Hope Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling

It went well, they did they work quickly and removed the old sump pump. We used the angie's list deal for the sump pump replacement from september 2010. I am submitting this report in May 2011 and another reputable plumber we recently used said he had never heard of that brand of pump, but it seems to be working fine.

Great. They did a great job. A very thorough and on time service. They repaired what they did, and were very cost effective. Very nice people to deal with.

Their pricing seemed to be reasonable. They showed up on time and took care of what I needed to have done.

They were helpful, quick, and responsive. They got the issue taken care of very well. I would recommend them. The price was pretty reasonable.

He showed up on time, was professional and quick. He had everything done in less than an hour and was willing to leave me an invoice since I forgot to give my daughter a check to give him. Everything is working well now.

Overall the plumber did a good job. He did forget a couple of tools and forgot to tighten a couple of the screws on our meter, in which I had him come back out to pickup/fix.

On time and answered many other plumbing questions I had.

We bought our house about a year ago and the home warranty company put us in touch with Hope Plumbing. We have a good impression of them basically because of how they were able to accommodate us. The pump started giving trouble in the middle of a Friday night and the warranty company didn't want to call that an emergency. It was raining all week and the pump actually worked but the flow was bad. The plumbing company came out and worked with us and I do appreciate that. The water drains back down sometimes for some reason and a vacuum gets created in there. I had to find a solution for that on the internet.

I had e-mailed them and didn't hear back from them for a while. They ended up calling me back and did the whole house inspection. They checked out the drainage in my kitchen and gave me a quote to fix the problem. They also gave me advice on my A/C and furnace humidifier and that it may be causing my water meter to run during the night. He explained everything to me. Everything went well and it was a blessing in disguise that they had just now called me back.

Called Hope based on a mutual friend of the owners recommendation to fix a small gas leak in basement. Plumber showed up on time, undid the brackets supporting the CSST (Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing) gas line , pulled the tubing tight to make his repair and stopped the leak and left. Over the next few weeks I noticed the CSST was now setting on top of my grounded copper water pipes in several places because of how the Hope plumber undid the mounts to pull it tight to fix it. After another plumber came to install my gas logs, they quickly noticed what I had been seeing where the CSST runs over my copper water piping and said it is dangerous if our home is struck by lightning and is not to code. I researched my situation and have proof this is unsafe and not to code. After calling Jack the owner and explained what I had learned, he dismissed my concern and said I was overreacting and we could discuss on Monday. You would expect the owner of local company to want correct a safety and code issue with their work. And we never heard back from Jack. CODE: "G2411.2.3 Prohibited uses. CSST shall not be supported on or by other electrically conductive systems including copper water pipe, electric power cables, air conditioning and heating ducts, communication cables and structural steel beams. Electrical wiring, including the bonding jumper, shall be supported and secured independently of the CSST so that it does not come in contact with the CSST." Or just Google CSST and Lightning strike Update: 4/17 Your response is exactly my point. As your customer, I should be ashamed or embarrassed because your company did work that was not to code nor did you try to make things right?? Yes, I called you frustrated on that Saturday afternoon after one of your peers immediately after walking into my basement pointed out the safety issue could cause a gas explosion/fire from the work of your company if our home is struck by lightning. I happen to know there is another local plumbing company facing several lawsuits from a similar situation where the CSST was incorrectly routed over grounded utilities. You clearly knew my concern of the work I paid your company to perform and you dismissed my concern and responded to it as if I was just overreacting. If you had listened to the reason I called you or why I wrote this review, why did you not reach out to me to investigate your companies work to be certain it was done to code and not posing a safety issue in our home? You have my contacts.

They arrived when they said they would and did the job quickly. Kind of strange that they didn't appear to be wearing any sort of uniform/ID but it was chilly so maybe they just had sweatshirts over their "official" shirts. Didn't really bother me because I can use my sink! I didn't give a grade for the price because I don't know if that's high, average, or low; I didn't shop around.

Jack came out looked at the job - priced it on the spot and had someone at the house the next day doing the work. They were fast, very easy to communicate with and explained everything we asked about in detail, their work was very high quality, very reasonably priced and when they left they did such a great job of cleaning up after themselves we would never have known they were there. Passed the re-inspection with ease. They had very good and creative ideas to help us deal with our old home and we were so impressed with them that we've hired them to do a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel of our "new" historic home. What a pleasure to work with a team of people that are so professional, capable, and courteous. It was obvious that they enjoy what they do and great at it!!

The work got done eventually, took longer than I thought it was going to take, and they were not very punctual.

Workers showed up earlier than expected but worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. The price was what I was quoted on the phone. I was also given information (requested) about replacing the secondary backup pump.

They were great. I liked everything about them. They are good guys. I think their pricing was fine. Everything was perfect. Everything is good. I would use their services again in the future.

Things went very well. In addition to fixing leaks we were looking to buy and have them install an on-demand hot water heater because it takes sooo long for water to get hot in the upstairs bathrooms. They saved me a fortune by educating me on a simple system that trickles hot water through the hot water line, then recovers the water back into the hot water heater. It saves lots of water because we no longer have to run the faucet for so long. It was very inexpensive and works terrific. In addition he trouble shooted two leaks we had been trying to chase for two weeks, and corrected them. They were very professional and their price was very reasonable. They even stayed until 6:30pm on a Friday night to make certain everything was fixed. I really like them and will use them in the future.

They were perfectly satisfactory. I am happy with the overall job that they did. My husband was there when the transaction took place.

The drainage valve at the bottom of my water heater exploded out of the unit at approximately 6:45AM and I had a new water heater installed by 3PM. I called Hope Plumbing . They took my name and number and Mr. Hope called me back about 15 minutes later. He took the time to listen and respond to all my concerns and outlined a few different options. The crew of two showed up on time, hauled my old heater out, and installed a new energy star unit very quickly. They were courteous, friendly, and informative. They even tucked the unit out of the way better than the old unit, and took the time to tighten up a leaky valve that was unrelated to the new installation. I was very pleased with the overall experience and will definitely call on them again.

Overall, the experience was good. I'm happy with their services.

They were nice, and very young. The job went okay. The handle for the faucet seems to be a bit high, but all around it was a good job.

Overall we really appreciated his service.

Needed an extension taken off for the tub because it was rusted. Initially came out and didn't have the proper tools. They came back the next day and did the job. We discussed that they didn't have the tools needed, so they took off $20.

I called and made an appointment. The two service people called me ahead of their arrival so I could leave my office and meet them. In less than an hour, they had identified the problem as a mineral deposits on the pipes attached to the water heater. They took the fittings apart and cleared the gunk. They made a thorough inspection of the water pressure throughout the house before they left. They were very nice, efficient, and informative. They didn't pressure me to buy more services than I needed at the present time. I would definitely recommend them to others - in fact I did and they have already serviced my neighbor's water heater as well.

They were great! They were very professional and quick. Jack explained everything to me. I would definitely use them again.

I got them through one of the special promotions on Angie's List. My garbage disposal was broken and I wanted a new one. They installed it. It clogged up in less than a month and I was unhappy about that as it was brand new. I had never had clogging issues with my previous disposal. I called them again and they came back. I had to pay again to have them clear up the line. They had told me at that time that I was not supposed to put things on the disposal. I thought that it was bizarre because that's exactly what they were for and I never really had any issues with the ordinary peelings to go down the disposal. Hence, I was a little unhappy with the whole situation. They basically told me that they were not made for running peelings. I was not happy about that. I realized that the corn had some things that would not go down there and I would not put those things down there. These were few carrot and potato peels. I never had any problems for things to go down a disposal before because that was what I used it for. I was not happy that it clogged within a month of installation. I thought that I have not got the best product. Overall, I have not been happy about it. However, it is working fine now.
