Description of Work: Hope plumbing came the next day after I noticed that our main water shut off valve had a slow leak. They replaced the old valve with an improved lever type valve. Work was very efficiently done and Hope answered all of my questions in a polite and helpful manner. Price was very fair for the work done.

Description of Work: I had a broken pipe & no clean out. A portion of my concrete porch had to be removed as well as a portion of my front sidewalk to then dig up the yard, repair the pipe & install a clean out. When the groud settles they will return to smooth out the yard.

Description of Work: I called the plumber to open the bathtub drain. While he was doing that, I asked him if he could work on the vanity sink drain also. He opened both of the drains in about 30 minutes or less, and said they usually charge $150.00 per drain but that he would give me a break cause the vanity drain wasn' t real bad and he only charged $40.00 more to open it. He was very polite and efficient.

Description of Work: Have had problems with a slow draining kitchen sink in my 60-year-old South Broad Ripple home for three years. It finally stopped draining this week and I called Hope Plumbing. Jonathan showed up at my door within a couple of hours and quickly and professionally fixed the problem. The sink is draining perfectly now. I was so impressed with the quality of his work, I made arrangements for Hope to do some work at my Carmel home that other plumbing companies have tried to repair unsuccessfully (while, of course, charging me!). Based on my experiences with Jonathan, I would recommend Hope Plumbing to others.

Description of Work: We live in an 80 year old house. We had a slow drain on our main floor bathroom which had been snaked several times over the years and never drained well. We also had been hearing gurgling in the drains in the basement and assumed that the main drain needed cleaning, as it had in years past due to roots in the sewer. We have used Hope in the past for small plumbing issues and had been very pleased with them. This time we were very disappointed. We made an appointment for both the bathtub and main drain issues and they were able to get out within a few days. They are always extremely polite and professional through this process. Two servicemen came out mid week and the one promptly told me that the main drain clean out would be 244 dollars and the bathtub augering would be 144 regardless of whether they solved the problem or not. I agreed to the charges. As it turned out the main tub was still not draining well after 3 attempts at a hand auger, so he then looked at the plumbing behind the wall and said it looked like the drain was choking for air, and that it needed a studor joint. Another 112 dollars or so for that and again he told me the charges up front and I agreed. They also looked at our water heater as we had been running out of hot water after two showers, he said that we should try turning up the thermostat which did solve the problem. I was appreciative they did not tell me we needed a new water heater as they easily could have. The total bill was 573. They were at the house for a total of about 2.5 hours. After they were done I was questioning the charges because I realized I could have had the main drain serviced for a fraction of their charge, but the service man was very polite and said that was their standard charge for that service and I agreed to the charges up front, which I did. II was regretting I had told them to go ahead with the main drain augering because I called around afterward and found out you can get drain augering deals for the same service for about 80 dollars and that includes camera inspection, which Hope's-service did not include. A week after the service we started getting flooding from the basement drains and had to have another service come out and auger again. We called Service Plus and they augered the main drain again and said that napkins and other things were clogging the main, and they also did the camera and told us we had tree roots coming in every 3 to 5 feet and that we were in for bigger problems. they did this for 79. I learned, similar to another reviewer on here, that when you have drain problems don't call a plumbing service, call a drain service. The are much less expensive and have the camera's to help trouble shoot the bigger problems. I think Hope did a good job trouble shooting the bathroom drain, it works better than it has in years. But I think they are expensive for the market for drain cleaning. I do think they were very professional and curteous. I would actually call them again for garden variety plumbing issues like leaky faucets, etc. But I would not call them again for drain problems. I also asked the office what their hourly rate was because I was surprised that it cost e 570 dollars for 2.5 hours of work. They said their hourly rate was $105 per hour. I was trying to do the math on the extra 20 minutes of work that added another 100 to the job for the studor joint and he politely explained that this time included the second person going to get the part, which was fair.
