the basement.) Two plumbers arrived right on time as scheduled. Since our basement is finished they had to cut a small hole in the drywall to get to one of the faucets. They were done in an hour, and I was pleasantly surprised that it took so little time. The guys were professional and helpful. I'm glad I found Hope Plumbing!
Description of Work: They replaced two outdoor hose faucets, checked for leaks, and hauled away the old plumbing.

He charged me his minimum fee of $89 which seemed slightly high to me. He was very personable and seemed knowledgable about his trade. The task was to simple for me to judge his ability to do a larger job, but I certainly will consider him when one comes up.
