Hope Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling

We're very pleased with Hope. Despite an initial scheduling glitch, they more than made up for it with their willingness to accommodate our situation and performed flawlessly. This is our third experience with Hope Plumbing and we continue to be greatly pleased with them.

Andrew was friendly, easy-going, and always professional. The quality of the work was superb. As the client, I was able to choose all tile, fixtures, toilets, cabinetry, and tubs. Much of these things were in the original $5,000 quote through the Big Deal. I chose to go with a few things that went over the budgeted amount. I have had guests comment about the beauty of the new bathrooms and have recommended him to them.

Angies Big Deal for whole house humidifier. My AC condenser was damaged in the installation, which they repaired for no charge. The Humidifier runs water though it all the time, he explained after the installation that this is they way they work. Now my water bill is significantly higher. I also have to buy water panels and replace them twice a year which I found out after the fact. Hope Plumbing is a fine operation however it would have been nice to know the pro's and con's. I would put the blame equally on Angie's list for pushing the Big Deal and the Company for not listing enough disclosures to fully explain the additional operating costs I would incur. It actually said I would save money since the furnace would need to run less with humidified air. This may be true but more than offset on the cost of water and water panels. The installer was very friendly and punctual, I would give Hope Plumbing high marks for customer service. However I am unlikely to buy other Angies List Big deals as they promote the base model and do not give you the chance to fully understand what you are getting and what the pro's and con's are. The time clock forces you to make a quick decision on a major purchase. I could have spent more to get a version that recycles the water to lower the waste and avoid the higher water bills had I fully researched the purchase. This is my fault, lesson learned.

Plumber went into crawl space and inspected piping. He determined that the drain line did not have adequate fall to properly drain the 30 foot line. He discussed what options were available to fix the problem. We decided not to change the plumbing at this time.

On thanksgiving my son was preparing potatoes for our dinner. I forgot to tell him not to put all the peelings down the garbage disposal. Too late!!!! The sink was clogged and all our efforts were not working. We called several plumbing companies with no results. My husband called Hope Plumbing and within minutes they had a plumber who was able to come and open the drain. This company is one I would highly recommend to anyone who has a plumbing problem. He was very knowledgeable. And he is familiar with pumps and wells (he doesn’t work on wells but he’s familiar with them). He’s going to put in a new sump pump but first we have to have some other work done first. He took a look/listen tothe new well that was put in earlier this year and he suggested that we call the company that put it in to get it taken care of first.

NO WORK WAS DONE!!!!!!!!!! WE HAD TO CANCEL> SEE ABOVE!!!!!!!! THIS IS THE STUPIDIST FORM TO USE WHEN WE HAD NO WORK PERFORMED.

Jonathan was right on time, listened to my explanations of the plumbing problems and gave good, clear advice, worked quickly and efficiently, and did excellent work. The overall cost for all the work was more than fair. I have never dealt with a better plumber.

They installed the new sump pump under the house. That all went fine and has been working just fine for me since then.

At the initial inspection, they thought it would be an ëasy fix, but because the house and pipes are 70 years old, that proved not to be the case. We were having houseguests at the end of the week, so they accommodated us by putting everything back and returning the next week. We were able to use the shower while the guests were here. The next week, the plumber (Charlie) removed and replaced the pipes without having to tear out the the walls or tile. Since the spigot had to be sacrificed in the repair, he found one that closely matched the existing fixtures in the room. We were very pleased with his professionalism anad work.

I called and scheduled an appointment for a plumber to come to my house due to having low hot water pressure. The man I spoke with diagnosed the problem over the phone and said it would be no problem. He also provided a rough estimate. He worked with my schedule and gave me a three hour block of time in which the plumber would arrive. The plumber arrived several days later (as agreed) within that time frame and was able to clean out the buildup in the copper piping directly above the hot water heater. He also educated me on how the buildup may have occurred. He advised that if we want a new hot water heater, we could get one through Hope Plumbing, or they could install if we bought one elsewhere, but he did not see a problem with the heater we had now (and did NOT push for us to replace it). Overall, the plumber was polite, fixed the problem quickly, and honored the estimate. We are very pleased, and now have hot water pressure again!

All of the gentlemen were very kind. Jonathan arrived even a little prior to his scheduled time. I was home alone all day while my husband was at work and none of the workers creeped me out. Jonathan called me down periodically to explain what they were doing and make sure that I didn't have any questions. While they were working in the basement a few electrical issues came up and they gave me the contact information of an electrician that could help to fix them. When they left at the end of the day the basement was cleaned up and dry. We would definitely have them back if we had any other plumbing issues.

I was impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of Hope Plumbing. The problem was diagnosed quickly and explained clearly. Jonathan had some excellent ideas to overcome existing deficiencies and the work he did was excellent. I will be hiring Hope Plumbing in the future for all our plumbing needs.

Their pricing was competitive and their customer service is second to none. They are professional yet very down to earth people - a pleasure with which to work!

When I discovered I had a gas leak (both in the water heater and the gas lines) early in the afternoon, the guys at Hope Plumbing came out that same day to repair my lines so I could have the gas turned back on and get heat. They also returned two days later to install a new Water Heater. They were very prompt, professional and knowledgeable. I'd hire them again if I have plumbing needs in the future.

Came the next day after I called, viewed the problem and completed the job in ten minutes. Young tecnician was personable, courteous and obviously very efficient. Always set back by price but I guess I'm getting old.

Our basement drain backed up, and they came out to unclog for the second time. They cleared the line of quite a bit of blockage and pro-rated the previous bill. They do great work and are fair and honest.

They were outstanding. He was quick and honest. The guys that came out were good all around. I liked them so much, I plan to use them again.

When they showed up to do the install it was discovered there wasn't room to install the purchased humidifier because of the existing setup of furnace and water; so no work was done.

The service was excellent overall. They were professional, on time, and did the work that was covered in the Deal.

The service was okay overall, but I had a few issues later that I never told them about. Some things became loose, but other than that, everything was fine.

As I get up I'm told the shower isn't draining. As I plunge the Bathtub drain, I'm told water is leaking in the basement. The plunging has broken free the entire drain and trap assembly under the kitchen sink. That is how my Saturday morning started. Calls to a couple other A rated plumbers, I was told it was likely the main drain that is clogged, and if the main stack is full of water they'd have to clean it out from the bathroom by removing the toilet. This would add hundreds to the cost of an already steep Saturday Plumbing call. I was getting concerned. Thankfully my last call was to Hope plumbing. The guy I spoke to over the phone was extremely patient, easy going, but informative. As I described how I believe its the main drain line since the bathroom is backing up into the kitchen, he had me walk through it again with him. After he had me go into the basement and run some water down the floor drain, which cleared, he said its most likely NOT the main drain line that is clogged, but he'd send his guys out with gear for both eventualities. I called back to tell them I'd like to go with Hope around 12:30PM, and he mentioned that they'd likely send a drain cleaning service since they were quite booked up. He called me back a few minutes later to let me know he was sending one of their own plumbers because there was an opening. He was sending Andrew for the service call and he would arrive between 3:30 and 4:30. Andrew called before he left the shop, and arrived on time. He was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. He solved a couple of problems I didn't know existed (like the drain to the kitchen sink wasn't strapped, and so it was sagging over the main support beam in the basement. After strapping it up, he snaked/augered the drain from the kitchen. He picked up some pretty huge clogs around the Y in the drain where the bathub ties in, and cleaned it out all the way into the main stack. After that, he reassembled the kitchen drain and trap I'd taken apart since a piece had failed. He then spent a fair amount of time and effort snaking the bathroom sink drain after I'd mentioned it had always drained slowly... I'd tried to snake it several times before with no luck, but he knocked it out. Andrew left the work areas cleaner than they were when he started, and all of the drains in my 95 year old house are faster than they've ever been in the 7 years we've owned our house. While he was working, I asked him a handful of questions about other projects I'd like to tackle sometime... How could I tie in a new laundry sink drain ... what if I added a bathroom up here in the attic, where would I run the drain line, and how would that tie in to the stack? I would have been annoyed, but Andrew was good natured about it, and helpful. In the end the cost ended up being about half what I expected from calls to other plumbers, and Hope plumbing turned a disaster of a Saturday morning into a manageable situation. I'd most definitely use them again, and I'm sure I will when I get myself into one jam or another on a DIY project.

Initially it wasn't fixed, but they came back and worked on it until it was fixed. It was good service.

I have no complaints! They did a good job at a fair price and were very clean.
